    • Nice find, techfast deal comes to 2,077 if you upgrade the case to match the virco case.

    • Between this and the Dell 5 with i7 what is best? Looks like a coinflip but im a total noob.

    • that links goes to a build paired with 3600. techfast is offering you 5600x?

      • no it doesn't. the virco has slightly better storage/PSU/case but they are basically exactly the same specs

        • weird it what was going through to a 3600 for me earlier. Agreed it is a better deal it appears. techfast generally use their own allied brand ram and cpu cooler so virco deal seems very very good.

          • @p78p: yes I almost purchased it before TF rerealesed the zen3/3080 combo. I am a stickler for the stinge.

            • @abuch47: i've got a TF 5600x/3080 myself. worth the premium for a 3080 i reckon

              • @p78p: nice what monitor/s have you paired it with?

Thanks for sharing. However spending this much on a desktop, shouldn't you pick the components and build the pc yourself instead.
I would be picky for everything ssd, ram… They aren't all the same.

    • +1

shouldn't you pick the components and build the pc yourself instead.

That's assuming everyone can do it. There's a reason there's a big market for prebuilts.

      • -1

I kind of agree except we're talking about a gaming computer and not the everyday person computer :)
Anyway seems like a good deal for a pre-built computer otherwise.

        • +3

          Everyday people buy gaming computers.

    • I’m pretty intimidated by the idea of building my own. I realise that might not be the OzB way but I’m using some of my savings from OzB lifestyle in other areas to pay for a prebuilt gaming PC, plus supporting local business for putting it together.
      Each to their own though

    • these product's clearly aren't targeted for the gamer who has a bit of pc 'know how'.

you are correct in your below comment, anyone who has a bit of an interest and can build a pc would rather pick their own parts and build it themselves. especially when spending this amount of money, of course you want to make sure whatever brands your preference is.

that doesn't mean options like these don't have a place.

the only other added value of builds like this at the moment, is for those who may want to ensure they get a certain part and then mix and match the rest of the parts with another build and sell it off or something.

      • I've been looking at both options. I've been scoping up a 5600X/RTX3070/32gb/1tb system for about $2.5k. Alternatively I can order the Virco system with some upgrades to an almost identical system but with a 5800X for $2.5k… in stock and immediate delivery.

Will the PSU and 240mm cooler be OK to overclock with a 5800X?

  • +1

Man, I really want a PC with AMD 5600x, b550 motherboard and a 6800 or 6800 XT so that I can enable S.A.M.
I have a Xiaomi 34 inch monitor already and wanting to game 1440p.
Waiting for Techfast to make this PC available.

  • Question for pros…if I build this same through newegg.com (by getting items on good deal prices) how much would I save?

    • +1

      tree fiddy

    • Probably slightly more expensive.

  • Did a bit of reasearch…it seems like the average 3DMark score for 10700k based 3070 system (i.e. DELL XPS 8490) is better than 5600X based 3070 system.

    10700k/3070 - Average score: 13319
    https://www.3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=spy%20P&cpuId=26…

    5600x/3070 - Average score: 12433
    https://www.3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=spy%20P&cpuId=27…

Does it make DELL XPS 8490 a better deal than this considering DELL has much more SSD and HHD storage for the same price?

    • That's the average score for a 10700K/3070… Not the Dell 8940 with 10700K/3070. The Dell will be thermal throttled. The benchmark one of the other Dell owners posted was 15% lower than other comparative machines.

      • 'The Dell will be thermal throttled'. How can you guarantee that? IT depends on the CPU load, frequency and length of load on CPU, weather, room temperature etc etc.

        • +1

What makes you think the 8940 will perform to the same level as those other 10700K/3070 systems?

          • @mandelbrot: I was expecting a logical response. By no mean I am advocating 8940 .

            • @oliman: I am also curious, as I am in the market for a system and want to get the best bang for buck.

              • @mandelbrot: Same here mate. I was quiet impressed with luke's new 3080 deal…..but 3080 is an overkill for 1440p gaming (I dnt do 4k gaming). Otherwise love the price, selection of 3080 card, full ATM motherboard and 750w supply for that deal. Honestly I think the supplies will be back by end of feb for CPUs and GPUS and we should be able to find a better deal or build much more cost effective PC ourselves. Patience is virtua in current times.

                • @oliman: Agree. I reckon that's the winner atm. I'm tossing up whether to spec it up to 5900X/3080 and that will serve me for the next 5-8 years.

                  • @mandelbrot: really depends what res 1440p you don't need to spend that much, 2160p+ you'll need to upgrade for anything higher than base refresh rates.

        • That is a known fact, the dell chassis is rubbish and there is virtually no airflow in combination with the use of a stock cooler

  • Hey Luke, what x570's ATX non-wifi and wifi are in-stock, and do we get a chance to choose which brand. Cheers

    • The regular X570 is currently MSI X570-A Pro and the WiFi we have oodles of Gigabyte Aorus Elite WiFi and a few Asus Tuf Plus WiFi.

      • Cheers

      • Also, another thing, if I were to get it unassembled what would be the fastest dispatched time

        • Unassembled order skip build and testing but don't get prioritised ahead of other orders in the queue. So while they might get picked on the same day, an unassembled order would ship same day. Time saving a couple of days overall.

          • @luketechfast: Thanks for all the help just bought myself a system, regarding warranty does it still count if the system is sent unbuilt or do I have to go straight to the manufacturer?

            • @FlipTip: Thanks for your purchase! It varies by manufacturer, some allow direct but most require you to come via the place of purchase, in which case we will assist.

  • So is this better than the Dell deal? I could still cancell it

    • +1

I don't thin this is much better than DELL as there are mixed opinions that 3070 performs better with 10700k due to extra 2 cores. Also, new games will make more use of extra cores. Other than gaming, 10700k is overall better than 5600x in other general usage.

I tried really hard to get my understanding which is better, DELL or this deal. My conclusion is that DELL may be 10% slower in gaming than this but overall faster in general use and has much more storage.

      • Thanks Oliman

        • By the way I also have placed order for DELL XPS 8940 like you. Still struggling to justify to cancel that order over this Ryzen 5600x deal.

I live in Melb which is mostly cold, so hoping weather will play a part in avoiding CPU throttling. If CPU throttling becomes an issue (usually happens with max continues load on CPU, which is not the case in gaming I believe)….I will invest $130 on getting the Noctua cooler and fans and do what others did to replace the stock cooler with Noctua an get 10 to 15 degrees down.

  • Hi Luke, im really considering this pc package. Am i able to pick it up by any chance im from sydney. Thanks in advanced!

    • We're in Adelaide so it's a bit of a hike…

      • Olay all goods mate thanks anyways, just ordered one! But i forgot to put in the word of a preference for a 3 fan gpu, i noticed that comment after i made the purchase. Here is my order number TF137702631. Thanks in advanced bro!

        • +1

No problem, I've added the note to your order, thanks!

  • Would it be better to upgrade the motherboard for wifi 6 or just install a PCIe Adapter myself assuming it supports it on this motherboard? Thanks

    • If you want WiFi 6 you'd need to get an adapter, but you'd also need to uprgade the motherboard to the X570 as a minimum as the B550M Aorus Elite won't have enough room under the GPU for the card.

  • I'm looking at getting a PC just for gaming, mainly fps. Is 32gb RAM overkill? Would 16gb be more than enough?

And I'm not really sure on the difference between the 120mm/240mm liquid CPU cooler options?

    • 16GB is sufficient for any game but if you're into editing or multitasking or serious future proofing get 32GB. The 120mm provides adequate cooling on the lower end chips and will work OK for the higher end chips, but 240mm is a better option for the higher end chips and well worth the additional.

      • Thanks. I'll keep my eye out for more of your deals and will likely pull the trigger on one in the next couple weeks.

  • Hey Luke, what's the exact coolers you guys are using for the 120mm liquid cooler?

    • We're currently using Allied IceCube RGB and Deepcool models

  • I have a warranty question.
After the 1 year if a part fails will all other parts have warranty from the date of purchase - as you would usually expect?

    • +1

Yes, our assembled system warranty is 1 year as standard but other parts may have longer manufacturer warranties and the balance would apply. We assist with processing requests if they need the customer to go back through the place of purchase.

  • Is this still in stock? or what's the ETA for delivery?

Also if I'm trying to future proof Recording - like recording 2 screens at once, and video editing, which CPU option should I get?
    - should I upgrade to Ryzen 7.
    - what do people think about this build based on this deal? - Screenshot: for $2593.00

  • What would be the ETA if I ordered one of these this weekend?

  • Is this in stock? Or what would be the ETA on delivery?

    • These are built to order and will be around the 14 business day mark from order to disaptch.

  • Hey Techfast, I ordered one of these a couple of days ago :( can I benefit from the deal also?

    • If you bought this system recently without applying an active discount code, yes you can claim it, no problem. Please email [email protected]

      • Wow you are amazing! Thanks

  • Hi I've just ordered this with upgrades but I didn't notice a few of my upgrades like x570,240mm aio and 750w psu didn't update in cart only description. Is it possible to have my order updated to this and I pay the difference. Order TF146162631

    • Yes, apologies for the cart issue - please email [email protected] so we can sort it for you.
