Not the best monitor but one of the cheapest I have ever seen any 1440p 144Hz monitor.

If you don't already own a s2721dgf, I would go with this one, 20% cheaper
144Hz vs 165Hz (unlikely to notice the difference)
Other specs should also be similar to most people
Can also overclock to 165hz on this one, so only difference is colour space and colour depth, but that doesn't really matter much since this is a gaming monitor anyway

@Jenny Death: I had used 8 bit, 8bit + FRC, 10 bit once at the same time, and I can't see the difference between the 3
@ln28909: There's literally nearly a billion more colours on the 10 bit & 8bit+FRC one.
Not to mention 10bit panels usually lack a SRGB clamp so you would have noticed them looking significantly more vivid than the 8bit one displaying the same signal.

Slight loss of panel speed, but you get something back with a genuinely flicker free backlight, better contrast and better reproduction of blacks. I suspect this Gigabyte model is slightly worse tuned than the Viewsonic, but it wouldn't a major change in the above results.

IPS is better for fps game
IPS has better colours and deeper blacks.
@gruffjaguar: You are correct, my bad. IPS has better viewing angled, which really isn't needed for gaming.
@vanreek: VA tends to have slow contrast decay; resulting in blur or ghosting.
Not always; and some people arent sensitive to it, but as a generalization..

after using the xiaomi for a while, the freshness of using an UW is slowly wearing off, but I still get pleasantly surprised playing some games that scales that resolution natively every once in a while, colors isnt that bad, overall good value for these budget 34", waiting for 49" to be natively supported and it'll be time for more upgrades
Are there any other benefits you found for non gaming use? I am confused between the 27dgf vs the xiaomi.

XB271HU just has gsync so i am limited to nvidia hence was looking for a freesync monitor

i have it for my pc and its really good. colours are nice and the 165 hz is really smooth, I got it for $500 so this is a pretty good bang for ur buck office monitor

Like the OPolar blower deal I think a lot of people got FOMO at seeing the hundreds apon hundreds of upvotes the S2721DGF deals get. They ended up with a good panel but paid significantly more than what it was worth.

What's the difference between this to the xiaomi one aside of the size? It's only 100 bucks difference
IPS vs trash VA, 120hz vs 144hz
This one is IPS, the Xiaomi monitor is VA. VA has worse colour reproduction, viewing angles and higher response times which means more "ghosting" in fast-moving scenes and colour banding (another visual hiccup).
VA does have deeper blacks though, which alongside the 21:9 aspect ratio makes for a better overall viewing experiencing when watching media. Overall I'd say IPS is still superior though.
I don't think they meant all VA is trash, rather that the Xiaomi is not great at all for the given refresh rate.
I paid $520 + $20 postage when it was released late september! Its an awesome IPS monitor!

This one won for me. Cheaper, can be tuned to 165 anyway, don't care about the hdr and don't care about the stand. Really good price so got one.
Damn… this is cheaper than the Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD and better because it can downscale 4K to 1440p (e.g. with the PS5). I'd sell mine and get this if I hadn't already caved and bought a cheap 4K TV.
I'm very curious how this display compares to the M27Q, of which there no worthwhile reviews yet.
