Remember it should only be about 10% of your body weight. Obviously there’s some variability in terms of surface area of the blanket, but use some common sense with kids or light adults with/without a disability.

I did some calculations and found the weight per surface area are all similar (about 3 kg/meter square). Since the surface covering your body will be the same, does this mean all these different weights sold will feel the same?
I’d say so. I don’t think it matters too much for most people, other than comfort/preference.
The reason I commented is that there has been some deaths and injuries when used inappropriately with kids with disability. I could also see this being used as a restraint with frail people with dementia, which wouldn’t be great.
For most adults who can remove it from themselves if they want to, whatever feels comfortable is good.

i didn't know either, then i bought one for no reason. i actually like it. feels like someone is hugging you. doesn't make it warmer, just more pressure on u. its a pain in the but to travel with, so i just keep it at home.

Southport (QLD) had both cover and no cover for $39 the girl acknowledged it shouldn't be the case but said they would honour it.
I happened to show up as another lady was querying if they had more with the washable cover. Otherwise I would have just picked up any.

I can imagine the weighted ones are heavier due to the portion hanging over the edge too.
Would the 9kg be suitable for 2x 60kg to share on a double bed?
I've got a similar sized one and tried the same but found it too narrow
They're quite small, not the same size as normal double bed sheets / blankets. I definitely found one per person is better.

I would go heavier. The weight difference in the blankets comes from the difference in size. The 9kg one is a bit longer and wider and is better at covering your whole body without your feet sticking out during the night.
I prefer one to one ratio. So at 77kg I’m thinking of going all in and getting 8x9kgs so I feel like I’m being ganged on.

I have the bamboo one from calming blankets and it's perfect for summer, stays nice and cool but cost heaps.
Is it just the cover made with bamboo or something with the weighted component? I have a neptune blanket and even without the cover it is too hot.
