      • Thanks Mate, this worked a treat. Took me ages to get the sale to go through, their website kept crashing and freezing on me. Eventually got it to work on the 128gb Ultra Black. Just received notification that my phone has shipped, happy days. Now just have to sort a case and screen protector, thanks again for the help and also to anyone else who responded to my questions.

    • +1

When in cart there should be option above where you entered the other promo codes.. should say TRADE IN + or something along those lines

  • +2

just got denied the $200 voucher. "If you will trade in a device, the $200.00 voucher code will not work or could not be added on the order."

    • +1

still works for me "Your promo code has been successfully added to your cart and free delivery have been applied to your cart."

      • sorry i meant I asked chat to give me a voucher to stay loyal (Genuinely) and they said the promo no longer applies. So i'm guessing the voucher won't be given out anymore.

        • +1

so sad…i desperately need a new phone but don't want to pay the RRPs. The $500 is nice, but an extra $200 makes all the difference for me :(

          • +1

@IamaCam: Try a different rep. Some reps won't give you the voucher. That's a known fact.

        • +1

          Ouch that hurts.

        • Try a different rep? As long as the code still works on the store, you just need to find a rep willing to generate one for you.

          • +1

@Spiderdragon: THIS IS THE WAY! got to another rep and got a code!
can someone please walk me through the trade-up? i put in my old S7, get a code, enter code when purchasing phone, enter $200 voucher + $50 (if still valid) and then pay the difference? Then send phone back within 7 days of receiving the code or receiving the phone? first time doing this so want it to be as smooth as possible!

I saw something bout $500 or credit being deducted if the phone is damaged or not sent? what's that about?

            • @IamaCam: That's right. Just make sure you check the total balance before checking out to make sure that all the codes have been applied correctly.

If you dont return your old s7, they'll charge you for the discount you received for the trade in. This is the trade in amount, plus the $500 bonus.

              • @Spiderdragon: S21+: 256GB $1,399 - 200 - 500 - 20 - 50 = $629… not bad if it all works.

Ahh okay, saw some comments that you get to keep the $500 bonus if you didn't send it in but didn't make sense and not worth the risk.

                Thanks for the reply boss.

        • +1

Yeah, keep trying. I went through 3 of them. Just be nice and say something like, I was interested in buying a S21 (blank) because a friend was given $200 voucher from samsung chat? That's what I said and they gave me one. It's a numbers game, friend

Edit: I just saw that you got it working, well done!

  • Got given a $200 voucher this morning and successfully stacked it with the trade bonus for a work colleague this morning.

    • Any tips on the $200 voucher? Tried with chat and was denied.

      • see post above. try another rep who's willing. i got it, finally!

        • Did you just go the normal live chat or is there a different one

          • @nmcc08: normal live chat for me

          • @nmcc08: Through the loyalty link provided earlier in here.

      • +1

I’ve got two by saying “Hi, my husband was recently given a $200 loyalty discount which he used to buy an s21. It’s. Great phone and now I’d like one too. Do you have a spare loyalty discount”

        Tried twice, been successful twice.

  • All codes still working and stacking.

Just got a 256GB Ultra. I was holding out to see if black or silver came back in stock but decided to get a Navy and wait the 4-5 weeks, in case it does all fall apart.
My first $200 code didn't work for some reason. I had a second one that I was hanging onto, just in case….. luckily. That one worked, I got both of the $200 codes quite easily last Friday.

Stacked with a $50 kindly offered up here this morning, THANK YOU.

  • my $200 code isnt working. anyone?

    • Just got one from chat and it is working for sure.

      • got a spare -.^?

        • haha No sorry. I just gave it away.

  • -1

I just got a warning from Samsung saying they haven't received my trade-in phone and will charge me $85 if not received in 7 days, looks like the loophole is gonna work folks

    • Just the 85?

      • Sounds like it, yup

        • Plz update us. I am sure it will only be $85

    • +3

That email comes from Asurion, not from Samsung. Asurion will charge you the $85 and Samsung will charge you the $500.

      • looks like we'll only see by next week if anyone gets charged for their non returned phones. Or earlier if anyone sends in a damaged device, and asurion doesnt accept it.

        • +1

A guy on the last page says he was charged the full amount.

          • +2

@wombat81: it depends, if he didnt send the phone then he's most likely lying about it cause after the 7 days, asurion gives you another 7 days, so he should be charged next week (he got his phone on the 19th), so his time frame doesnt add up. if he did send the phone and it got misgraded/disqualified then yeah it could be true. will have to see when he posts his screenshot. I got the email too, not because i didnt send the phone, but because their return shipping is slow, and asurion havent received it yet.

      • Email from Samsung, received today (500 is bonus and device value is the discount)

Thank you for signing up to Samsung Electronics Marketing emails. Your $50 promotion code has been applied to your order.
Your trade in discount plus your $500 trade in bonus has been applied. Bonus $500 offer ends 29.04.2021

        Terms:
Device Non-Return Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the discount You received when Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device Online in accordance with clause 5.2 of these Terms and Conditions.

wondering how can samsung charge anyways, they only took the debit card details. Asurion took the credit card details and only they are authorized to charge back. Am I missing something?

      • I honestly don't see Samsung charging my credit card for a discount bonus. If that was the case it would've been mentioned many times in warning emails.

        • +4

On second thoughts, I'm going to send in my old phone. Just thinking it would be really dumb of a massive company like Samsung to have such an obvious loophole open for everyone.

          • +1

@FeZZa21: Maybe its just a sneaky scheme by samsung. Offer trade in promotion. Dont mention about $500 except for in the T&C that nobody reads (which clearly states in the usual complex lingo that T&Cs often use, that they can withdraw the promotion from you if they wish to if you dont fulfill your side of the agreement). Hope that alot of people decided not return their devices. Charge the $500, voila. They get hundreds of new customers that paid almost full price for their phones that wouldnt have been sold otherwise.

  • I wonder if Samsung will do promos like this again for their future phones e.g. S21FE, Note 21? I'm still happy with my S10 5G

    • +6

No way of knowing. But it becomes more unlikely for every person who gets greedy and decides to not keep up their side of the agreement to send their device back.

      • +5

Agree…. Samsung should just bill for the $500. A deal is a deal. Don't try rip samsung off. The offers will only keep coming if they are commercially viable for them.

        • +1

Yeah somebody from last page confirmed he got charged both in two separate transactions.

      • but if you send a apple SE to them, which is only 40$ market value, how is samsung benefitting from it?

        • $40 to you but once refurbished and 12 month store warranty is offered on top. It can sell for $100? to $120?

          Guessing.

          • @shadow131: My guess is they do what other companies do, they sell it to developing nations in bulk.

            • @khaez: yes, but thats not the issue here. Samsung making a 500$ loss to get a 40$ phone and then charging back people for non return or inelgible device. sounds ridiculous

              • @U30004: Some said Samsung sell their phones to telco only for $500 so their profile margin is very high

              • @U30004: Not much of a loss really. The s20 Ultra 256gb costs about $500 to produce, the s21series is even lower, and for them, the more people using their phones, the better. they want to be the next iphone remember. They have around 50-60% profit margin per phone. Dont think theyre making a loss on the phone. And they can make a good amount of $$ shipping thousands of devices to third world countries. Who knows really. But yeah, they dont lose much by letting people keep the $500. But they could if they want to.

                • @khaez: I dont think they are letting people "keep" the 500.

what happens if you send a good device and their team finds it "mis-graded", should they charge you 500 + trade up discount (even with the right intentions you could end up paying 500. thats no different to no-return.

                  • @U30004: It is different. It just means your device is worth less. You still did you obligation of sending in the device.

          • @shadow131: would you buy a refurb iphone SE 2016 model for 100$? lets say yes, samsung is still giving 500$ "promo bonus"
thats 400 loss, havent factored in the postage and someone refurbing the phone and then giving warranty on top.

            • @U30004: They're just reducing their profit margin a bit to get their devices out there. I guarantee you they are still making plenty of dollars out of these devices.

The S21 series seem like really good devices compared to the last few models. So it seems that Samsung are prepared to make a few dollars less on these to try and get lots of them out there and re-establish their dominance in the market.

              • @wombat81: yaa, but the point is no-return discount vs 500 promo

        • iPhone SE (2016) doesn't work with the trade up checking app. I was initially quite eager to get rid of it.
There is no chance they will fix the app before this promotion is finished.

You will be wasting money buying something that you cannot actually use for this deal.

          • @netsurfer: Yeah. It's so frustrating to see the iPhone SE 2016 being acceptable for trade-in but being unable to proceed with it.

  • Help! Trade up app shows iphone 6s 64 gb Au model as ineligible. It does not even run the test. Straight after clicking Let's begin - Your device is ineligible.

    Any advise?

Online chat is telling to go in store to get the assessment.

    • Had the same issue as my pixel 4a 5g. Which is only a few months old now. Just said it was ineligible straight off the bat. The app is buggy. Nothing we can do really.

      • Found the solution mate.. got to have a working sim in it to work..!

        • lol I do. it's my daily phone. There's no explicable reason for it not to be working. So i'm chalking it down to the app being a pos and gave up.

    • You've most likely got an international model. Look up a previous comment of mine in this thread.

  • S21 Ultra 256gb Phantom Black, back in stock.

Just stacked all the coupons: $50, $200 and the bonus $500.

  • Since the new phones do not come with a charger, should we return our old charger as well as part of the trade-in.

    • You only need to send in your old phone for trade-in.
      Charger/cable/box etc you can keep.

  • Managed to receive a $200 voucher code just now.

  • Pulled the trigger bought ultra 256gb for $799. $1699-$150-$500-$50-$200

    Hi guys
    Just received email from samsung

After further review it has been brought to our attention that a trade in cannot be stacked together with a $200 voucher code.

Most of these orders that were done are now being cancelled, hence in this instance your order have been requested to be cancelled.

As a one off I have approved for the order to be left as it is inclusive of the voucher discount.

    Kind Regards

    • Interesting. How long ago did you order. My wife ordered on Saturday and hasn't got an email…

Also, the wording in that email seems really dodgy. Is it legit?

      • I ordered last night and haven't received this email yet.

      • Just received it a minute ago. The samsung rep clearly knew that we are going to use it for trade in and they gave us vouchers. I was trying to change colour of my order from customised to black one and in touch with them and this email came. They did not canceled my order but it seems contradictory within samsung staffs as one gives vouchers to use with trade in and other says it cannot be stacked.

    • I ordered straight away because of this comment. Missed out on the $50 voucher but hopefully my order doesn't get cancelled…

      • +1

Lucky you, just a mate commented, he got the voucher through chat but was told its not stackable with trade in

        • Order is confirmed. Really appreciate the heads up, thanks

  • I’ve received my s21 and I’m very disappointed with the battery life. Anyone else not see an issue with the battery or am I expecting too much? It was said that a security update fixes the issue.

    • The main reason I for the S21+ was for the superior battery life.

      • Ye I know that the battery is like 20 - 25 percent better and if this update doesn’t solve the issue, I’ll regret not paying 200 dollars for the plus.

    • I can't bring myself to make the purchase of the S21+ because of the downgrade in screen resolution. If I change my S10 settings from WQHD+ 1440p to FHD 1080p the screen looks shithouse in comparison.

Any comments on this? How's the screen of your S21?

      • Yes, you can definitely tell the difference and I am not happy about moving to S21 from my beloved S10 in regards to the resolution, however the 120hz scrolling really does sweeten it when you web browse or scroll on social media.

If I could turn back time, I'd probably keep my S10 @ 60hz and wait for the S22, but I already pulled the trigger and it's too late now.

        • Thanks for this reply mate. My exact predicament.
I went and viewed the S21 in store to see whether I could notice a difference and whether I would be disappointed. I was.

The 120hz was a huge improvement though.

        • i had the same issue lol…i in no way was ever going to get the S21 range, waiting for the S22…then this promo hit and suddenly Samsung were taking my 2yo S10+ for $735 + $50 Newsletter & $200 GC (via chat)….$985 trade credit had me hooked on. tbh, i preferred the S21 physical dimensions but i wanted to get the Plus for extra battery life then going to chat and getting the $200GC i just went up again but i guess thats how they get you lol.

Ended up getting the S21 Ultra for $614 after trade in so that i would retain my 1440p and improve to 120hz refresh.

      • Well I went from an S9 with 570ppi to the S21+ with 394ppi. Honestly I was worried that it would be terrible in comparison but I honestly haven't noticed it at all. The screen is great. Also the difference in res between the S21 and the S21+ is tiny.

      • It's that reason why I went for the S21 Ultra.

        • +1

Fair call. Initially I didn't want the Ultra for size - but I guess if i've decided on the S21+ for battery size - it's not that much further in dimensions to just go the Ultra.

    • You must be heavy user the only reason to use S21 over plus just because of people wants smaller screen.

    • when i first got my s21 battery life wasnt as good. But after a week, it improved. So id suggest give it time, to learn your usage. I also find that using samsung internet instead of firefox or chrome saves battery. I was getting around 15-20% usage for 1 hour (1 hour active, 15 mins background) on firefox vs 20% usage for 2 hour (2 hour active, 1 hr background) on samsung internet.

  • Anyone got burnt for not returning their device yet? I am going to return my trade-in, just the right thing to do so that this sort of promo will happen again to us hopefully :)

    • +1

It did one user reported charged back both.

      • ouch, lucky I quickly bought a used Samsung A70 for $200 ($200 voucher helps ^_^) to make another order and going to cancel the original order with iPhone 12 Pro Max 512GB trade in value of $825 (they wish lol, market is easily $1700+)

      • +2

Waiting for him to upload screenshot…

  • -2

Yikes! now it appears they are refunding orders I'll never get that precious s21 ultra

    • +1

May be they reached their sales target

    • Are you saying your order was cancelled/refunded?

      • -5

Nah but someone just mentioned that samsung are going to cancel orders that stacked both promos.

        • +1

          "someone"

          • @U30004: I got the email form samsung e-commerce sydney team named Terry. I was trying to change the colour of my phone as the black one is in stock and dont want to wait 4/5 week for the customised colour. So samsung reps are helping me and than the e-commerce team sent that email.

            • @Donask: Did you chat or email?

              • @bogstation: I called samsung to change thr phone colour and they said they will emailed back team regarding the issue. Then, I got that email from Terrry, e-commerce team Sydney.
