    anyone go 50/50?
    i posted in classifieds $3pm

    • +2

be wary of sharing Kayo. As it's streamotion, the other account user can activate Binge as they share the same password and you cannot set separate passwords. By the way, wasn't me that negged you.

    • -1

      lol desperate

  • Signed up and great deal thanks op

  • What's an AFL/NFL Live Pass?

    • +2

Something to watch AFL/NRL I think that was previously included for some Telstra/Boost customers but now they are doing away with it and forcing people onto Kayo at additional cost.

      • -1

        Not forcing. Offering.

        • +1

Ok well they if they want to retain the service they previously paid for as part of their subscription they are now forced to pay extra. If you want to be pedantic.

          • @lukethefish: It was always a bonus, limited time offer.

I’ve been using AFL Live Pass for years and really enjoyed getting it for free. But I’m not gonna lament its loss and I’m just gonna enjoy this decent offer. Kayo for $5/month, awesome.

            • @sween64: Yep unfortunately I can't even access the Kayo deal like many others … Which just rubs it in a bit more.

    • Streaming services for AFL/NRL.

  • If anyone wants to split theirs PM me..

    • pm'ed

  • +1

will happily split with anyone, PM me too :)

    • Pm'ed you

  • Good deal.

I have a Streamotion account, but no active subscription.

Initially I was signed in to Telstra but not Kayo, clicked through, signed in to Kayo and recieved the message that I wasn't eligible due to already having an account. Went back again and clicked through the Telstra offer already signed in to both and it worked.

  • Thanks OP, redeemed. Thats AFL/NRL/NFL sorted for a year!

  • also happy to split with someone as I can't get the deal either, pm please

  • Can't get the deal, happy to split with someone or get someone's who won't be using this, PM me please.

  • +1

anyone managed to get onto this deal where the phone is a work phone account?

    • +2

I tried a few different ways - no joy. Kept getting errors.

Might give it a go late tonight to see if it was just the system getting pounded - but I am not hopeful.

I had an AFL pass previously - so hopefully we can use support to resolve - but I am pretty burnt on Telstra support lately. Maybe Kayo can help.

  • Cant get mine to work, says its sending a code to some number ending in a random three digits completely different to my phone number that whoas as eligible so I can't get the text message.

    • click the update mobile number button below it and should resend

      • Yes, to the random number, not my number.

    • Is the random number attached to a data plan of yours or something, like an iPad? If so you might be able to get the message on that device.

      • I only have 1 service, post paid mobile.

        61******485
Mine ends in 281 and have never had a post-paid or pre-paid phone number or data sim ending in 485.

        Anyone else got this bug?

        • +1

Yes, I have the exact same thing. My number ends is 732. The number they sending pin to is 675. Some poor sod will have a million messages from Telstra.
          Edit*
Should add, 2020 I transfered from Telstra (plan) to prepaid(boost). But had activated livepass when on a plan. So can't see why not eligible.

          • +1

@D3AB: same, got a Telstra account with 1 plan in it, and got a Boost (activated on same email, but not visible in Telstra account)
Tried to activate the Telstra, and pin was sent to Boost mobile!
            bug much.

            • @battler: At least you could access your pin! I predict the person who previously had my number also had this other number the code it being sent to…Telstra legacy database hasn't been updated, no way around it for me :(

          • @D3AB: And support at Telstra is non-existent. Call the number, they say message us, message them they say you'll need to call for that, repeat. Don't know how they think they can charge a premium for their products and provide zero customer service.

          • @D3AB: I've been getting someone's PINs all day today..

Never had anything to do with Kayo but customer of Telstra.

Hit them with ACMA unsolicited spam complaint after Kayo/Streamotion refused to remove my number.

    • I had this problem. Fixed it by opening up the My Testra app on phone. Clicking on profile, then account settings, the personal details. I have no idea why but my mobile in there was set to a different number than the mobile of the account.

      Might be worth a shot.

      • Tried this, no fix :(

        • Bugger.

  • Will have to jump back onto Telstra when my Kogan sim runs out to make use of this.

  • +2

Employee posts cheap Kayo deal on Ozbargain. Subsequently witnesses Ozbargainers splitting the deal amongst themselves. 🤣

    • I thought the same but then they know that happens so what the hell, it's OZB after all

    • Sharee Ozbargain opportunist realises Kayo and Binge share same username and password so activate sharers Binge account, or better still, if it's already activated, gets a free ride on Binge. Just a sharers beware post. Streamotion runs both Binge and Kayo and you cannot have a separate password on them.

  • One of the number in my account had the live pass activated. So I just hit sign up button, login into Kayo and apply it to the account with the $15/mth deal I had previously. Now it says the next payment is $5. Just in time that my sub is expiring soon. Thanks!

  • Awesome that it can be added to an existing account!

  • from my mobile (boost sim) , turn off wifi, I opened and updated the the AFL app and signup kayo for $5/month. but only valid for 12 months only ..

    • Nice one, pm if willing to split subs and cost, cheers

    • Did you think it’d be forever?

    • Did you had LivePass subscription?

    • If I tether of someone who has Boost will this work too?

  • Can I sign up to this for 12 months (current Telstra post paid plan) and then leave Telstra (for ALDI mobile) when contract expires in 2 months? Or will I then lose the kayo discount?

  • +4

One of the main reasons for a Telstra service WAS for the AFL Live, now that's gone? This is like a major change in terms and conditions for me.

I /may/ go with the $5 offer, but I don't expect to watch any other of the sports on the platform. There is more than enough time commitment to the AFL.

    • Will you no longer be able to watch AFL games thru the AFL app if you're with Telstra ?

      • +1

        No.

  • Awesome thanks for the heads up. Signed up

  • Can anyone confirm if this offer is only applicable to exisitng Live pass holders as Telstra have stopped Live pass now. I'm with Telstra postpaid but without Live Pass currently and I'm not seeing this offer, only $15 for 12 months

    • +2

certainly appears that way, haven't found anyone yet who has managed to signup without it unless through boost

      • Even then there only seems to be one person saying they managed to sign up through boost without any history of having used the AFL/NRL services…

  • +4

As someone who only cares about AFL, this sucks. Was only with telstra for the free afl live pass, literally just renewed my boost $150 prepaid plan last week and now this happens. I dont mind paying $5/month to watch footy but in a year i'll be forced to pay $25/month. (profanity) that shit. Looks like 2021 will be the last year I follow footy

    • Could be worth taking it up with ACCC Fair trading etc… it's pretty lame.

      • I'm in the exact same book as Iwilltakeit and I'm considering my options too like you say lukethefish. Literally came to boost less than a week ago specifically for the AFL live pass. I'd pay the $5 per month but it won't work for me

        • On live chat with Telstra right now and they deny that Boost has anything to do with Kayo… which is also what Boost told me earlier. The whole thing is a bit of a joke.

    • +2

I can understand not being happy if you recently signed up to Telstra but Boost never advertised the Live Pass as an inclusion, it was a loophole as such that it was available in the first place.

      • +1

Agree. Not sure why boost customers are complaining about not getting access to telstra offers.

    • I really hope this renews each year like the live pass.

If not it looks like everyone is getting the wool pulled over their eyes. Sure we get a great service for $60 for a year. But then what? Live pass was one of the reasons Ive stuck with Telstra for so many years (and I'm with Telstra, not boost). If there's no renewal then it makes it easier for me to jump ship. If it renews then I'm super happy, but it's not really worded like that.

  • Thanks

  • Just tried and it all worked fine, then got a email payment declined??? Now I can't update payment as it won't let me and I can't signup again as I get a voucher error…… Fml

  • I’m a boost customer and was able to redeem the deal and launch Kayo. I had to re activate my subscription but only got a 14 day trial then $24.95 pm billed from Apple Pay (iTunes subscription). There’s nowhere to redeem code in the app or on the website presumably because I had no choice but to use Apple itunes subscription which may be part of the problem. I’ve submitted a support ticket to Kayo so will see how this goes

    • +1

      Update. Got it working
      Had to:
      clear safari cache
      Uninstall Kayo app
      Turn off wifi
      Reopen the URL from OP
sign up to a new Kayo account including new mobile number and email address (wife’s)
Select the $5 per month plan and enter a credit card
      Done!

      • this worked for me also, cheers!

  • +1

    This is ridiculous.

I've long been an AFL Live Pass Customer and am an existing Telstra customer - can't get this to work. How frustrating.

  • Boost customer, worked for me. Existing Live Pass user.

  • Im clearly not a true OzBargainer. Never even considered splitting a $5 a month sub. $60 for a year of sports is fine by me.

  • If anyone has Telstra/boost and isn’t looking at using this deal I would be forever grateful!

  • Happy to pay $5 per/month for anyone who managed to get this work! Please PM if keen. Cheers

  • Managed to get the offer, but in the kayo account it is pending state and shows $5 from the next billing date. Is that normal?

  • +1

This is a great deal initially but it kind of reads like in 12 months time there will be no benefit, would rather keep the free AFL live pass for years to come than just a 12 month benefit.

  • Awesome deal. Successfully redeemed. Thanks OP!!!

  • Will this specific deal work on the Kayo Android TV app? ie. redeem the offer and put my details into the Kayo app on my TV media box and it works? It's not just a 'phone/tablet only' thing?!

    • +1

Yeah the subscription will work on the Android TV app. I suspect you will have to do the sign up process on another device though.

  • You need to have been a live pass subscriber prior to 22/12/20 & still have the service you used to sign up to it currently active to be eligible for this offer.
Shattered $5 p/m would've been great oh well

  • hello guys,

Unfortunately I cannot get this to work on my account. If anyone has a spare slot available I'd love to join your account. Happy to pay 6 months ahead. PM me :)

  • Great deal - thank OP!

  • +1

If I transfer away from Telstra after I have taken up this deal, can I still continue to get it for $5/month? Or do I need to have an active Telstra account? Is it billed straight from Kayo or Telstra?

  • Does Kayo still have better resolution than Foxtel Go? From memory for the NRL and Supercars, Kayo ran 1080 whilst Foxtel Go was a lower res…

    • +1

From my memory of F1 on Kayo vs its predecessor (Foxtel Play?), Kayo is alot better.

  • Does kayo have the AFL shows shown on fox footy, like AFL 360 ?

    • +1

Yeah. It streams the Fox Footy channel along with all the Fox Sports channels. Also has catch up.

  • If anyone wants to split their kayo pm me 😊

  • I’m a Telstra post paid for years, click on the deal, takes me to Telstra which logs me in, texts me a on time code, put that in, takes me to stream which I log into.
Then takes me to the Kayo app and when I log in it gives me only $24 subscription and to pay with Apple Pay?

    Any ideas?

    • +1

delete the app, sign up in browser, re-download app

      • For some reason, i had to log in and out about 4 times for it to work, even after deleting the app

  • +1

Does anyone know when this offer expires? I want to use it for the F1 season that begins in March, would like to activate this offer just before then.

    • +1

just hook it up now bro. the cost between now and March is ten bucks. hardly a cost of large big mac meal. It might end and you'll be out of a deal

      • +1

but you get an extra 2months later if you dont want to use now

    • +1

When you put the voucher code in it says 31st May. You would want to check in advance that the offer works for you however.

  • +3

While this is a good deal in its own right, it sucks for people who really valued LivePass and religiously stuck with Telstra because of it. Hopefully the AFL app will continue offering streaming of radio stations covering games.

  • yep worked for me! thanks OP!!

  • Anyone want to hook me up with a Telstra email they’re not using?

  • Hoping to share someone's account. Happy to pay $60 upfront for the privilege

  • How does this work? Do I have to sign up with a credit card and they take out $5/Month or does it come out of prepaid credit or do I pay $60 upfront?
