                • @Donask: so they were able to update the colour on your order?

                  • +1

@impoze: No. They said the customised orders cant be changed after placing order.

                    • @Donask: yeah I got the same response just now

                    • +1

                      @Donask:

They said the customised orders cant be changed after placing order.

Not just customised orders any order. I had to place an order for S21 256gb violet (no other color stock) as someone said $200 and $50 vouchers won't stack starting from 30th March so I pulled the trigger at 11.50am yesterday just to know that they still allow to stack these vouchers.

Anyway, I called them this morning right at 8am to change a color and they said they can't do it. You need to refuse the delivery or return it and place a new order.

                      • +2

@IpGem: yeah, worst sales system ever. i made an order yesterday at 6, at 6:30 i realised i ordered the wrong capacity so by 7 i called and talked to them on chat…neither could do anything until it progressed to 'processed' which it did at 12noon today. called again and fella said he'd cancel it for me but at 4:30 i got an email saying its on its way. called back again and the girl said i had to call within 24hrs i was too late….i told her i had made 4 phonecalls between 7pm (yesterday) to now and it was on track to be cancelled and reordered…she didnt care that the promo was ending tomorrow and just told me to refuse delivery..na im not gonna refuse delivery only to not be able to stack vouchers, bonus credit and pay an extra $250 for the same phone in a couple days.

                        • @ExtraSalt: This is a pure torture..samsung got to improve their after sales service.

  • Added the 128GB Ultra to my cart using the trade in I.D. Before purchasing noticed 256 had come back in stock. so cleared cart and added 256, now it saying trade in i.d. already used… Any suggestions? :(

    • I haven't tried this myself, but I read on an earlier page if you delete and reinstall the app, after going through the device checks you should get a new trade in ID.

    • I had something similar yesterday, and the cart hadn't cleared.
Try the clear cart, log out, clear cache trick. Then log back in.

    • May be the code still in promo box?

    • Delete the original 128gb Ultra from your basket, then reapply the trade-in code to the 256gb ultra.

    • Appreciate the suggestions. However have tried all those to no avail.

  • seems like the $50 wont stack ontop of the $200 for S21 128/256GB and S21+ 128GB. Though it works on the S21+ 256GB

    • Try entering 50$ first

      • the $50 disappears when i put the trade in mobile code. works before then but $50 wont stack afterwards

    • +1

The total cost must be $350 and above for the $50 code to work. Excluding Samsung Care.

Got my 2 phones today and will be sending my S7 and Note9 back to Samsung. You'll get an email with a printable return postage label that should look like this (I cropped out the barcodes).

    • You don't need to print it, though. They just scan the barcode at the PO. You can just show it to them on your phone.

      • Do they scan the barcode and provide something to ship it in?

        • Yes and yes. They provide a small bubble wrap post bag. I would tape a layer of bubble wrap around your device before you go, just for added protection. I didn't but kinda wish I had.

          • @wombat81: I kind of regretted did not prewrapped it before handing over the phone , hope the phone doesn't get damaged in transit , otherwise it would be a nightmare to deal with.

        • My PO just scanned, took the phone and gave me a receipt, they'll sort out the packaging etc

    • Do you need your own packaging (except for bubble wrapping the phone) like satchel or box?
Sorry, haven't received the phone/email yet.

      • No, AusPost provides that.

        • -2

          No, AusPost provides that.

You have to pay for it.

          • @superforever: You do not, just took my phone back and they provided free packaging.

            • @retainer: OK, I only read somewhere on this thread, the guy said have to pay for the sachets not postage.

      • I just re-used the brown cardboard box that my new phones shipped in. Then added some polystyrene foam for added padding as I had some lying in the trash.

I've yet to actually post the item, will do it later tomorrow.

        • Just out of interest, does the label has some information about the trade in? Or, they will figure out which trade in is for which based on the return label tracking ID?

Also, unlike what was written on the Web site, nothing provided to protect the old phone(s).

  • +1

I received my S21 today after ordering it last Friday.
I was surprised to not receive any return label but quickly received an email after. There is the details on how to return it and you don't have to print anything, just show the document is enough.

I also wanted to share some feedback on the phone.
I was a bit scared about loosing the qhd resolution coming from the S10 but I actually haven't noticed the difference.
The phone looks much quicker (I'm always surprised to think it can actually be even smoother just to navigate around Android…) and while the battery on the classic S21 is not the best, it looks like an improvement compare to the S10.
The flat screen is a plus for me as I don't touch the screen while holding the phone any more.
    Quite happy so far.

    • +1

The smoothness comes from the 120Hz. Try putting it back on the 60Hz and see the difference. :)

      • +1

I also always change the animation speed in the developer tab to 0.5x.

Also the fingerprint scanner is a big improvement!!!

    • I think I've read that the battery life improves the more you use the phone as it learns what apps you use most often and which ones can be put to sleep more aggressively.

Good feedback though, thanks for sharing! I'm upgrading from an S8 so I'm pretty sure I'll find the S21 to be an upgrade no matter what. Only downside for me is no micro SD card slot but I went with the 256GB model so hopefully that won't be an issue.

    • There is the details on how to return it and you don't have to print anything, just show the document is enough.

You can either print or show and they will print it for you.

I packed it in a box (with my original S7 box inside and I still have it) and print the label stick it on the box.

  • Just updated the s21 software and it bricked the phone. Screen works but is unresponsive. Just a heads up

    • +1

      Mine updated fine.

      • Did the battery life improve? Its the only reason why I updated and now its literally bricked. Samsung said to send it back but I might as well just hard reset it. Anyone know any positives of actually sending the phone back to samsung?

        • first few days, battery was meh (it was draining pretty fast while i was using it, i could see the percentage go down). but a week later, battery seems to have improved. I havent really tested going a full day without charge, since i have a wireless charger on my desk at work, and id usually pop it there when im on my desk. But i would say, that even without, i could easily last a day 8am-5pm on the battery. Longest I've gone without a charge is probably 4h, with about 1h screen on time, and i would lose around 20-30%.. Tip : Use the samsung browser, its more battery efficient.

          • @khaez: Hmm ok, thanks for the tip ill use it.

        • De bloating the phone may help see this great article on xda https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/debload-bloatware-s21-s21…

Just on chat to get a $200 voucher. Got it but was told by agent it is no longer stackable…..

    • +1

    • Same… Cant stack with $50.. not sure with trade in

      • $50 voucher only works if the final price before applying the voucher is > $350. If you're buying a S21 128GB with the trade in value it might be less than the minimum required for the $50 to work.

      • +1

My bad just bought one this morning ( 31/03) and all stacked together. it looks like my $200 voucher was invalid and i managed to get the live chat to replace with new code

    • Are you sure, just try the code when you check out, I'm sure it still stacks.

    • Not true - just did it 20mins ago

      • How did you get a $200 code and what did you say to the agent? none of them seem to be willing to give any out. Thanks

        • +1

Try saying that you are an existing samsung customer and looking for discounts to upgrade to S21 series. After a couple of questions, they will give away the code. Worked for me, atleast 🙂

      • +1

Yeah? Nice. I'm just telling you what they said to me, haven't tested it myself but I hope it's not true.

        • +2

          All good @beerbudget.
          Im not knocking you.
My point is more that i wouldnt consider the reps word to be concrete. It seems that theres a lot of contradiction and reps just saying random stuff with these vouchers

          @qvinto - i got my 200 code yesterday.
Just went on and said i was interested in an s21 and that friends had received the code. Guy said no probs. Put me down n hold for 3mins and came back with the code. Im guessing they’ve tightened it up a bit. It seems it really comes down to which rep you get.

    • Who was your agent? none of them are issuing any vouchers. Tried several times. thanks

      • +1

The screen said Gliodie but he introduced himself as Jerome i think??
Thought i had the transcript but i dont

  • I literally just stacked my vouchers.

Pulled the trigger on the ultra, cos i fear the offer being ended early or phones remaining out of stock. Wouldn’t normally spend that much on a phone but got the 256gb for $934.

    Stacked the $200 + $50 + $500 and got a whole $15 for my S7.

Im sure i’ll notice a slight improvement lol, especially with the battery life im currently getting!

  • Has anyone tried to return the new phone for color change and successful?

  • whos not returning the trade in?

    • do you still get the $500 bonus if you dont trade in?

      • That's the 500 dollar question. Not trading in is also the same as mis graded phone. I think we should be able to get the 500 still

        • yeah i had reservations so i went into the samsung kiosk and got them to look it over. i have a couple of minor scratches on the trim and 2 guys there said it was so minor it should be ok, but the difference is $200 depending on what this mob says. i wouldnt accept trade with that difference in price. I;m gonna wait for my phone to arrive and then have a talk to Samsung chat to have something on paper. meanwhile i'll trawl through their T&Cs

          • +2

@ExtraSalt: My phone is here today, I will email ausrion to check. Let see what they say.

    • Im not returning my phone, I got email confirmation and chat screenshot to say return is not required.

      • Could you please share the email and chat?

        • +1

I second this. Mind to share a screenshot of that convo, please?

        • +4

Here we go: I’m still waiting for the return details still haven’t got anything yet.

          https://imgur.com/gallery/gjpVH9j

      • Yes can you please share? Thanks for your response btw

        • +1

Rather than trust CSRs which we know there are 2 versions.

Read this comment from an OZBer. He has been charged the trade in fee AND $500 for not returning the phone. You could be cynical about it since it is a fresh new OZB account.

      • Return is not required because they will charge you some money later on. An OZBer claimed he was charged the trade in value. However, another OZBer indicated that happened to him initially too, BUT he was now also charged $500.

I know people who don't want to return their phones are cynical about this. Anyway, looks like there will be people not returning their phones so we will certainly find out later on.

      • Mind sharing chat screenshot is not required?

  • Confirmed still working. I just did it

    • How did you get the $200 code?

  • Thanks, Got notification of delivery. Was able to Stack 500, 200 and 50 this morning

  • Hello, did anyone face issues with the trade-in app. I am trying to trade in A21s and it fails light sensor test (rest all passed and no physical damage). Apparently, there is no light sensor at all on this model. I have been asked to contact trade in tech support through email and they will take couple of days to respond. It is a pain as A21s is clearly available for trade in and app wasn't designed for the lack of light sensor. Just a heads up if anyone is planning to trade in A21s models.

    • Yes, had some issues because I did not enable auto-brightness in Settings.

Based on this link - https://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Essential-Phone,Sa… Samsung A21 should have a light sensor.

      • Thank you, but I confirmed with the online chat that A21 doesn't have a light sensor. I have enabled 'adaptive brightness' (not sure how it works without light sensor). But in the trade in app I get a message saying 'light sensor test failed' without even letting me do the test. Tried several times.

        • That app is no well written and some phones won't work properly. Good luck getting a response from the group handling the trade in. Still waiting for them to respond to my query after 2 days.

          • @netsurfer: What if I try generating a trade in code for a phone with screen scratches and use that trade in code to buy the phone and when sending the phone I send A21? In theory, A21 is valued more than my old phone with scratches. Not sure if they accept it.

            • @SV22: You will be charged the difference.

Re-try the app under bright condition. The app is not well written.

              • @netsurfer: Did you mean the different in trade in value of the phones I am actually sending back and the phone used for obtaining trade in code? because, the phone I am sending back has higher trade in value. If you mean that Samsung will void the trade in completely, then that is a bigger risk. We don't know.

                • @SV22: Oh, I see what you mean. So you use a phone with lower trade in value to generate the code, but actually return a higher value phone. It's hard to figure that one out. Will they do the right thing and credit you the difference or they will opt to return that phone to you and take back the discount?

Asurion, which manages the trade-in, is very very slow in support. I asked them for assistance for another phone that is in a similar situation - phone is perfectly fine, the app is wrong / buggy. No response for 2 days.

        • I have a Galaxy S9+ which also failed that test first time. Had to uninstall the app, and then reinstalled and restarted the test in much brighter conditions. It still took a good 5 or 10 minutes to get it to pass - the app would lock up/freeze, and not respond to pressing Start.
Eventually, it passed. Admittedly a different phone to yours…

    • Interested to see if you get this sorted as was looking at buying a A21s tomorrow just for the purpose of trade in but dont want to get stuck with it for nothing.

      • Sure, will update here once the issue is sorted

        • Hopefully its just the same issue as the guy above that was able to reinstall the app and try under different conditions.

      • Still no response from Aurion team, I hv just used a trade in code from a different phone (which otherwise is not eligible for trade in due to physical damage) for my order. I hv sent an email to Aurion stating I can't wait and will return a better phone thought trade in ID and IMEI number won't match. Hope they will be fine with that.

    • Exsct same issue here with my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10".
Tried in all light settings except direct sunlight. Maybe I'll try that tomorrow. But as you said, the device doesn't have a light sensor on it!

      • yeah fails light sensor and no gyroscope.. :(

let me know if you get it working or how to get it to pass, since I want to trade in this pos Tab A!!

  • +2

Damn! I just place an order for S21 Ultra 128gb phantom black (stacking all 3 vouchers). I was previously holding out for 4 days for the 256gb version to come back into stock. Then all this chatter about vouchers not working got me spooked so bit the bullet on the 128gb before it was too late. Only to see the 256gb version back in stock this evening. If anyone living in Sydney was thinking of placing an order for the 128gb version anyway, i'd be happy to pay the $100 difference + 10% (for your troubles) if you were to place an order for the 256gb version instead. I tried calling customer service but order has already been dispatched and can't be changed. PM if you can help a fellow OB out?

    • Did you explore options to change of mind return and exchange?

      • Yep. They said it would take up to 30 days to process a refund and all 3 vouchers may not be valid to be used again. Basically it sound like a huge hassle with no guarantee of being able to reuse trade-in and 2 other vouchers.

        • You have another eligible phone that could be use for trade in to place another order?

        • Even to exchange the phone, is it cancellation first , refund and order new ones?

          • @Ozfanmel: The issue is getting a $50 and $200 code, a trade in to get a $500 bonus all over again. Your best bet is to have a crack again before it all ends and refuse your order for 128gb when it gets delivered.

I nearly pulled the trigger on a 128gb ultra as 256gb out of stock last night but decided to go a custom colour just go get the ball rolling.

            • +1

@Exec-Matrix: Thank you for your suggestion. Refuse the delivery means will get the refund the amount we paid which is separate process to track. Will make new order again using these code ?

              • @Ozfanmel: Yes correct. Check with live chat though and get it in writing that that is the exact process so you cover your backside.

You'll be out of pocket for the second phone for a little bit if you can afford it, however seems to be the only way you can get it done before this whole promo thing ends.

        • Find another eligible phone for trade in. Get 2 new voucher codes and sell the 128GB for a profit on FB

          • @MJD91: Yeah not a bad idea. I don't have another eligible phone, but I'll ask around the fam to see if anyone has a spare phone. Such a drainer. It was a matter of a few hours between when I placed the order, to when it got shipped to when it came back into stock.
