PC Case with Dust Filter on All Openings (Including Front Panel)

I am after a case that has removable dust filters on all openings. I can find several that have top and bottom covers but struggling to get any that come with a removable filter for the front as well. Preferably they would be magnetic but at this point I will take whatever you can find.

Requirement would be min 4x 3.5 inch bays for my HDDs
Not after anything that is particularly quiet
Budget would be great to keep under $100 but can push a little higher if needed
Full or mid tower

My old Antec 900 is a bit rusty on all the grills (literally) and I need an update.

Magnetic dust filters can be bought fairly cheaply.

https://www.demcifilter.com/ if you want a custom shaped one for your particular model of case. PCCG is a reseller. https://www.pccasegear.com/search?query=DEMCiflex%20

Otherwise you can go generic — Pack of 4 (120mm) $12.99 shipped

    • Thanks for the reply. I did see you can buy those generic ones while searching but was hoping to get a somewhat more elegant one from a pre built that's looks alright.

If you bought an air filter for the room the PC was in it would also lower the dust in the air that ends up near your PC.

The room my PC is in is basically the whole first floor of my house haha. Thanks for the tip though

I recommend the Coolermaster NR600. Fits four 3.5" drives and is around your budget. Gamernexus best budget case of 2019. Comes with top magnetic dust filter and a removable filter at the bottom for the PSU. Note that it has a fine mesh front panel that acts as a dust filter.

I use the drive cage in mine to hold my spare PSU cabling. Given you intend to use the drive cage for actual HDDs, you will want to reduce the space taken up by the PSU and cables.

For efficient cooling it really needs at least one extra fan. But you can add many and/or radiators in most sizes.

    It lacks a usb-c port, if that's a dealbreaker. Wasn't for me.

    • Appreciate the recommendation. From what I can see the front panel doesn't have a removable dust filter though?

      • It catches almost all dust although you are right it isn't dust proof mesh.

The problem with dust proof mesh is it is highly restrictive to airflow even when clean and much worse with small amounts of dust on it. If your PC is aimed at performance it will now be much louder for the same performance level or throttled by temps. So it usually isn't used on PC cases even for silent designs.

The way to filter dust with good airflow is to used airconditioner filter but that is another level again of looking bad from cheap mesh filters.

  • Well I found one that I like and meets most of my requirements…… Just that it costs $300

I'd say treat yourself… if you're going to live with the same case over the course of a decade, may as well buy a good one and be satisfied with that choice.

Think about how long you used that rusty Antec 900 case. I'd assume your new case will last just as long.

Meshify 2 was actually my original recommendation but I didn't know how you would feel if someone told you spend $235 when your original budget was half that amount.

      • True, but $300 might be a bit much. Maybe I can grab a cheap M.2 and scrap one of my 4x 3.5" so then I can downgrade to something like an S2 for cheaper. My components have lasted a while being from 2011, here is my umart order from ~9 years ago.

1 Antec Nine Hundred Tower Gaming Case with side window Black(No PSU) @$119.00

  • My define r6 has filters on everything but the exhaust fan on the back.
