      • Aus warranty yes. I used to be someone who cared a lot about that sort of thing, but in the price range of 200 to 600 I honestly stopped caring. From my experience phones end up being perfectly fine. Out of all the tablets and phones I've ordered from china in the last few years, thankfully none have ever had issues and I don't think that's just me being lucky. Sure it's a hassle if it ever does happen but I'm happy to take the risk for 600. Wouldn't do that for a $2000 phone, that's too much.

For 200-300 nothing in Aus has a SD processor, AMOLED 60/120 and a whole bunch of other stuff the new Note's bring.

Cant get the coupon to apply no matter what I do

  • -2

Cant get the coupon to apply no matter what I do

    • The answer is on the 3rd line of the post.

      • -1

        "….no matter what I do"

Funnily enough I've done that 10 times. Still wont apply on checkout.

        • +3

Coupon valid from 8th of March 7:00pm AEDT

  • will get one, only interested in the magic clone app lol. samsung and iphone dont have it on their phones.

  • +1

Considering an upgrade from Samsung A20 which was my backup phone (Nokia 8 broke recently). No gaming or other high performance app use. Will the Note10 suffice or should I go for Pro?

  • great post, does screen have pwm?

  • buy one or just update my Nokia 8 to Android 11?

  • -1

Just a note that upon checkout there's a 10% gst on top.

Kinda made me feel better about my Poco X3 purchase ($201.87 USD all up from Banggood). :P

    • +1

The prices stated in the OP include GST and the relevant discounts.

      • Ah yes you're right it is, I just realised the onsale price and the current price has a pretty big difference. Thought it was simply related to the $25 coupon. My bad!

  • Are these rooted roms?
    Do they have play store?
    Dial sim?

With some banking apps, can't run on rooted phones

    • Comes with MIUI installed (not rooted). Has play store. Has dual sim.

    • +1

Maybe bootloader unlocked. Some 3rd party vendors flash global ROM to chinese only market phone. They're essentially the same phone, but in order to flash ROM, they need to unlock the bootloader.

Bootloader unlock is basically the key to Android's Pandora's Box. My Xiaomi phones are like this, I bought around the release date and they advertised it as "global" ROM but it's just a fake ROM based on Chinese ROM. I always root my phone anyway

      • @i7980x
Xiaomi will not let the CN versions of their phones anymore to
have google play installed to stop this happening

        • +1

From what I understand, I could be wrong but they just don't allow the CN roms to run the playstore services, not the device. A seller that flashes a CN Phone with a global rom should have play services.

Also I've noticed Sellers have stopped doing that for Xiaomi phones, it still happens but not as much. Happens a lot on One Plus Phones.

  • -2

This is the SD6xx processor, try to get the top end variant with SD732 processor. I am planning to get it for my mom in India.

That variant is called the Note 10 Pro Max 6G+128 for ₹20k about (<$400Aud)

    • +1

I believe the Indian variants don't have NFC.

    • +3

The two phones listed by the OP are the RN10 Pro (global) with the SD732G & RN10 (global) with the SD678. The phone you're talking about, the RN10 Pro Max, in the Indian variant of the global RN10 Pro, with no Band 28, NFC or IP rating.

      • -1

Yeah, you're right I have checked. There is no NFC but I think that's ok cause there is no Eftpos payments. And that's why the price is a bit lower too.

It's so strange & clever how Xiaomi (& sister companies) just makes a outercase and add/remove peripherals depending upon region and variants and sell it for such competitive prices. No wonder they outsell iPhones.

  • I see note 10 has better camera but lesser capcity of battery comparing to X3 NFC but X3 has lower price.

    • One word, AMOLED

      • AMOLED screen burn-in/bleeds after couple years of intense use and yellow tint. It's fine for for everyday phone but for gamers beware.

        • +1

Once you go OLED, any IPS LCD feels outdated. Sony is on of the most notable rock headed company. They kept pushing LCD on their top end range, until they learned on their newer release. I have never ever got any burn in on my Samsung S4, Note 4, S8, Tab S 10.5 and Nexus 6. Also, Motorola Nexus 6 used a lower quality OLED screen as well, but no problem at all. I've owned it for 6 years, daily for 1 year, the rest I used sparingly and the screen is as great as ever.

You only get burn in if you crank up the brightness to the max all the time, and leave the screen on at one UI for longer period of time. I hate punchole notches and weird camera holes on phones, but I'd give in to that for a dirt cheap amoled phone.

          But that's just my preference

  • Not bad for those that want now..keep in mind these will come down in price come May/June.

  • The price is coming up as over $400aud for me for the pro using the coupon.

    • The deal starts in 2 days. Monday 7pm AEDT

      • Oh lol thanks!

  • How would these compare to the Google Pixels?

I was hoping to wait for the Pixel 5a this winter, but I kind of need a phone now. Would these be a better buy than a second hand or refurbished Pixel 3 or 3a or even 4a?

Might also instead just buy a 100$ brick just for calls in the meantime.

    • +2

If you know your way around Android, you can use GCam port. Pixel is way too overpriced for what it is. For the same money, I'd buy S20 FE. Main selling point of pixel is the camera for me and that's about it.

If you dont mind poor battery life, pixel 3 or 3a is solid choice. I bought Xiaomi Mi Max 3 for almost 3 years ago for around the same price as this redmi note 10 pro, the battery is solid, the quality is great. Xiaomi phones are cheap, but not cheaply made, I can vouch for that.

My last Google phone was Nexus 6, then Mi Max, Mi Max 2, and then now Mi Max 3. The quality and performance of the midrange Xiaomis for the price is insane.

      • I've never had a Chinese phone, my main concern is the OS, I keep reading things about bloatware, ads or just buggy implementation ingeneral.

My two options for new phones are either the ones in this offer (which on paper have every single feature I want) or instead going for a cheap, temporary cheap phone such as a Nokia 3.4 or something like a Motorola.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about the camera or things like 5g or gaming. I just want a phone for Whatsapp and calls, general daily use (GPS, banking, NFC transactions…) and the occasional movie (so I prefer OLED displays). As far as the phone has recent software with no bloatware, does not freeze constantly, has a headphone jack and enough RAM and storage I'm happy.

People say that the European Xiaomi had no ads, I don't know about thses.

        • The reviews I've seen about the non-Indian versions of these phones suggest no ads. My previous global Xiaomi phones never had ads but did come with some pre-installed bloatware apps that can easily be uninstalled.

        • +1

The thing is, with Xiaomi phones you can have more freedom on how you are going to customize the OS. Unlike brands like Vivo, Oppo, Nokia, Huawei, etc.

I flashed my Xiaomi phones with ROM from Xiaomi.eu. basically a stock MIUI on steroids, no chinese apps, no ads. No other budget oriented chinese phone company allows you to gain access to bootloader as easily as Xiaomi. The stock MIUI ROM is crap, I prefer vanilla Android, but for what it's worth, I can deal with Xiaomi.eu ROM.

You obviously need to do some homework first with Xiaomi phones, and there are obviously some limitations compared to Google phones. But I don't feel like paying 3 times the price just to have the privilege to use Pixels. So homework it is for me

          • @i7980x: That's good to know, thank you for sharing.

Any experience buying cellphones from Aliexpress? I am aware of the long shipping times and the potential open package as they have to install a global rom, but I am a bit concerned in regards with warranty. If something goes wrong with the phone a few months from now… am I essentially screwed?

Also, would there be any issue with Australian customs?

            • @HigoChumbo: i think you are on your own with regards to warranty.

if a seller does accept a return you will need to pay to send it back. use paypal and enable free returns to minimise your out of pocket expenses https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/returns

shouldn't be any troubles with customs.

            • +1

@HigoChumbo: The days of reflashing CN phones with global roms is long gone.
You will still see CN phones advertised and unknowing people still buy them though.
The RN10 advertised here is a Global version and will come factory sealed.
If a real warranty is of concern then buy from local resellers where you will have a consumer guarantee. You will pay more but you cant have a rock bottom price and black tie service as well. The choice is yours.

          • @i7980x: can you briefly describe those limitations?

I'm in a similar boat, considering Pixel 5 and this phone.

  • Does the coupon stack with referral bonus?
I never used aliexpress and tried quite a few times to register a new one with a randomized referral from ozbargain but all of them returned

Sorry - This promotion is designed for new users…

    no referral bonus is applied

Is it a problem with ozbargain generated url? Can anyone send PM me your referral to let me try again?

    • thanks guys to send me the referral links. It is working. Please someone @moderator to check the customised link. It must have some issue there.

  • +1

Anyone know if a signature will be required, or is just going to be dropped at the door as usual? Never ordered anything expensive from aliexpress before.

    • AFAIK signatures are not being collected for any deliveries from anyone because of COVID.

  • Will this have any problems with Google services? Is this the China version?

    • +1

From what I have read in the comments. No issues with Google services. No - this is a Global version

  • Can I pay with PayPal? I'm new to AliExpress.

    • yes, but make sure you use a card with no foreign transaction fees

      • See my post below. Apparently it's treated as cash advance and fees may still apply.

  • Can someone explain why the USD? Is the offer not the same if we pay in AUD?

How are we meant to pay this?

    • +2

Since AliExpress is not an Australian company, they will charge you in USD.
The price shown in AUD is for you to gauge how it will 'cost you' in your local currency.

You may pay using Paypal or any Card. You will be charged:
      1) The AUD equivalent of the USD Price quoted on the page, based on the exchange rates used by your bank
      2) Foreign transaction fees as may be applicable - check the Help/Support/Charges section of your bank

      For Eg:
CBA charges 3.00% of the transaction fee if you use their Debit MasterCard
      Ref: https://www.commbank.com.au/personal/travel/international-fe…

NAB has a Platinum Visa Debit Card which as 0% International Transaction Fee, albeit the card itself comes with a $10 Monthly Fee, and has other features as well, like 1% Cashback on Contactless Payments.

      • I used PayPal recently for aliexpress with my Bankwest Platinum card which supposedly has no transaction fees for forex. Still hit with fees as apparently Aliexpress uses Cash advance system for PayPal transactions. Probably free with ING card?

        • yeah, i've seen reports of people getting stung with cash advance fees. i did one transaction with macquarie platinum mastercard debit card and no extra fees.

          • @c64: Seems debit card is the way to avoid the fees … but credit cards cop it.

Chatted to Bankwest, they said they are aware of the issue. The CSR said this issue happened a lot in December, but they haven't heard anything since then. What they did say was, paying with a Bankwest credit card direct would guarantee no fees but, using Paypal, would be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, whatever that means. So, any Bankwest customers out there, use Paypal at your own risk.

If anyone has used a Bankwest credit card though Paypal for an AE purchase recently, please let us know of your experience.

        • Did aliexpress fix it already? I paid via paypal from my amex card. I chatted with amex and confirm it is a normal "payment", not "cash advance" transaction.

      • Thank you!

  • -2

S0 what time today are these going on sale?

    • Can you not read or something? It's been said again and again in the comments, as well as in the description.

  • Coupon valid from March 8th 7:00pm AEDT

  • $25 store coupon seems to be gone now. I added when the deal was posted, but unfortunately disappeared….

    • +1

my coupons | seller coupons in your account. otherwise grab the $20 coupon

      • +1

        Thanks mate, it's there.

  • Applying the coupon. Why AU $1,327.03 ?

    • Interesting. Mine was applied automatically …

    • +2

Refresh, it should fix itself. Happen to me too

      • great. fixed. now waiting. It says by Apr 2 :(

        • We will be very lucky to get it by April 2.

Under the orders section, mine says item will be shipped within 43 days. I will be requesting a refund if we head towards 30+ days for shipment, particularly since they claim phones are in stock and those photos of the boxes.

  • Kind of looks like it's grey or grey if you want the pro 128gb version. Only blue in 8gb ram at the moment which is a shame because it costs more and the bronze 6gb coming up as >$1000. Guess it makes the decision easy..

  • Just put order through for 8gb 128 Note 10 Pro at $396.79AUD
Forgot to use the coupon code though for the extra $5USD. don't make my mistake!!!

  • Folks, in your opinion, which is the high end redmi note phone that has 5g and good camera?

  • Got one, thanks OP!

  • +1

it is also an affiliate product, so you might get an extra couple of dollars cashback

  • I ordered at $306 USD delivered but my order now shows $ 1,196.00! I have tried to message them.

Check your orders. Hopefully a glitch but maybe not!

My credit card has been authorised for the equivalent in AUD. I really hope this is not a scam.

    • +1

look at your invoice for the order. if you really stuff up you can cancel the order. view order detail and then request cancellation

that's one mighty fine expensive phone you've bought there :)

    • My order went through for $349 AUD reflected on my CC for the 6/128 version.

      • Good for you pal, my 28 degree shows $351.76 after I use USD currency to buy on AliExpress. You saved extra $3 bucks than me, if there are no hidden fees. :)

    • My paypal went with $268.40 USD as well with 10pro 6g 128gb. You may want to cancel this one and re-order and pay with Paypal to be safer.

      • I'm just going dispute it as a fraudulent transaction with my credit card if they don't respond.

        • on that same page in that screenshot there is a button to cancel the order

          • @c64: Already tried that.

            • @gadgetguy: well if you have cancelled the order, then you need to wait until the seller cancels the order and then you get your money back after several days

              • @c64: Also being reported on reddit now.

              • @c64: Order now cancelled. I've lost the coupon though.

Not going through that again - will wait and order elsewhere, maybe in a couple of months.

                • +1

@gadgetguy: There was a glitch in the system. Happened when I put my order through and it showed in the cart. All you had to do was refresh and it'll update the price…bad luck

    • Happened to me earlier but I noticed before payment.
      Folk above helped me out.

  • Just bought 1. Paid $324. It might be aud/usd rates

    • I suspect you bought the 6/64 version.

      • +1

Nah there's a 6gb 128gb version black or bronze for that price also.

        • +1

          There isn't.
          Factor in GST.
          It's closer to $345-355.

          • @sinners007: Not too sure. I saw that model at $320 price but I had a promotional offering + coupon. Not sure if GST was shown yet or not.

edit: Actually you're right. After GST, it is $353 ish.

      • Yes it is 6/64 10 pro

  • The pricing for N10P 6GB/128GB model is around the same price i bought X3 NFC on launch day

    N10P 6GB/128GB- 263.40USD
    X3 NFC 6GB/128GB - 262.90USD

  • Are cases available yet? Redmi Note 10 Pro.

    • It comes with a clear case. By the time that discolours there should be plenty more options out there.

  • +1

thanks OP, bought one, didn't really need a new phone (Pixel 2XL going strong still)… just wanted to try new tech.
i didn't see a PayPal option, so used VISA.. hopefully nothing goes wrong….

  • Just ordered note 10 pro used $20 coupon & cash rewards, but missed the $5 one darn it I payed in US$ 224 then I will get $14 aud cash rewards seems a ok deal as I was looking to buy note 9 pro was about the same price in Australia. Thanks OP.
