Hi everyone,

  • To qualify for this offer, enter the code 19JANBONUS (case sensitive) in the 'Earn More' section of the ShopBack app prior to purchase and 'Start' The Challenge (go to Earn More tab at the bottom of the app screen).
  • Once you've redeemed the code and started the challenge, you can make your qualifying purchase on any device (not just the app).
  • If you have the app already installed on your phone/tablet, clicking on "Go To Deal" will open up the app and pre-fill the voucher code field for you. Just remember to tap on "Apply" to actually redeem the code.

Terms and Conditions:

  • This challenge entitles you to $2 bonus cashback when you spend $5 or more in a single transaction (inclusive of GST, exclusive of delivery & all other fees) at any store through ShopBack between 10.00am and 11.59pm AEDT on 19th January 2021.
  • Purchases from ShopBack's Gift Card Store (ShopBack Voucher) and stores offering no cashback are excluded from this challenge.
  • Only purchases made after you 'Start' this challenge will qualify for the bonus cashback.
  • Limited to one bonus per customer.
  • Available while redemptions last.
  • The $2 bonus cashback is in addition to the regular cashback you'll receive shopping at your desired store.
  • The $2 bonus will be added to your account once your regular cashback turns Confirmed.
  • Purchases that do not count towards this challenge are those in which do not meet the store's respective terms and conditions (including but not limited to cancellations, returns, exchanges, using unapproved coupons, purchasing excluded products/categories).
  • Cashback will be voided if any fraudulent activities are detected or if any terms and conditions are not met.
  • ShopBack reserves the right to amend or withdraw the terms and conditions, and terminate the offer at any time without prior notice.


Can I use a gift card to pay at eBay/Amazon and still qualify for cashback and the bonus?
Yes (provided you are buying eligible items, and not using unapproved codes). Refer to Notes under the T&Cs of the respective pages - eBay and Amazon.

Can I buy items from multiple sellers on the one marketplace and still qualify for the bonus?
Yes if it’s within one transaction (same cart).

Can I buy a mixture of eligible and non-eligible items from Amazon and still qualify for the bonus?
Yes, provided the total amount of the eligible items is $5 or greater.

            @Jadeja: Same here, you couldn't help thinking SB will not honor the $10 bonus UNLESS you lodge a claim.
            SB, hear out, your day will come when we lodge a claim to ACCC instead.

              @Stickout: If your cashback does not track, then yes I understand it's a pain but you have to lodge a claim. It's the only way we would know that you actually made a transaction in this instance.

              Otherwise we could issue the $10 bonus to every person that opted to participate in the challenge and clicked through to eBay, but not everyone who opts to participate in the challenge/clicks through to eBay actually proceeds with a transaction.

                @gotyourback: Oh OK, so we have to lodge a claim or the challenge will not work?
                Judging by the number of comments in regard to the Boxing Day promo, a large number of Ozbs did not automatically get the $10 bonus.
                Oh and I did not get the proactive email from SB that is referred to by @CoronavirusVaccine

                  @Karen07: If your regular cashback did not track at all, then yes you will need to lodge a claim.

                  If your regular cashback did track, then your challenge should appear as Completed/Reward pending and you will not be required to lodge a claim. Bonuses here will be added to your account as soon as the regular cashback tracks.

              @Stickout: I was quite impressed with SB's proactive approach in addressing the missing purchases on the Boxing Day challenge. They sent me an email explaining the situation. I was very frustrated beforehand as the hassle to chase it down is just not worth it. But having SB acknowledging it I felt more comfortable to go ahead to lodge the missing tracking claim.

    • If you submitted your claim earlier this month, your bonus would've come through last night. Otherwise you'll be in the next batch if you submitted it a little later.

        I call BS on that. I submitted my claim in late December after not having my purchase tracked, never got any bonus.

      Same here. Lodged another enquiry at the same time with CashRewards, resolved within 3-4 days. No update from ShopBack, almost over 2weeks. Poor service.

      How did you all have received the boxing day bonus already? My boxing day transaction is at 'pending' status, even my black Friday transactions are as well, I thought only when they are in 'confirmed' status, then I would be able to have the challenge bonus?

        arcticmonkey, you've said you've sent multiple PMs, but when we check our PM history with you there's only threads from 2018.

        Checking our email notifications, there is a thread with subject Non pay out that's somehow not present in our inbox as per screenshot above. This thread appears to have been initiated on Jun 25, 2019, 4:45 PM. You've continued making queries in this thread throughout 2019 and we see the last message was a 'Thanks' you sent last month on 22nd December.

        Every time we try and open the link from the notification email we also get a 404 error. I'm not sure what's going on here, but I recommend starting a new PM thread again.

          I sent messages on 24, 28 and 30 Dec as well as a final message on 11 Jan. I don't have a reply to any of these.

          The last message I had from you was on the 22 Dec which stated: "Hey mate, checking on this for you".

          I'd expect something to be checked in less than one month.

          Also, it shows as one new message on your end so how can you be sure my message was checked?


          • @arcticmonkey: Thanks for confirming. Well that's the thing, the thread isn't in our inbox for us to see anything or to reply to. From here we have not received any messages from you since 22nd December according to the email notifications. There is nothing in our inbox for 28th/30th December and 11th January.

            Yes it shows as one new message on the email - we can only be sure if your message was checked if it's in our inbox, but it's not.

            Can you try sending another message from that old thread labelled Non pay out, plus sending another message by initiating a new thread. Then we can see from our end if the notifications come through for both or just one.

    Don't really trust you guys any more after me and so many people didn't get the $10 boxing day bonus and of course was denied after investigation by Debra, like usual.
    I avoid using shop back now.

        Well according to Debra "We have appealed this missing cashback claim with the merchant and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the cashback along to you."
        Which meant no bonus.
        Believe me, I am super careful about clearing cookies, turning off all extensions, never clicking away from the page while transacting etc etc

            @gotyourback: Rep why are you only looking further into this when someone has complained on this site? Should you not have looked furthest when they lodged their claim originally? I have given up on SB due to this BS.

              My claim was rejected even though I did everything right and as I have done for successful tracking previously and with cashrewards. Claim was submitted as early as I could on the 7th of December.

              All I got was generic email from Debra, followed by a 'okay we'll look into it further, give us 30 days', followed by a rejection with generic reasons, none of which applied to my order. I'm not going to spend more time sending details for someone to not look into it again!

          Yes if your order has not tracked, you'll need to submit a claim. You can submit the claim here. I recommend you submit the claim as soon as you can as you only have 30 days to do so from purchase date.

            So I have several bonuses showing in app under "earn more" and then with two status tags:"completed" and "reward pending", but there's no entry under "cashback activity" for the bonuses.

            For example there's no $10 under the "cashback activity" for boxing day challenge, but I have a boxing day transaction for Amazon equal to the rate on that day and my purchase value (which is still "pending")

            With the above example, am I required to lodge a claim for the $10?

      I have been an avid Shopback user (and successfully gotten a lot of great cashback) but recently had some larger transactions denied by Shopback, including after investigation. They cannot give me a specific reason. I'm now wary of using them again, it's not worth the time spent to chase claims up and have them denied. I've also missed out on the $10 boxing day bonus as that transaction is still "under investigation!"

        Also, if your claim is still Under Investigation then you have not missed out yet. If you submitted your Boxing Day claim earlier this month, you should have received your bonus last night. If not, then you might be in the next group which will be handled in our next batch to credit.

          If you're so good at tracking down missed claims, you should really teach the people that are supposed to be doing it in the first place. You confirm my thoughts that nobody is actually looking into missed claims properly.

        Same here.. the smaller charges are always tracked, it's the larger ones.. i submitted a claim after acquiring a laptop from dell during the $100 dell challenge, never tracked. After almost 40 days, it's now showing that the Dell purchase is tracked but nothing is mentioned about the $100 dell challenge.. another way to get away from honouring large cashback.. i even Pmed the store rep previously gotyourback.. promptly ignored

        Worst thing was i was out of the money because i decided not to use the lovekeanu code.. thereby foregoing actual discounts

        I didn't even with the boxing day shenanigans as i was fed up with SB… i am still waiting for the $5 Cyber Monday Special…. it's a farce

        As you know most people don't chase missing cashbacks hence adding more SB profits .

        Why don't you :

        a) Improve tracking
        b) Not send out generic responses blaming your customers with a ton of possible reasons .

        And if you think your tracking is fine type in shopback at this site and look at the 100 + negs .

    Still waiting on 3 transactions over $80 worth for cashback. Even after investigation, there is no reason why. They just blame the seller. Never again.

      Had the same but with CashRewards so it's hit and miss with these cashback guys which is so frustrating. Sometimes I get great customer service on both sides, sometimes it's sh*t

      Yep the second time you enter the code the message will come up. Just go to the Challenges tab, pull down to refresh and you should see the challenge there.

    It's funny, I can see alot of poor tracking experiences but it tracks perfectly for me each time, and the notification is always within 20 mins

    The only thing negative in my experience with shopback was the privacy stuff up.

    • I was really bullish with them as well, didn't have issues for years…and then I did, and that soured my trust in them. I hope you never get cheated out of a large cashback.

        Look I'm sympathetic for gotyourback, he is proactive in addressing these issues and complaints. I can't help but feel some of the complaints when I look into his response is because some users are not reading the T&Cs carefully and hence not fulfilling the conditions of the shopback. Even for this deal, I was about to buy an ebay card and then realise it doesn't satisfy the conditions of the offer.

      I got lot's of $1 and $2 amounts tracked. Then lo and behold, the $60 cashback amount never tracked/won't be approved by them. Coincidence?

      • agreed.. create that false sense of trust and leave you high and dry on the bigger one.. i stupidly elected to not use the lovekeanu code for instant 15% off laptop instead opted to use SB for 10% CB and $100 bonus.. guess what happened… yep, error tracking

    I won’t neg, but also starting to lose trust in SB as one of my challenges tracked, never got the bonus. When I asked about it the person manually gave me the bonus. But I don’t understand why it’s not automated, hence I’m a bit weary with SB now

    • Checked your account based on details you provided previously in an old PM thread.

      This was a manual eBay bonus offer and was not associated with the automated challenge feature in our app. Further to that, you were indeed credited the bonus on 28th November. It is labelled as 30Sep20 eBay Bonus on your account.

    Can someone please help me with this?
    I made a purchase after activating the bonus reward and the normal cashback got tracked still the bonus challenge shows $4.54 to go and shows shop now button. What does that mean?

    As many others have pointed out, tracking has been extremely iffy over the blackfriday-christmas sales periods for any upsized/bonus promotions. I've lost out on many. Shopback rep comes on here to promise to help people have a look, but they're only helping where it helps their PR image.

    not worth the mental effort to keep track, claim missing/appeal, get condescendingly taught how to use cashback, then repeatedly neg ozbargain posts until they arbitrarily decide to uphold their end of the contract.

    My last amazon purchase via the Shopback app was not tracked, and the challenge bonus cashback also did not track.

    Shopback customer service is also extremely unhelpful - they only provide automated responses and never actually directly answer your questions.

    I've had 2 out of 4 transactions not track through Shopback.

    Cashrewards has far better tracking experience.
