  • -1

Has anyone else received the items they've ordered twice? I just looked in my history and it says delivery 1 of 2 but I definitely only ordered a qty of 1 🤭

    • +1

One tracking number is the full one and the other is a shortened version of it lmao

  • +3

Received my electronic pest repeller today. Not even worth $1, looks like a fire hazard.

The insulation on the pins come off and gets stuck in the socket.

    https://imgur.com/a/eN5kTyt

If you bought this, I'd use with extreme caution, and question if you should really use it at all.

    • lol refund must

    • Lol. That's Super dodgy. as for me. Got my cutlery set today. For a buck delivered can't really complain

      • Well, If the bug repeller reappears tomorrow at 2pm, I'd avoid it.

Cuttlery seems like a much safer bet.

    • I think youre supposed to take off those black insulators? otherwise it won't fit in the socket.. at least thats what I did..

      • The pins should be permanently insulated to be legally sold in Australia.

What the seller, or importer has done is just apply short lengths oh heat shrink tubing to give the impression they are insulated as per code.

I'm amazed eBay collaborated with a business that sells non-compliant, illegal, electrical items.

        • oh I have quite a few devices/electronics imported from overseas without the insulated thingy and works fine.

If other countries don't require it, why does Australia need to?

          • @skido: It's there purely for safety. It means if something falls between the socket and plug when it's plugged in it won't result in a sort circuit or electrocution.

Australia only started insulating it's plugs about 20 years ago.

  • Also got my fan and lights today! Pretty amazing for the price!

    • Even the contractor who delivers the parcel gets $1.55/item!

Not only that, if you live in a metro area, you will also receive a $5 late voucher for every item that didn't arrive in 2 days.

      • You don't get late voucher for every item that arrives late.

        • You don't get late voucher for every item that arrives late.

I was speaking to the Tuesday $1 promos. I have received a voucher for all items that arrived late.

          Why?

Because metro eBay plus delivers are eligible for a free express post upgrade. If the express item doesn't arrive in 2 business days from shipping, you'll get the voucher.

          • @ash2000: I had 4 items arrive late from $1-tuesdays, only 1 voucher received.
            Also metro area.

            • @johnmelb: I'm running at 6 for 6.

              • @ash2000: Shows the inconsistency of ebay policy, another reason why I wouldn't pay for it.
Anyway, for a $50 voucher and $49 fee, I did re-new for another year.
After reading about the late vouchers, I thought I was going to get more vouchers, but no such luck.

        • You don't get late voucher for every item that arrives late.

This is actually true, it's just the items that guarantee a delivery date, but from my experience the airpods and the Tuesday promo items mostly/all do?

          https://pages.ebay.com.au/shipping/guaranteed-delivery.html

          • @ash2000: For me they showed as " FREE Express Postage" "Estimated by …" - and didn't arrive by that date.
I got 1 coupon, not sure for which item because it didn't specify. (I did get multiple sms saying I could create a free return label.)

            • +1

@johnmelb: Same here. Keep getting free return labels only.

  • I got a $5 voucher for the fan being late

  • I am having trouble charging the lights with solar. They worked fine out of the box but now only a half turns on. I put the solar panel on the roof (lack of direct sunlight in the garden) today and it got 5 hours in the sun. Still only a half turn on. Then another 3 hours in another spot. Same thing.

Is it not charging for anyone else? Want to know if it's an issue that comes up a couple times and it's a device issue or if I doing it wrong.

    • Are certain colours not illuminating, or just full sections of lights?

      • Sections. The half closer to the panel is lit then gradually changes to off on the other half. Reds and greens were (when they started turning off) and are darker than the blues though.

        • This sounds indicative of a flat battery, rather than any wiring fault.

The reason why the battery didn't charge is another question. It is possible you have a faulty battery. Do you have any other rechargable AA batteries you could swap it out with? Or do you have a AA battery charger you could charge the original cell with?

          • @ash2000: I do have other batteries and I have opened the box up to see what's inside. The battery has a red and black wire out of either end I didn't poke around it though. Do you know if they would be just wires touching either end and can put it back afterwards or attached into the battery?

            • @Applause: They will just be touching the positive and negative terminals, the battery should just slip out. They not in the battery.

              • @ash2000: The wires look(feel) to be soldered on. I don't want to take something apart I can't put back together incase I need to return it for being faulty.

I did also try an incandescent lightbulb as I search that it worked for a short time but I feel I had been defeated by that stage.

I will l try again tomorrow.

                • @Applause: Oh, ok fair enough……usually the battery is removable so you can replace it, but clearly not in this instance. Makes it challenging.

Stick it back in the sun for a few more days.

Hopefully they'll send you a reacement if needed…… $1 refund seems less appealing!

  • Is anyone else having issues turning the power switch on on the battery box for the Christmas lights?

    • No, its just a switch behind the rubbery thing. Just turn it right or left and it will be on, its not a push button

  • Still havnt got my christmas lights or insect thingo.

I didnt even get a tracking number. Did other peoples order have a tracking number for these?

    • Today from Ebay Plus I'm getting the Pest Control Plug + Christmas Lights via the Small AusPost Vehicles and the Devanti Fan + 1Tb Seagate Hard disk waiting for me at the Post Office

  • +2

Just received a message from the ebay seller about the Christmas Lights. Turns out somehow they oversold and they aren't sending my order. And this was messaged a week after they were supposed to arrive. Such poor form.

    • +1

Same deal for me. I ordered the lights and pest repellent. Messaged today also that they don't have enough stock to fulfil the solar light orders.

Based on the reviews on the repeller above, I'm going to cancel both orders.

    • What did they do? Just refund you the $1?

  • +1

Just mounted the fan on the wall yesterday and it is actually very good, even on the lowest setting it has just the right amount of air blowing on me

    • did you mounted by your self?

      • Yeah

  • Still no update regarding the Diffuser XD

    • Yep, I'm still waiting too.

    • Same

  • Has anyone received the oil diffuser yet? Seller said delayed ETA is mid december

    • Yes

      • When did you receive it? Did you order very early?

        • Yes almost after min after couple of days as delivery expected date i guess

  • My diffuser got shipped today
