Then I can only assume you haven't tasted good, marbly wagyu. Yum.

  •

The fat distribution and pattern is an valuable and benchmarkable attribute of a steak.

Unless you're a vegetarian, I strongly recommend you try it at least once in your life.

      At least 1-2 times a year :)

I always wonder why this variety of beef is not grown on a larger scale to lower the price.

It's less about the breed, and more about feed/living conditions. Unless you're buying Kobe beef, the wagyu terminology is mostly marketing (not saying most wagyu is bad; they just could've achieved similar results using different cow breeds).

      •

Actually thinking that only Kobe beef is wagyu is a misconception by the rest of the world when Kobe was the main Japan port and when westerners first got introduced to this high quality meat. Wagyu, in Japan, is about four Japanese breeds. The Australian wagyu are a hybrid by cross breeding from one of the four Japan breeds.

very energy intensive / expensive feed and limited market at that price point ……not fo the aldi shoppers ……

  •

Love this! Bad reviews on the store tho? Anyone can comment on their own experience?

    •

I ordered their Trifecta pack last Friday and have received it this morning, I can confirm that the steaks are as pictured

  •

thx op bought a few steaks…

  •

I dont know if they sent me a wrong one (3kg of them!) last time but their rump marble score 9+ is questionable as I had better score 5+ with other supplier.

  •

Is this really good value at $133/kg
Legit asking. I want to try a ms9 steak but don't want to spend this amount if it can be had better?

    •

my local butcher sells 9+ score at $150/kg…

so slight discount on these…but i wouldn't say 50% off…that's probably inflating it a bit

      •

local butcher pick the lice you want and amount, this deal pay for the meat and hope it’s good.

  •

Ordered some last night. The sirloin and Scotch fillet at those prices is killer, especially being Rangers Valley.

  •

    thanks op, bought some

  •

    anyone having issues checking out?

Doesn't work even after creating an account

    •

I didnt even create one. went pretty smooth for me

  •

guess it’s 2 things you need in an old folks home ….girl friend with dentures, and wagu steak if you also have dentures …..

  •

So the original retail price is $80 for 300g? or $266 per kilo? Not sure why I would buy Australian crossbred wagyu when I can get real Japan wagyu for $160 per kilo at my local asian butcher.
