Can't Get AppleCare+ for an AirPods Pro Purchased from Officeworks

Hi there,

I just purchased an Airpods pro from OW today and wanted get AppleCare+ just in case.

But then the apple website says my item is not eligible to get an AppleCare+.

I thought OW sells AU stocks do they not?

In this case, what should I do? I opened up the case and charging it now but feels bad that I don't have insurance with it.

Anyone can help me out here?

Thanks in advance.

  • Applecare+ isn't insurance. It's a limited warranty on top of your consumer law rights.
IMO if you are one to drop and break your AirPods Pro's (or drop them in water), it's worth it as you get two accidental replacements every 12 months for $45 each visit to Apple.

Otherwise, if you're pretty careful with your stuff don't bother. You won't get much more outside of your Australian consumer rights.

As for the serial number not working, ensure you are on the AU side on Apple.com: https://www.apple.com/au/support/

    Alternatively, give them a call: 1300 321 456

cheers soundboy5010 for your kind reply. I will double check and give them a call if it still doesn't work. It's not me who's gna use it so wish to get one. haha
Thank you so much and it's little bit early but happy new year! wish you the best in following year!

Applecare also gives you extra support. If you're a granny who doesn't know how to use technology then you may actually get your money's worth with Applecare with all the phone and in store support you might need. And it'll save the granny's grandchildren from being called every single time gran gran wants to learn how to do something.

Ageist and sexist in one comment - well done … 🙃

…. Not being too serious here

  • I don't know whether this is Australian stock, but I know that they have previously sold Bose products where they were not a recommended retailer. So they were likely grey market.

    • it says authorised reseller on their page. so hoping for the best ;)

      • Sorry, misread your post.

Same thing happened when I purchased an Apple Warch 6 from JB hifi a day or so after they were released.

I called apple support and they weren’t sure what was going wrong but suggested to call back on Monday (I called on a Friday evening).

Monday morning it worked on the website before I tried to call. I think the systems were still being upgraded in the background.

Yes you can. I bought them from OW, then I called Apple Support and pay for AppleCare+ over the phone

  • Give it a few days. I had the same problem but after a few days I was able to purchase it.

  • You can pay for AC monthly with 20% off iTunes vouchers, uses store credit. Do it on my iP12, $8 a month. Use the apple support app to set it up.
