Just spotted this deal in the Shopback app. Doesn't look like ebay are running any good promos for Boxing Day so this may be the next best thing. Limited to 12,000 participants.

This challenge entitles you to $10 bonus cashback when you spend $10 or more in a single transaction (minimum spend does not include GST charged at checkout for international items, delivery and all other fees) at eBay Australia through ShopBack between 12.00am and 11.59pm AEDT on 26th December 2020.

  • Multiple items may be purchased in a single transaction to reach the minimum spend.
  • Limited to one bonus per customer.
  • Available while redemptions last.
  • The $10 bonus cashback is in addition to the regular cashback you'll receive shopping at eBay Australia.
  • The $10 bonus will be added to your account once your regular cashback turns Confirmed.

    It says multiple items can be purchased in the one transaction, but does that have to be from the one seller, or can you do from multiple sellers to get over the $10

    I went through the challenge to shop now.
    Opened in ebay app. Added item to cart and made payment with giftcard and paypal.
    Havent got tracking yet…

    Bought something in the last hour of the challenge - TBH I didn't have anything I really needed that was easily available on ebay… The shipping isn't worth it for a local item like from a pharmacy. But in the end I bought a Korean skincare product from an overseas seller - hope it tracks!!! Lol… But these kind of high value cashbacks feel so risky, I think I'll avoid them in future unless there was something I am planning to get.

    Searching for something to buy made me realise how eBay is no longer for cheap stuff. The only thing I really have used eBay for recently is bigger stuff like appliances or watches. It still holds merit for collectibles though, and being able to import some brand name stuff from overseas sellers (like with the Korean product I bought). There's hardly any cheap trinkets anymore, like used to be popular on eBay - I guess they've moved more to aliexpress.

      Yeah totally concur with everything you've said. I only buy "cheap" stuff on eBay when there's these cashback offers with small minimum spend. Otherwise yeah AE is better.

    My Cashback has now tracked (received email) however nothing showing in the app. It says challenge ended, finalising results. Fingers crossed!

    Purchased yesterday morning around 10am and got the confirmation email early morning today. App shows challenge is completed and reward pending.

    Ordered at 4pm on mine and husbands account, nothing. Toldy sister about it and she made hers 5 mins before the challenge ended and hers got tracked. Will be super annoyed if I don't get it.

    Bonus still not tracked and states "Finalising Results" as of 28th @ 9.55pm

    Well I ordered through menulog this evening and it tracked within 2 hrs. Still no tracking from ebay 3 days later.

      Wooow yeah mines disappeared too, that's pretty scummy if they are going to say that they have no record of us activating the challenge

      Sister did hers on desktop and it worked. Seems like mobile users have more issues

        Yeah, I get the feeling that SB's tracking isn't as reliable as it was before.

        Cashreward's recent Pizza Hut deal tracked instantly for me. It's a shame as SB usually has better deals for eBay.

          tbh I've had a lot more problems with SB tracking than with CR, especially when theres upsized cashback (either untracked or a different rate) or these bonus things. You would think they would up their game given what happened…

      Mine has gone to the "Past Challenges" section and has now changed to "Challenge Failed". I used to purchase stuff through the eBay app using SB and all went through fine. Unsure why this time (with the bigger bonus) it fails for everyone here.

        that the business plan, give out many small bonuses but failing few big ones.

  • What a scam, needs 7 days before a claim can be lodged… No way to guarantee $10 bonus as well.

    This disappeared from the reward section in my ShopBack app. What happened?

    • Same here, still no tracking and the Challenge has disappeared.
      I used the Shopback app. Initially it loaded ebay inside the Android app, then when I searched it opened the ebay app to complete the transaction.

        Its under past challenge. Top right corner in the challenge tab.
        But mine shows failed challenge. Date of tracked purchase is 27/12, 1 day after my actual purchase date.
        Already sent email to them, waiting for their reply.

        • Thanks, i can see the Past Challenges now. It is showing as failed even though I activated and then spent $30 at 6:30am on Boxing Day.

            I guess they used the tracked date to validate transaction instead of actual purchase date…

      • Ye did the same and had same issue as you, seems like too many redirects for it track properly. Never tracked.

    • Sent email to ShopBack and they advised i didn’t complete the transaction in the timeframe (which is wrong). But they honour the $10 to my account.

        They replied you pretty fast, they usually take a few days or week to reply my email

    • The shopback app has had some serious problems recently. I'm not sure what they've done to break it, but many who completed the Dell challenge in the app have also been denied.

      • I normally use Desktop/extension but thought might use the app thinking it'll track better because it's from there own app so they might log the activity or something to verify purchases

      I did it on mobile, and can see under challenges (at the bottom) "Completed" for the challenge.

          Just wanted to indicate it wasn't desktop only.
          And I also provided the T&Cs from the app of that challenge, in case people would want to re-read or have proof.

          Seems like you updated your response while I was responding to you.
          From what I understand : @BadBargain used the app, and wanted to check if T&Cs indicated that cashback was 'dekstop only'.
          I was confirming that app should have worked (worked for me) - and provided the T&Cs for reference.

    Just realised with these bonuses when I checked the past challenge failures that I did complete and because it disappeared I didn't notice. Super annoying

  • Spoke with the customer support and this is their response "eBay's tracking takes up to 7 days but we faced a glitch that the bonus ended before the tracking period"

    Guess we'll just have to wait til it finish tracking to see if we get the challenge (mine also says failed currently)

  • Bit odd, I sent them an email from each of mine and husbands account about the missing tracking. Mine got credited but they said my husbands failed even though it was done minutes after the other on the same phone.

    Received a tracking email but nothing in the app. Then the Challenge disappeared. Classic dodgy Shopback!!!

  • Revoked my + vote. Very disappointed with SB. I would normally let it slide but their responses are somewhat careless and arrogant this time.

    Sent them an email explaining my concerns and provided supporting screenshots, and let them know that many others are having the same issues. Not only they didn't address my questions properly, they mentioned the wrong supplier. Unbelievable.

      I had the exact same response as you i think. Saying that purchase from the iconic wasn't tracked yet.
      Pretty sure that's a generic response sent to everyone who complained. Abysmal customer service !

    In the same boat as many others, did not track and challenge no longer listed in app. Have had a few tracking failures recently despite taking all the usual precautions. :(

  • Anybody else having issues with bonus cash back only being added as pending?
    I have the same issue again with another bonus cashback.
    The regular cash back is approved, but bonus remains in pending again …
    The challenge says "you're are Rockstar here's your reward". But the reward itself shows pending again with message "update your withdrawal details".
    Looks like I have to open a ticket again :-(
