Hi folks, was just in the middle of posting these 2 deals when the Dell deal landed. Think our i7 variant compares favourably in important areas - CPU cooling (ours has 120mm liquid cooling included), the Gigabyte 650W Bronze PSU and a higher airflow case - discussion can be had around theirs including activated Windows 10 but the OzB community knows alternatives there, and they've done well to include the 1TB NVME SSD no doubt. Obviously our i5 deal represents the same unbeatable value as the previous AMD deal posted by TA deal (expired and AMD variant not likely to return soon).

Core i5-10400F | RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $1477 after 10400F-3070-MAR

  • Intel Core i5 10400F 6c/12t processor
  • Deepcool Gamma Archer 120mm fan cooler - plenty of these are on hand but if/when these go out of stock an upgrade to a 120mm liquid cooler will be required as the stock Intel cooler will not handle the load the 3070 puts on it - we've tested it. The i5-10600KF CPU upgrade is available but will require the 120mm cooler upgrade to ensure optimal thermals.
  • RTX 3070 8GB (Galax, MSI, Gigabyte, Asus still being used)
  • B460 motherboard (various brands/models, Biostar not included for this deal) - B460 WiFi, Z490 and Z490 WiFi upgrades available
  • 16GB 2666MHz (brand/model may vary)
  • 480GB 2.5" SSD (brand/model may vary)
  • Gigabyte P650B 650W 80 Plus Bronze power supply
  • Lance-V RGB ATX case

Core i7-10700F | RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $1777 after 10700F-3070-MAR

  • Intel Core i7 10700F 8c/16t processor
  • Bundled 120mm all-in-one liquid cooler (brand/model may vary)
  • RTX 3070 8GB (Galax, MSI, Gigabyte, Asus still being used)
  • B460 motherboard (various brands/models, Biostar not included for this deal) - B460 WiFi, Z490 and Z490 WiFi upgrades available
  • 16GB 2666MHz (brand/model may vary)
  • 480GB 2.5" SSD (brand/model may vary)
  • Gigabyte P650B 650W 80 Plus Bronze power supply
  • Lance-V RGB ATX case

Our regular 14 business day from order to dispatch estimate applies to these systems.

Dispatch for the TA deal systems is continuing this week. We haven't had any update thus far on the 3080s for that deal - hoping to hear this week as shipments post CNY start to arrive in the country.

Cheers
Luke

  • No case changes available to branded cases with better drive accessibility?

  • How long left on the deal? I'm pretty keen but honestly might sleep on it to decide between the i7 or the i5.

    • Rep said it would last for a few days above.

    • +1

I slept on it and referred to my "genius" pc friends. Ended up going i5, better value, not after much multitasking moreso just raw gaming. He said for my needs itll be more than enough compared to my gtx1050 laptop.

  • This or the earlier R5 3600 deal?

    • I assume you mean this one (Feb)?
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600597

That is $200 more for 5600X.
      CPU performance would be similar?
      https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-10700F-v…

Unless you are referring to this (boxing day):
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/593842
But this looks like it is not available.

      • I wouldn't trust cpuuserbenchmark, they've been known to skew data weighting to put Intel in a better light,
when ryzen was picking up steam they decided the most important factor with a CPU was 4 core performance. And even now they've highly weighted memory latency to push amd down and Intel up

      • No this one which I have on order, wondering if it is worth cancelling and swapping to the Intel https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/602202

        • Stick with what you got. That’s probably going to be the deal of the year with this coming in 2nd. Intel slightly better for gaming (like a frame per second better), ryzen slightly better for everything else.

  • Is the upgraded 750W PSU modular ?

    • +1

      Yep, from Giga or MSI

  • How’s this compared to the last deal if anyone can help?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/602202?_gl=1*111cstg*_ga*aHR6VDZmcXBsS2dxcEpSRkhpWnItWHdKNTZ2U1hXVlNHZElFaDEyNllQZWFRVERBeVI1NEFCZFZIdFloU1drbQ..

    • i5 is basically the same, except is Intel based. Slightly better motherboard + CPU cooler but they're more or less a wash.

      • I thought the 3600 is better than i5 specially for multitasking.
I have the 3700X and it seem to beat any intel CPU I’ve used.
So I think the ARSECRUSHER deal is better, pity it has expired :(

  • Hi Luke, I really like the NR200 ITX case, it there any way to have the whole setup on it? I understand the mobo will need to be changed as well. I am happy to pay the difference if it's not a lot.
    Thanks!

    • Sorry, we're not setup for that level of customisation unfortunately.

      • OK,thanks.

      • Hi Luke, instead of this big case, is there anyway to change to a nice small case? Thanks.

        • The GPUs are all really long so require a larger case. We don't have a more compact option that fits the required length available in sufficient quantity.

    • +1

We only use Australian distributors. Just because a retailer is out of stock doesn't mean everyone is.

    • +6

      wtf is this comment???

Where do you think other retailers are doing?
      Nvidia allocate stock

Once retailers sell out, its natural to look elsewhere.
What difference does it make if it out of stock at our own retailers already???

This comment only exist if theres a GPU made in Australia, which we clearly dont.

Holy shit, Luke has such a hard time with people already, if you dont like, dont buy.

      • +1

You can’t please everyone, but there is that 10% that are so annoying.
You want them to go somewhere else (so they can annoy your competitors), but they still come to you and annoy you for more discount, service and information etc.

  • Already have a PCIe wifi card and m2 SSD, would the B460 mobo have space for those?

  • Hi,

What Liquid cooler brand and model is used?

  • I just grabbed the 10400f version, hoping my 3070 is a reference PCB so I can put a waterblock on it. Price seems really good if you break down the parts.

  • +1

Any thoughts on using one of these for MS Flight Sim 2020? Any good or is the Previous AMD offer better. Anyone using MSFS and got any recommendations on what spec would give reasonably good performance.

  • This i7 deal + $149 motherboard + $49 RAM upgrade = $1977
    OR
    Ryzen 5 5600X RTX 3070 Gaming PC [120mm LC/B550M Aorus Elite/240 NVME/16 3200/650B]: $1988 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600597)

    Thoughts please?

    • +1

This one is slightly better value due to bigger nvme drive and more memory for the same price, but for geek factor the amd setup offers arguably better cpu performance by a smidge / better overclockability & thermals with newer technology and lower power consumption. But really that’s all. They are both extremely capable PCs. I’d say unless you want to use the AMD platform because you’re a bit of a techie then this Intel would be the better option.

  • anyone else stuck, only needing a gpu for their build?
hahahha, these deals are killing me.

  • +2

Hi all.Im new to Ozbargain and I'm glad I found this deal.Just ordered the i710700f with upgrades to Ram 16gb,Motherboard Z490 and 750w power supply, for my son.Your comments and replies from Luke were very helpful to a novice like myself. My son is excited and so am I, cant wait to receive it.
Luke, does this system come assembled or in pieces, and are the main components supplied as advertised brands?
    Thanks

    • +1

System will be assembled unless you request it otherwise, as for brands they will use what they advertised but to what you get will be a bit of a lucky dip.

    • +1

I don't have too much to add to XiTau's reply. You picked a great spec and the component models and brands you receive will vary between a few but none will disappoint. They're all recognised brands. Thanks for your order!

      • Thanks to you both for the swift replies.

  • Considering buying as a main PC and was also going to be set to mining. Has anybody got experience with similar specs?

  • Luke - if i made an order today - whats the guestimated time in my possesion in QLD
    TY

    • Estimated 14 business days to dispatch plus delivery time which is usually 3-4 days to Qld.

  • hi Luke, I was just wondering if a case upgrade to a Forge 100R was possible for a price

and is there any list of specific models rather than just brands you guys use for the 1TB NVME m.2s?

    • Not right now sorry, need our allocation to be confirmed and come in.

      • May I ask if you have orders for 50 of these pre-built PC's with rtx3070's and only receive 30 in your allocation what normally happens? as possibly like many here I'm only interested in the GPU and selling the rest!

        • +4

We only sell as many GPUs in systems as we have confirmed allocated to us by both manufacturer and distributor. Overselling allocations is a one-way ticket to disasterville in the current market.

          • @luketechfast: ok thanks, apologies also where is the best place to mention that I do not want the PC assembled

            • @amisty79: In the Notes field during checkout, or via email. We will have a checkbox for Unassembled Shipping on our new website which is in Beta now, but for now, those two options.

  • the hero we need!

  • How many total hard drive bays (not SSD) is available on the Lance-V RGB ATX case?

    • 2 x 3.5"

  • i5+3070 build no longer available?

    • Hoping it is still available 🤞🏻

    • Yep. It is showing 'out of stock' for me. i7 still available though.

    • +1

Sold out. Kept thinking for too long and now it's all gone.

      • But you can still add to cart, right?

    • Looks like it is now back in stock.

  • +1

Good timing. This has finally made me jump back into a gaming PC after almost 20 years. Looking forward to getting the i7.

    • +1

Same here! It’s so much fun! I love it!

I missed so much in between, cpus with standard fans, gpus getting massive and having a beast of a cooler on them, cases with tempted side glasses and mesh open style with ton of airflow.

I wish I could get 1 year return to base warranty but still build it myself.

  • Great deal. Just bought the I7 one. Upgrading from i7 6700 + 1070. Looking forward to receiving it !!! Thanks for posting this deal.

  • Hi guys just wondering is it necessary to upgrade cooler? Noob here. Would it change much? Im looking at upgrading mob, ssd and psu. The i7 unit..

    • I think (think, as I'm also a noob taking on others advice). Techfast build these with the knowledge the cooler is enough, if you are someone who may overclock components and have the knowledge to do it. Upgrading a cooler can be useful.

      • Thanks for your reply. It's only $49 so il add just in case

      • +1

Both of these CPU's are F types and not overclockable. If you plan on changing over the CPU at some point then maybe consider it (or consider it if you do change it).

  • Both now marked OOS

  • +1

It's out of stock damn. I wanted it. Too slow

    • Same, hoping there will be some other 3060 build soon. Maybe even 3080.

  • +1

Has anyone received one of these yet ?

    • Ordered the night of the order, doubt anybody would have received them or had them posted yet. The 14 day turn around build is scheduled a week from now.

  • +1

Hi Luke, any chance to get another rtx 3700 build in near future? I'm so pissed off myself to miss this and the TA build.

    I'd jump on a 3060 ti or 3070 setup.

    • +1

All our current alocation is fully sold through so it will be after we hear about future allocations.

      • Thanks mate, I'll keep an eye

  • +3

Anybody else check here, the account page on techfast.com or their emails daily? no, just me?

Are you on track for the 14 business day turn around with these Luke(Early next week)? Very excited for my first PC(non laptop)!

    • +1

You're not the only one… and it would be nice to know how these are coming along.

      • +1

Emailed them this afternoon for an update. Will report back.

        • Have you heard back from them? It has been 3 business days since I emailed them, still no response :(

          • @s20525xxx: No, I emailed late Friday afternoon. Understandably so I haven't had a reply.

            • @Fooah: Just checked the order confirmation email again, they stated they won't reply to email checking order status unless it is close to the end of promised 14 business day processing time…

But pccasegear has updated their status page claiming their shipment has landed, so shouldn't be too long before techfast receives their stocks

              • +1

@s20525xxx: Today is the 14 day business day window
for me. Ordered on the 23rd. Hopefully they give some clarity on here or via email, I think I've watched every 3070/gaming pc setup video on YouTube by this point lol

                • +1

@Fooah: In fairness there was a public holiday in SA during this time, so still at 13 days (12 for me). Hopefully we'll know soon what the ETA's are. I also feel the 'watched every 3070 YouTube's thing as well. I've also done all my research post purchase

                  • +1

@ausdan: Post purchase research also, except for the CPU… Before I hit buy i wanted to know it wouldn't be a drag on the 3070.

Coming from a 1060 laptop this will be a big jump regardless!

                    • +1

@Fooah: Depend on your monitors and games u play, you could buy a 3060 for $800 and sell the 3070 for $1200. 3060 is quite capable, essentially a 2070 super. 10400f is under powered for 3070 IMO, unless u bought the 10600KF bundle

                      • @s20525xxx: Yeah I run a 1440p/165 and 4k/60. I think it should be ok for most applications, from what I've researched itll just be niche applications/games(for my use anyway) that will bottleneck the gpu.

Any word back today guys? No reply on my email yet.

                        • +1

@Fooah: Nope, will email again on Wednesday

                          • +1

@s20525xxx: Got an update from Techfast, 3070s are still being shipped to the suppliers and is holding up completions of the systems. They have been partially built and will be ready once the cards arrive and can be tested.

Eta card to come end of this week or early next.

                            • @Fooah: Thanks for the update. I requested mine unassembled, hopefully will save sometime :)

                              • @s20525xxx: No problem, pretty happy with how transparent they are. Hoping to get the system next week.

                                • @Fooah: I got an email back from them, they are expecting next shipment to arrive next week… I guess that means I will get it next week as the earliest. All the 80 cards from last week are used, I think.

                                  • @s20525xxx: When did you order? I hope I don't share the same fate. Week 2 of laptop being returned to work and struggling on an iPad…..

                                  • @s20525xxx: Next week as in the week starting the 29th or this week?

                            • +1

@Fooah: Wait what? So this offer was posted up here based on the fact that the component stock was not on hand? I took this offer up under the impression that I would receive my system close to the 14 working day claimed period.I am now concerned that this will drag on for well over that period.
Luke you should at least come out of hiding, and clear this up for the sake of transparency please. Thank you

                              • @Petert696: I ordered on the 24th of Feb, im going to assume when pccasegear and scroptec have 3070's in stock that techfast will have them also

""So this offer was posted up here based on the fact that the component stock was not on hand?""

I think this is mostly normal for techfast

    • +2

I hadn't seen any of these notifications for whatever reason, sorry all! The last notification I got on this post was jekyxmj's comment below. We're definitely a little behind overall but catching up - sytems from this deal are in build so I would anticipate large shipments going out next week.

      • Thank you for clearing that up.

  • +4

Just got an email from techfast as well as AusPost saying my order is on the way! Yeah!

    • Amazing, fingers crossed mine ships tomorrow! Must mean the GPUs are in?

    • Already received the PC today, so excited!
Only one concern, why fans are so loud?
I changed to the "silent" for fan control in BIOS, doesn't seem to help at all?

      • +1

Just wondering what date you ordered it?

        • +1

          I ordered on 23/Feb.

      • What rtx 3070 did you get?

        • +1

          Galax Dual fan version
