  • I don't need it, but definitely worth it for someone looking at $20

  • Care, the reviews say needs oil for every trim

isn't that's the case for every trimmer..

      • I use the trimmer on my Philips Series 9, it doesn't need constant maintenance. I used to buy these kind of shavers but if you forget to oil them after more than 2 session, they will seize up and stop working.

Its a good deal, just will need constant maintenance

what oil are you suppose to used for trimmers?

          • +7

@dtrinh: You can get any oil suitable for shavers/trimmers. It will say on the box.

Its kind of soft to touch, not like a heavy olive oil or cooking oil.

If you have machine oil for your sewing machine, that works perfectly fine as well. You can get that from any arts and craft store.

Make sure to only put 1 or 2 drops at most and let the trimmer run for a few seconds. Don't slather the machine with oil, that will reduce performance and cause wastage.

You can also get a trimmer/shaver guard from shaver shop which is an aerosol lubricant. Spray a bit then run the machine for a few seconds.

Make sure to run the trimmer under hot water after use, dry it, then put the oil and run a few seconds. After that you can store it. All in all should take not more than a minute.

            • @HumbleCat: this great info! thanks

            • @HumbleCat: use cooking or sewing machine oil

              • @Xistn: Coking oil is good if you want to kill it… It dries up after a few days and glues the parts together

          • @dtrinh: Sewing machine oil is what they recommend. 3in1 oil also works well (my grandma uses 3in1 in the sewing machine for example)

@dtrinh: Woolies sells sewing machine oil for a couple bucks. Thats what i use on my xiaomi

@dtrinh: Uncle Rogers recommend peanut oil.

Don't use olive, makes your beard tastes like Mediterranean salad.

Always a Groomsman but never a Groom ;(

  • Anyone know if it lithium battery?

    • Yeah doesn't say.

  • Just picked up the last one at my closest store, cant figure out what sort of battery it has, not mentioned in any of the paperwork….

  • Just picked one up from local store. Good value.
Do what the guy says above re oiling. It preserves the life of them.
Rinse, dry, spray and store. Repeat after use.

  • I ordered one for pick up at my local store and there was a glitch in their system so they're offering free express delivery :)

  • Great deal but I need 14/15mm cut so deal breaker unfortunately.

  • I had a couple of Wahl rechargeable trimmers and the batteries were of very poor quality.
I also have a pet trimmer from Amazon that uses swapable 18650 batteries and higher quality titanium and ceramic blades and it works much better.
I put the Wahl trimmers on Buy Nothing and gave them to a Mum who wanted to save the $25 on her son's haircuts but told her to charge before use and not expect them to hold that charge for any length of time and they had been like that from new.

To be fair the purpose for this product is for for trimming beard, trim here and there maximum 10 minutes, not cutting a full head of hair.
It's like buying a battery operated whipper snipper then complained that it doesnt have enough juice to mow your lawn.
So yes i think the battery would be crap if you want to cut your hair, but for 5-10 minutes light duties i think it would do the job.
I dont know how accurate the RRP is (79.95) but for $20 there is not much to lose.
