    • I get it and I'm with you, but Kayo is the only newscorpse thing I will pay for. As hard as it will be, I'm not going to register for NRL Supercoach this year for the first time in forever, simply because murdoch runs it.

      • +12

i'll miss the sport but i miss my country more. watching it burn makes me sick.

        • Australia is burning?!? Still seems to be one of the best places on the planet to live to me. What exactly is "burning"?

    • petry drops the mic

    • -2

That is a poor reason to down vote. It is an obvious deal.

      • +3

sell out my country? NO deal

      • They literally said

"after Trump was moved on I won't be paying jack shit"

Referencing when Murdoch had fox news broadcast criticism of Trump, sure, they're a "leftie".

        • -1

label away and do you know which countries the australian air force is killing people in currently because that's not a war either apparently just business…

ps you won't find it mentioned much in the abominations media empire

        • +1

Referencing when Murdoch had fox news broadcast criticism of Trump

That is one interpretation. Another is that "murdoch upped his war on australia after Trump was moved on" means that Murdoch, a well known right wing media owner, was relatively quiet with a conservative at the helm, but since the administration change has ramped up ("upped") the pro-right wing messaging, causing little ol's Petry to throw his toys out of the pram, in true Lefty fashion.

          sure, they're a "leftie".

Are you sure? Maybe he could clarify for us all…

      You hero

      • -5

boring sneer mate - you a collingwood fan?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Worked for me. I've been a current telstra customer for years and did pay for an NRL live pass once or twice a few years back. I also have an active Kayo account at $15p/m.

I made sure I was logged into Kayo before redeeming the offer and had no issues applying it.

    • Hey wombat - did this simply get added to your phone bill? Or separate payment process?

      • Hey mate. Yeah, it's part of my phone bill.

        • +1

Thanks - not the answer I was hoping for but that’s not on you!!

          Thanks again 👍🏻

          • +1

@original15: You can choose whatever payment process you want. Credit card or linked to your Telstra pay

            • @TightTerry: Serious? Legendary thanks - to confirm you went through Telstra page rather than logging in via kayo?
You didn’t have an existing kayo account did you?

  • +5

Worked for me on boost. I was on Telstra before though. The voucher code might be generic. TLSLP20 is the code. Good luck. I pretended to register again and code worked.

    • Code is generic but requires verification with an active Telstra account.

    • I'm not sure if this will work as on the next page it says:

"This offer is only available to eligible Telstra customers with an active Telstra account."

      • -1

        It does work.

        • +1

Have you tried logging in or creating an account that doesn't have a Telstra ID attached to it?

          • @henrus: Fair enough - looks like there is a secondary verification after logging in to Kayo and entering the voucher.

  • I keep gettingsorry but you need an active subscription to take up this offer, when clicking through from Telstra

EDIT: reactivate your Kayo sub if this is happening for you, then apply the code

  • couple of questions, I use AFL live pass a lot:

Is it still free Telstra data to stream?

Can we still watch previous seasons matches like how it was through the app?

    • yes. just not live stuff

  • so Kayo will compete with Optus Sports now :) Makes complete business sense

    • +2

      and Stan.

  • +1

Hate everything about fox, but couldn't say no to this deal, thanks OP.

  • Mine is showing the $5 per month but when I click through to sign up it takes me to Kayo which has this
'Unfortunately, as you already have an account with Streamotion this offer isn't available for you. If you'd like, check out the options available for you below:'
The options below are $25 pm for basic - any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Same stupid thing kept coming up with the free Binge promo so I just gave up

    • That came up for me the first time, but I closed every page and started again and it worked the next time. Did it on my phone's browser.

      • I'll try that - now getting this straight from the Telstra page once clicking through
'Sorry Looks like something went wrong on our end!
We're working on the problem, please try again later.'

    • Got it working - cheers OP ;)

      • Yeah,

Same problem. Had to try a few times but it worked eventually.

  • It's telling me that I'm eligible on the Telstra site, but when I get to Kayo I get this error: "Your account is in the process of being cancelled. To use this voucher, please reactivate your account."

    Anyone have an insight?

    • Reactivate your kayo account, I cancelled my sub recently as cricket was done but after reactivating i was able to apply the $5 promo

      • Well my account isn't cancelled, that's the weird thing.

  • ugh I used free AFL/NRL league pass before since i was on a telstra mobile plan but never registered an account so I only see the $15/mth for 12 months offer

    • Can you see the voucher code for that offer?

      • on the telstra hub it reverts to $15/month and is the same once it goes through to Kayo

Found out I was able to access the $5/month by doing it on my phone as I had AFL/NRL pass registered to my mobile number instead of my Telstra email address!

Today, we've made an announcement to replace Live Pass in the AFL Live App and NRL Official Apps with Kayo. This means we can no longer bring you live matches through the apps.

As huge fans ourselves, we get how important it is to be able to watch the game where you want. Which is why we got together with our friends at Kayo to create something we think you'll be excited about.

If you're a Telstra mobile customer and have used Live Pass subscriber on the Official AFL or NRL app prior to December 2020, you'll be able to score $20 off Kayo for just $5/mth for 12 months - that's 80% off the standard price on us. A Kayo Basic subscription gives you access to every AFL and NRL round and 50+ other sports, live and on-demand. Plus, Kayo works on tablets, web and Smart TVs.

Today's news follows the recently updated sports broadcast rights from the AFL and NRL. Check out Telstra Exchange for all the details on why we're making this change. If you're eligible, you'll hear from us well before the season kicks off.

  • What about boost customers? Any discount available?

    • Seems to work for some boost customers but not me - read above.

  • Thx, thought i would miss out cos only signed up last week, worked fine

  • +2

Steps i took and this worked: log into existing Kayo account, reactivate ($25month), enter TLSLP20 code, brings down to $5 month, then will take you to sign in page to Telstra, SMS verification, then enter details for payment to activate $5 a month.

    • Mine breaks at the Telstra bit - not sure how you got that working if you hadn't previously used AFL/NRL.

    • +1

Doesn't work unless u have Telstra account. you must have one with some service

      • Like others on here I should have it through Boost but does not seem to the case for me.

  • I keep getting the "This mobile number is already connected to Streamotion account. Sign in using your existing Binge or Kayo Sports email….", most likely when I signed up for the free trial.
When I sign and and try again, it keeps saying the same thing..

Anyone else experienced the same thing?

    • When I sign into my streamotion account it will sometimes accept the voucher TLSLP20 but then it wants me to verify with my Telstra ID which does not work.

    • Same, keeps going in a loop. Login Testra, login Kayo, back to Telstra etc

      Cant do it

      • Yeah similar issue, closed all my apps and browser and gave it a rest, as they might be getting hit hard on sign ups. I then gave it another go and thank you Telstra for Kayo for $5.00 best deal in sport for 12 months. 👍🏻

        • Nice one, want to split? 2.50 each even better deal :). Pm me.

    • +1

Same here. It turns out I setup an account ages ago when one of the gambling sites was giving away free trials. I went through all my old passwords and eventually logged in a now I'm good. So I think it means you have an existing account.
The other catch was that the reset password link never worked either so I was just lucky I remembered my old password.

      • Yep same. Used an throw-away email for the free bet365 kayo 3 month subs. Used my actual mobile on one of them. Worked it out eventually and had to contact them to change the email/phone as it wouldn't work through app/web.

  • Thanks for this. Just signed up.
My dad will be happy he can now watch the a-league on the Xbox/pc.
$5 per month is a great price even if it supports Ruppert.

  • I don't have access to this deal sadly. I'm happy to pay $5 per month to anyone who wants to share their Kayo since it allows upto 2 screens. Inbox if anyone interested.

  • mine still says $15 :( Although went through.. So now fun on help I assume :(

  • Just signed up using boost account.

    Used mobile login and resubscribed.

    • Did you have live pass previously?

      • +1

Yes I've had active (free) subscription past few years.

  • +5

    Got it working with boost…

    • Downloaded the afl app
    • opened the app
    • it said something about kayo offer with telstra, clicked on score offer
    • webpage opens to login with telstra account. Since I don't have a telstra account I clicked on login with mobile (must disable wifi first)
    • eventually i get taken through to signup on the offer with kayo
    • Did you have life pass previously? I have tried this method but did not work.

      • yeah i did…but i didn't login to the afl app

        • Thanks. Seems like having used the live pass before is a pre-requisite.

    • +1

Worked for me on Boost too. I previously had the AFL Live Pass. I accessed the link in the deal on 4G and then got sent an SMS with a verification code to apply for the offer.

      • +3

Have to say it is a bit sucky to take away something that was previously included in my boost plan (even if I did not use it) and then not even allow me to access this special offer (which having to pay for is a bit suspect but I would take it since I use Kayo for F1)…

  • great deal nice

  • Anyone know if this would give me nba access?

    • NBA is on Kayo, yes.

      • live… No

        • +2

Kayo has ESPN which has something like 10 NBA games live a week.

        • All games when originally shown are live.

  • +1

Saw this announcement - thank you OP.

I will be applying just before Round 1 AFL kickoff!

  • worked. Kayo is sorted for a year, thanks OP!

  • This is awesome. This was my last month of the $15 deal so it's perfect.

  • Does this deal include soccer like the FA Cup as well?

    • FA Cup is on ESPN, I believe, which is part of Kayo. No EPL though.

      • thanks. yeah EPL is Optus sport

    • Yes, can confirm watched last Arsenal game v Southamption. No regular EPL though

      • thanks yea EPL is optus sport

  • I had NRL pass on my service I ported to Woolworths a month ago, the remaining service only offers the 15 per month deal :(
Is this offered via a code someone can share or it's linked and billed through your Telstra account?

    • +1

A few people have mentioned the code already if you read back.

  • Can you watch cricket as well ?

    • +1

All the Australian international cricket and BBL was/is on it this summer. Individual tours seem to be a case by case basis. The upcoing England/India test series seems to on Kayo. Also domestic Sheffield Shield and one day comps. Most recent IPL and CPL were on there too, I believe.

    • -1

One Dayers only, tests are on free to air

      • +1

The tests were on Kayo too.

  • anyone got this working that hasn't used live pass before?

    • Yes

      • How? Trying to access through Boost without having use the AFL/NRL before but no dice…

I suspect potentially there is a Telstra account problem whereby I migrated my number from Telstra to Boost before.

      • ok as per your instructions above I assume about renewal & use code

        • Let me know how you go but didn't work for me. Maybe Deal-Sniper is with Telstra rather than Boost so that may be the difference…

          • +1

@lukethefish: no I can get as far as the $5 by applying the code but then it tells me to log into my telstra account to get the offer

            • @Irishness: Yeah same. Currently on live chat w/ Telstra agent who says he is on the case of fixing my Telstra account. Seems like it is not linked with Boost.
