      • Hey, how might the filter grind fair for cold brew?

        • Hi Chriise,

          It should fair pretty well.

If possible - give it a test run with a small batch.

I'd love to hear the results and how you go :)

  • Just received my order. Roasted date is 26/11. The coffee is quite a light roast and considering it's just over 2 weeks post-roast, is still very lively and astringent. I'm actually going to give it a few more days before I consume.

    • Hi aldroid,

I'm very happy to hear you've received your order.

It is considered a light-medium roast, and it really starts to become enjoyable after 10 days we've found.

If you need any tips for brewing or getting it dialled in, feel free to shoot us an email at [email protected]

Wishing you like your coffee and have a nice weekend :)

      • Thanks Julianne,
I like the coffee a lot. It's probably my favourite blend I've tried from you guys. I'm a big fan of Columbian coffee and I can really taste it in this blend. I've just found that I'm getting microbubbles coming through the milk after a few minutes which is usually a sign that the coffee is still releasing CO2, which is really surprising considering the roast date. I will give it a few more days before I have another go with it. But the flavour profile is great, just a little bit acidic still for my palette.

          Great to hear it aldroid.

I'd love to hear what you make of the taste once you let it age just a little more.

Have a great Sunday evening :)

  • Hi, still haven’t received my order. Very disappointed had to purchase coffee from my local coffee shop. Sad that if it does come the quality won’t be as great as first expected.

    • Hi Zoya,

I'm really sorry to hear you haven't yet received your order.

Can you email us with your order number so we can investigate further?

      e - [email protected]

Thanks, and have a nice Sunday evening.

  • Anyone in WA get their order yet?

    • Nope.

      Edit: Shipped on 30th November. Delivery estimate 08 Dec 2020 - 15 Dec 2020.

I should have asked what courier they would use before purchasing. Fastway Couriers and Couriers Please is a no deal for me. Now adding Sendle to that list.

They should add an espresso shipping option.

        Hi OzbargainRehab,

That's valuable feedback, truly. We are reviewing our use of Sendle and will be implementing some changes to improve delivery given the delays both yourself and many others have experienced.

I've just noted down the express shipping as an option and will discuss this as a team during this week.

Thanks again for your feedback, patience and support.

Hope you have a great week ahead.

        • Thanks for the quick reply and its good to see that you care.
2 weeks delivery isn't great to WA but I have had worse. Especially during this busy time.

Maybe look at giving the customer a reasonable express shipping rate option and the option to select Auspost at a smaller fee if you can't bundle into the deal.

I personally would have paid a bit more for the product if you included express shipping for a promo so worth a discussion with your team.

Thanks for the communication and hope to see more great coffee deals on ozbargain in the future.

          • @BaiDamTing: Hi OzbargainRehab,

Thanks for your message, and valuable insight. Your feedback is certainly consistent with a lot of other folks and we've listened carefully to what's been said.

Our team has just wrapped up a discussion about a few of these points, and we're excited to announce some changes with you all soon that will certainly rectify the challenges experienced over the last two weeks.

            Wishing you a great afternoon.

    • @tingleping I was literally going to ask the same question…hoping for the beans to be delivered today, as I’m onto my last couple of shots from my current beans…

    • Wasn't it shipped from Perth? How can you still not get it?

      • Nah, it's shipped from Victoria…thankfully it arrived today, which is roughly par for any Sendle delivery to WA from any eastern states…

        • Strange, my tracking says Perth to Sydney.

So it was actually from Victoria?

Or do they subcontract coffee roasting to who has capacity?

          • @browser: Hmmmm, interesting…OP, care to answer?

            • @Quiexo: Hi everyone,

We roast and dispatch all of our coffee from our Yarraville HQ in Melbourne :)

          • @browser: That is really odd browser.

We haven't roasted or dispatched any coffee from Perth.

If you'd like us to investigate your delivery further, please email us with your order number.

            E - [email protected]

            Thanks so much.

            • @julianm: I don't know for sure, the assumption was based on Sendle's tracking, it says "Parcel in transit from Perth Sydney" for 11 days.

Will check the courier's tracking once it arrives.

              • @browser: Hmm that is really odd - I can't seem to figure out why it would track the parcel like that.

Please keep me updated, or shoot an email to our team.

Would be handy to understand what's occurred here.

                Thanks browser.

Sendle has outsourced to Aramax (fastway) which explains the situation very clearly. They attempted delivery on Saturday for me (we weren't home because I can't be home all the time and there was no notification that the package was moving) and instead of leaving it they took it away again. Allegedly they'll attempt redelivery on Tuesday but having dealt with fastway before I'm not holding my breath that it'll show up anytime soon. Shame for coffee on cue. Not really sensible to grace them with repeat custom after this complete shemozzle.

      Hi IPYF,

That's very frustrating, I can empathise with you.

We are going to make some immediate changes given the poor delivery experience you and many others experienced.

I'm disappointed to hear this could mean you don't return as a customer, but I can appreciate your decision nonetheless.

Really hoping your parcel is delivered soon and you enjoy the coffee.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

  • Am really disappointed in Sendle.

Have had status "Shipment on hold in delivery center" since 10 December.

Would have happily paid extra for shipping to avoid all this.

    • Hi LazyLunLun,

I understand your disappointment, and this is certainly not the delivery experience we want to be providing.

As a team, we've acknowledged that this isn't good enough, and have begun working on implementing a far better solution moving forward.

I do wish your coffee arrives soon, and wish you a great afternoon.

My guess is that which ever courier doing the deliveries are still delivering for their customers promptly.

The brokers would bid for cheaper on demand rate, when demand is high (like now), cheap rate parcels are taking a back seat.

      • Hi browser,

I'm not entirely sure of the hierarchy given to parcel delivery amongst different couriers.

I do know that the number of parcels and deliveries hit an unprecedented number over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales weekend, which is why there's been such delays.

Hope you have a great Tuesday.

        • +1

I'm sure they are busy as is, plus additional cyber sales and seasonal parcels.

We have received parcels from Australia Post, Toll, TNT during this time, and posted using Australia Post. There are no delivery delays, at least nothing significant to notice.

          • @browser: Hmm okay valuable feedback.

Thanks browser, appreciate your sharing this information with me.

            Cheers.

  • Parcel status was "in transit" since 03/Dec.

Lodged a late parcel enquiry on Sunday, this morning status was changed to "arrived at depot".

Not sure if it's coincidence or just needed to give it a kick, perhaps lodge enquiry anyway if no update for a long time.

Hopefully depot refers to a location in Sydney and I wonder how many more steps before it becomes "onboard for delivery".

    • Hi browser,

I'm glad to hear your delivery status has been updated to arrived at depot.

Hoping it arrives to you very soon.

Thank you for your patience, it's truly appreciated.

  • Where are the coffee beans roasted?

    • Hi browser,

All of our coffee is roasted and dispatched from Melbourne :)

      • Thanks for confirming.

  • +1

    Yet to receive as well…

My status changed to 'Parcel Measured - Parcel volume and weight checked on 12 Dec 2020', whatever that means.

Delivery estimate 08 Dec 2020 - 14 Dec 2020, but no sign of delivery yet.

It's disappointing to wait almost a month to receive beans, not sure if it will still be fresh!

    • Holy cow!

My status is still "arrived at depot".

I have not seen a "parcel measured" step, yet. Hopefully it is a conditional step, or else more delays.

    • Hi PhJ,

I'm disappointed to hear your order has still not been delivered.

      My deepest apologies.

If you'd like us to investigate further, you can send an email to our team with your order number

      E - [email protected]

We'll be more than happy to dig a little deeper for you.

Wishing you a nice day ahead.

  • Turns out they have an unauthenticated tracking API: https://api-doc.sendle.com/#get-api-tracking-ref

I have setup a scheduler to send me a text when it detects a new event. Far out! Never had to do this.

  • Still nothing! I reported as parcel as not received.

    • Hi lostinsydney,

My apologies you're yet to receive your order.

Can I ask you to email our team with your order number so we can investigate further?

      E - [email protected]

Thanks and have a nice evening.

  • Hey guys, I really hate to be this person as I was looking forward to the coffee and want to support you, but..

Sendle "attempted" delivery yesterday when someone was home all day and "left a card" even though there is no card to be found. Organised re-delivery through their website, and now they're saying that a re-delivery is not possible and for me to pick up the parcel from a shop that's so far from here that I won't have time to do it within the 5 days. So the parcel will be returned to you I'm guessing and a refund would be appreciated.

Edit: to add to this they had authority to leave the parcel too 😴

    • It is becoming a joke. While it appears that it is Sendle’s problem, but more likely because they negotiated the lowest possible rate, in turn the customers receive the lowest possible service.

Pretty sure Sendle is doing well in general otherwise they would be all over the news. It’s just this batch of orders are so screw up. There must be a reason.

      • Hi browser,

It is certainly frustrating and we are extremely disappointed with the experience that Sendle have provided both you and many more of our customers.

We've made some immediate changes and are awaiting further intel into what's happened on Sendle's side / their courier network.

        Something is amiss for sure.

Thanks for the comment, hope you have a great day.

    • Hi phrober,

I'm disappointed to hear this - I'm very sorry.

Please email our team and we will rectify this for you immediately.

      E- [email protected]

Thanks, hope you have a nice day ahead.

    • Sendle have outsourced to Aramax/Fastway who many people (including me) have dealt with in the past and they seem to have the same M.O. I don't think in many cases the 'lower value' packages ever make it to the van. Their plan is to card you without ringing the bell, or pretend to card you and then send an email (I've had both happen), until you decide to go pick up the package from their depot, at which time they plan to try and dig through the pile to find it.

Black Friday last year I had a couple of board games coming through Amazon US (who used Fastway at that time). They never showed up, and it was just a case of "Heeeey buddy….we toooootally missed you…PLS drive to the other side of the city and we might try to find your package".

They're a scam and most of these coffee beans will end up in the bin.

      • Hi IPYF,

We acknowledge this is not good enough.

Since publishing this special and receiving word of a number of poor delivery experiences from our customers, we have implemented an immediate change to our delivery component of our operation.

We can assure you we are listening to you all, and are proactively making business decisions to improve and enhance the customer experience, in particular, the delivery timeframe, notifications and overall delivery experience.

We hope you understand, and can appreciate that we are making changes with the customer experience at the top end of our consideration.

  • My parcel is still at the depot without any further updates.

Meanwhile I have ordered from a Queensland roaster, guess what? It was delivered 20 minutes ago.

So, stop the "unprecedented" BS. Funny how it is business as usual for other roasters and online businesses, but only yours are not getting delivered.

I can think of one logical explanation, you made a poor business decision by choosing a sub standard delivery channel to send your "fresh" products, now the "used to be fresh" products are piling up at depots waiting for the daily quota to be released/delivered.

    • +1

      Hi browser,

      I can understand your frustration.

In our experience, we have never had such issues with Sendle. It's honestly come as a huge shock to us, as previously, we had been really happy with their service and delivery timeframes.

Unfortunately the delivery component is out of our direct control as we are not a courier company as well. Having been really let down in this instance, we have moved away from Sendle to avoid issues such as this occurring moving forward.

We hope you understand, it's not our intention at all to provide such a poor delivery experience to you and our customers.
