      • S20+ 5G 128GB. Battery on this thing sucks, so this deal just made it a no brainer.

        • Wonderful. Enjoy. :)

  • tried 4 different creditcards, all fail verifcation in the trade in app…
    anyone found a solution?

yes expiry has been entered as 4 digits

    • app issue? reinstall the app

      • yeah think it was the app..
        finally ordered!

bought 2nd hand iphone to trade in, arrived today. my $200 voucher's last day was today too…

        just made it! phew

  • Confirmed all discounts still stack, just got the S21 Ultra 256 phantom black. Anyone know how long does it take to arrive to Perth? Wondering will it arrive before the long weekend.

    • I ordered Monday morning first thing and they're getting delivered today (on board with driver). Having said that, star track only acquired the package yesterday.
So if they get your phone today from Samsung, its possible to have it in your hands tomorrow.
I've had packages delivered overnight from Sydney via Star Track before.
      Fingers crossed for you 🙂

      • S21 Ultra 256 phantom black, same here, I ordered it yesterday afternoon. but now the status still showing "Processing". Wish I can get it before Easter holiday.

        • Same! After reading everyone's comments I was wondering if there was some glitch.

    • 1 day delivery for me

Lets have a count how many of us ozbargained the devices. I will post 3 comments with the device models lets upvote whichever device we got.

      S21 ultra

      • S21 Ultra 256gb.
        paid $714. with trade-in.

  • Anyone find the most cost effective device to buy and do this with if you dont currently have an eligble phone?

    • Take a risk, buy one from Facebook Marketplace like an iPhone 6s.

      • +1

its what i did, though from ebay

      • It is a big risk. Your best bet is from somewhere that you can get a refund or store credit from if it doesnt work. I considered the A21s new for $249 but if you have to open it to use the app then there is no refund if it doesnt work. I ended up going to CEX and see what they had, entered different models on the 'estimate' section of the Samsung website.

Some people had an issue with the Oppo R9s which samsung lists, others had issues with the A21s that is listed. I got a Iphone 6s from CEX to begin with ($210) took it away and The trade up app came up with 'not compatible' straight away. I took it back to CEX for a store credit and took the punt on the Samsung A30 (another $15). By now i had feared i was going to end up with nothing but a store credit and no S21 but luckily this A30 worked with the tradeup app.

Bottom line is people are saying it doesnt work with grey imports and you dont know if that is the case until you try the tradeup app. Maybe you can get someone that you are buying it off to download it and try it before you buy it?

    • A21 will be the easier to find, as it is $250 from woolies, or if you can cheap s6

      • Someone here above couldnt get the A21s to pass the light sensor test. It was exactly what i was going to do as seems to be the cheapest 'new' phone in the list. A second hand A30 (from CEX) worked for me no worries

    • I got an A30 on marketplace yesterday for $100 in mint condition, trades in for $35 with samsung.

    • +1

A mate managed to get an iPhone 7 128gb for $150 on FB marketplace. Was cheap cause the battery health was at 70%. Got $90 trade in value which isn't bad.

      • +2

Found an an iPhone x for 200$ in gumtree and trade in value was275$!!

        • Nice! Good find.

  • Installed the trade up app today and ran it

Is it normal for the trade up offer code to expire on the same day it is issued?
    E.g. 31/03/21

I only get less than one day for the S21 to come back in stock

    • +1

      nail biting stuff

    • Yes i notice this as well, could this be the last day?

    • I am with you on the edge of my seat lol. I probably won't bother with the S21+ or ultra.

    • +1

cant you just run through the process again to get a new code?

    • I used it yesterday (30 Mar), and the code was only valid till today (31 Mar) …

      • Thanks for confirming. Not sure if I’m remembering correctly but I recall seeing the $500 bonus mentioned on the Samsung trade up offer landing page along with the expiry date of 29/04/21

The fine print at the bottom of the page has multiple expiry dates based on model of phone e.g. 8 April for an Samsung S20 or 1 April for iPhone 11

Is it possible this offer is going to end earlier than expected?

        • Yes, it is very likely to end 1 way or the other.

Read that some users have already received cancellations if they stacked the trade up with the $200 from help desk. Mine's still in processing status since 29th Mar, so I guess it's probably one of those that's going to be cancelled .. :-(

      • Would just like to confirm a new code was issued with expiry 29/04/21 after running the TradeUp app today. My previous code expired last night

    • @jonsnow I believe that the trade ins are valid until the end of the month in which you run and get the trade in code. E.g if you were to do it tomorrow would be valid until April 30th

      • Thanks for commenting
I hope that means I can run the app again tomorrow and get a new code
Would be annoying if a phone’s IMEI can only be registered once

  • my trade in iphone 7 showing as iPhone9,3. will their be any problem guys

    • +1

That's just Apple's internal version numbering: iPhone 7 is internally iPhone9,3 (See here) The iPhone 5 was the 5th iPhone but the iPhone 6 was the 7th iPhone (cause 5S was the 6th) so that messes up the numbering a bit.

      • +1

thank mate i can breathe now. got lucky with the codes in time. now its not stackable as fellow friends mentioned

    • may be you had an iphone9 all along :)

  • +1

shoutout to @chewy23q and @worthy1. got my ultra with trade-in of iPhone 7. only thing its showing as iPhone 9.3

  • noticed can't double stack anymore. spoke with chat and they said effective 30/3 no double stacking but can see it's still going through for others

  • spoke with chat and they said "the voucher can only be used in the Samsung Australia Website for regular purchase, not for Employee Purchase or Education Program, not applicable too on a Samsung Physical Store, it's also no longer stackable with Trade-Up Promotion as you mentioned about the trade even with the $50 Sign Up Bonus too which was confirmed by Samsung Australia since possible error may happen during the check out."

  • Deal appears to have ceased with double stack codes.

Could not use $200 code with trade-in offer

Even went to chat and asked for another $200 voucher.

    Comes up with -

"The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions."

      noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

    • +1

      Same here

    • +1

      Same here too. So sad.

Don't get me wrong, still a great deal for a new phone.

    • +1

      Same :(

    • +1

      Damn party's over I guess ….

      • +1

        Error from the top:
The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions.

I had to go digging through so many drawers to find one and now I'm just a day too late.
        Sad story. :(

  • What happens if someone is not able to return the tradein phone. Will the card be debited with the trade in value of or additional discount of $500.

    • Trade in value. However, one OZBer claimed he was charged $500 later on (with no evidence provided) and the dates he provided for those 2 chargebacks seem rather fishy.

Best to return the old phone if you can. However, there is another issue… that return label…. some people have not received them.

    • That's what we are all wondering

  • Is the s21 ultra dual physical sim?

    • I think it is 1 esim + 1 physical sim. But yesterday I went JB have a look at one S21 ultra. it show SM-G998/DS. it have 2 imei. not sure it is 1 esim + 1 physical sim or 2 physical sim.

      • I received S21 Ultra today. It is G998B (Black for black ?)
Got 2 IMEIs, definitely 1 Nano SIM + 1 eSIM.

        • So. JB Hi-Fi one I saw yesterday, must be the International Version?
          because it show SM-G998B/DS

      • Shame I needed it to be dual sim.

  • reply to all of you guys who told its not stackable.

    https://ibb.co/TkjVYFC

check the image i did 2 hour ago around 4pm. and it was definitely stackable. i even applied both rep and email subs codes today after 2 only.

    • Have you spent that codes? if not, can you please try now to see if it's stackable. Thanks

      • I got a $200 code around 3.15 and made an order around 3.40.

you can see i received a notification at 3.43 from AMEX

        https://ibb.co/yWjZkK5

I've used both $50 and $200 code for ultra

        • Surely you are the lucky ones, I tried from 5pm, and not working, I got code in the early morning and stackable but didn't make decision which one I go for

        • Should have paid directly through Amex for extra 12 month warranty, purchase protection and Refund protection benefits

          • @virtualds: Do you have a link to this? Ta

          • @virtualds: Im not sure. I think i do still get protection. Incident : I bought mi watch from AliExpress with amex through paypal. Item never arrived so I charged back. I didn’t deal with paypal but spoke to amex. Paypal sent me email saying they wont action as I already did through amex.

In transaction it says paypal- Samsung electronics

    • Stacked for me around 3.45pm today

  • I'm so salty I lost the $200 voucher stack because Samsung won't give me the $50 voucher on time. Might as well get the fold.

    • i was also waiting for this to come through :( had the $200 code ready to go.

      • I was to, still havent received it but as per the deal post there is a forum you can ask if anyone has a $200 or $50 code. Put up a post there and within 10mins had a PM with a code.

    • I had the code but was too late getting a device. I feel your pain.

  • The edges of bezel-less screen on my S21U purchased from this deal not smooth as I could feel the glass edges compared to the display unit at JB Hi-Fi which to my surprise using a U.S model SM-998B/DS. Is this normal for this model?

    • Contact Samsung or it probably smoothed over time because it a display unit.

    • No, SM-998B/DS has Exynos CPU so cannot be an US model I think.

      • I didn’t see clearly whether it was SM-998B/DS or SM-9988/DS if you google it the model definitely not an Australia model.

        • Okay, google results are confusing, with conflicting information among sites.

Prefer to go with GSMArea and SamMobile. I reckon go with SamMobile data:

          https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s21-ultra/specs/

          SM-998B - Exynos
          SM-998U - Snapdragon

Yes, you can find sites with different info, but it is unlikely Samsung AU gave JB the snapdragon model. JB's display model could be one with dual SIM slots though. Phones tend to look nicer in store with bright lights.

          • @netsurfer: I am 100% sure the display unit at JB has DS is that stands for Dual Sim? Anyway just found out the glass feel on the edges of the screen on my phone was a layer of screen protector so peeled it off as I like it to be naked.

            • @moonleaf: I saw the same model at JB yesterday.
I think SM-G998B/DS is the international version.

    • I have the same issue in fact the corners of my S21U are extremely rough and the top two corners are borderline peeling

      • There’s also invisible plastic protectors on the corners of this phone.

  • as soon as i add the trade in code it still shows the $200 code but removes the discount it applies.

    • You can do one or the other. Not both. They've removed the stack now.

  • They also changed the offer date to 08/04/2021 now.

    • +4

      🙄 Sales Target Achieved

  • I'm getting this message after entering the Trade In ID.

"Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    Sad times.

    • You need to put in your credit card details in the app before you can enter the ID online.

      • Doh! Thanks ☺️

  • Cancelled my order but can't use the trade-up code again. Should I uninstall and reinstall the app to generate a new code?

    • Yes

    • If you didn't know, the $200 code can't be stacked any more.

      • yeah wtf was about to pull the trigger on an Ultra haha and see which one i liked more

  • Anyone know if these deliveries require signature from the actual recipient ?

I missed delivery and its gone to AP. However, I won't be able to get there tomorrow (so that means ill miss out until tuesday). It says you can fill out a form for someone else to pick up on your behalf, IF its an item that doesn't require signature from the intended recipient… however, I'm not sure if this item falls under that.
