      • same with me here. no news so far. please update if you hear something guys. thanks

    • +1

      i still have my s21 FE 5G

Maybe they're still trying to work out how you got hold of an unreleased prototype device…

      • lol

  • My custom Navy S21 ultra ETA delivery on 23/4. It was ship on 22/4 and It still sit in Greenacre NSW since 22/4.
    Anyone on the same boat?

    • +1

      Same boat here
      Hope getting some updates tomorrow

  • Anybody have issues with older chargers on the S21? I'm using the S8 charger and it always says "check your charger connection…" It works as normal with my S8 but charges slow with the S21.

    • That's weird, I am using my S8 charger too but didn't have any issues as the fast charging is active and charges S21 from 0 to 100 within hour and half. You sure the charger is not faulty or that the cable is bit worn with cuts? I used to get the check your charger warning when I had issues with my other S8 charger.

      • works fine with my S8 so doesnt seem to be the charger. Cables are not even close to worn anywhere.

        • Swap cables, use the same power brick.
Then swap the power brick but with the old cable.

Do that AFTER you've changed power sockets(low chance of failure though).

    • Have you toggled the fast charge setting? I did see that in settings but I prefer to charge it slow so didn't updated it.

  • Anyone returned their phone around 10 April? Tracking shows its delivered on the 13th but no email whatsoever and no CC charge so I assume it all went well then?

    • +1

      No news is good news.

    • Mine was delivered to them on March 30th and I've had no contact whatsoever.

  • Ordered S21U 256GB Titanium on the wee hours of 6th April.
As the order was sitting as processing I got in touch with Samsung about the status and they advised at the moment it is looking likely to be delivered on or about 26th April.
Got in touch with Samsung again yesterday and they advised that it should deliver next week or next to next week.

Got an SMS yesterday evening that the order has been shipped. This morning it is on-board for delivery and the status on the website now shows Preparing Dispatch.

  • OK. Can we get a one month update from those who ordered and received their phones at end of March, but didn't send in their trade in phone.

Have you been charged the trade-in value for not sending in the trade-in phone? And has anyone been charged the $500 bonus?

    • I am sure someone will post it here or Whirlpool if they get charge the $500 bonus.
So far both Samsung and Asurion said, they will only charge the Trade in value.
Any promotion offer will still remain as it is.

    • I received both phone on the 31st March so exactly one month, no return phone email and DID NOT GET CHARGE for the Trade Up yet.

      Still waiting.

      • what does the order status state on the Samsung online store?

        • Stuck on DISPATHED. Until they update to DELIVERED guess I be waiting for the return email LOL

          • @mt2000: Mine was delivered yesterday and was set to delivered yesterday and overnight I have received the return label. LOL

  • No good, I accidentally dropped my trade in phone, a little scratch at the back, should I return it?

    • +1

I won't. because you going to get change as device not meet the condition.

      • thanks for the advice, max the can charge is my trade in value yeah. Don't want to loose the phone and get charge as well.

        • +1

          thats the 500 Dollar question

          • @U30004: Ha ha. V good!

          • +1

@U30004: I think we have enough correspondence from Asurion to indicate this will not be an issue. As long as you have written/electronic correspondence confirming this - I don't see any problems taking this up with consumer affairs in case they do end charging back folks here more than the agreed device trade up amount.

  • Just got debited $20.

Thank you for recently placing a Samsung Trade-Up order. After inspecting your original device, our team has determined its physical condition doesn’t match the details entered when you completed your Trade-Up.

As stated in the agreed Samsung Trade-Up terms and conditions, we will be charging your nominated credit card $20.

    • what was the trade-in phone?

they should return your phone as that's what happened to my brother's one.

      • Pixel 2XL. Don't really want it back 😂

    • When did you return your phone? I returned mine on 15th April and it was delivered to them on 19th April but still haven't had a reply from Asurion team, whether it was accepted or rejected as Trade in.

      • Dropped off at the post office on Friday 23rd, they received Monday 26th, they emailed 28th, debited today.

        • Thanks 👍

        • I dropped mine on 15th April and still hasn't scanned at next location. I think the guy at the post office stole it. He just asked me to hand over the phone (S10) and I assumed he would pack it and send but nothing happened since then. Have lodged an enquiry and awaiting response.

          • @enjunuet: Seems like a risky thing to do for not much reward as an employee if you ask me?

The lady at my PO came out from behind the counter, found and took the satchel off the shelf and told me to put the phone in and seal it, but then said she'll take care of the rest.

            • @John Kimble: Do they give you a box or satchel? Is it enough to keep the phone safe or should I take some bubble wrap?

              • @spend2little2much: Just prepack at home with some bubble wrap and use the box that came with your phone. Hand it over the counter let them scan and take the receipt.

              • @spend2little2much: I think it was a small padded mailer. I just managed to squeeze the original Pixel 2XL phone box in there.

If you don't have your original box, you definitely want to put extra bubble wrap or something inside the bag.

          • @enjunuet:

He just asked me to hand over the phone (S10)

No way hand over the phone like that not even gave you auspost receipt? You should call the police.

You should put in a box with the label.

            • @superforever: Agree with most of the part. Some post not always give receipt, the Alexandria one (also a business hub) told me to leave the packages most of the time, they said they handle tens of thousands of items every day cant give receipt to every of them.

              • @Meovel: I always post from local auspost, they just scan and print only a few secs.

            • @superforever: Sorry I should have added he did give me a receipt, but didn't say anything about packaging or even that he would deal with the rest. Just 'hand it over'.

    • Yee haw, 2nd conformation of no $500 I hope my S20+ 5g sells soon :-)

      • -3

The $500 is Samsung's money, not Asurion's. I would expect it to be charged separately to the trade in amount, if it's going to be charged at all.

        • Samsung do not have my card details, i paid with Afterpay

          • -3

@Motek Benzona: It would be a different transaction/bill, is all I'm saying.

            • @wombat81: If that was the case you would think Samsung would have to ask for my credit card details on purchsase. All i got was the trade up company on asking for it. Possibly Samsung would be on dodgy ground taking from a card i have not given them access too. They are separate companies.

              • -3

@Motek Benzona: Even if Samsung did have your card details, I doubt they'd just be able to charge you. They'd just bill you, I'd assume.

          • @Motek Benzona: I paid with afterpay too and I am sure Samsung can't charge $500 to afterpay, can they?

            • +2

@IpGem: I'm not sure whether Samsung will or not, but wombat81 has been fearmongering for the past month. I don't understand why this user is actively trying to upset everyone who asks, but please relax and take his/her words with a pinch of salt.

Please just go away, wombat81, you're not adding any new information and instead are only stressing people out. You're not a hero. You are merely a prophet on the street claiming the end is nigh.

              • -5

@damihi: Lol. I'm so sorry that I'm stressing people out who are potentially trying to take advantage of something they're not entitled to. I honestly couldn't care less if people send their devices back or not. You are more than welcome to ignore my replies if they stress you out so much.

                • +3

                  @wombat81: "I honestly couldn't care less.. "

Well.. I guess you're not an honest person. Continues to show a lack of insight into one's own actions. You're consistent at least. You do you.

                  • -5

@damihi: You're trying to get money you're not entitled to, but I'm the one who isn't honest? I've heard it all.

                    • @wombat81: Hahaha 😂 Thank you. Evidently you 'couldn't care less'. I don't see any point talking to a person who isn't even honest to himself.

                      • @damihi: No idea what you're on about bro. Enjoy your $500. Hope it doesn't stress you out too much. It seems like someone is having a bit of a moral dilemma…

                      • +3

@damihi: Looks like wombat81 jumped the gun too early trading in his S9 in an earlier promotion missing out on the $200 voucher and the price drop. Check out his posts in https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/611234

                        • -2

@rifter: Dig as much as you like, dude. I'm 100% happy about getting the trade in I got for my S9 and my 256gb S21+ for ~$700 (less than half price) and would do it again tomorrow. The store price was way better than it is now, when I purchased. But have fun trawling through my past posts, if that's what you're into.

What baffles me is that these deals, the education store deal, the $500 trade in deal, this current deal, are all great deals. People are getting great devices at ridiculous prices because of the trade in deals being offered. But instead of being really happy that you got a great deal, people are looking for ways to try and screw even more money out of it. As I've said lots of times, I don't care if you try and screw the trade in bonus or not. Honestly I couldn't care less, whether you believe that or not. But don't carry on like we're all entitled to do it and that it's an absolute given that no one will be charged the bonus back. None of you know that for sure. If you, individually, are prepared to take that risk, go your absolute hardest. But don't bang on like you're all lawyers and know that it'll all be fine. At the end of the day, we all agreed, quite clearly, to send our trade in devices back in order to get the trade in bonus. Anyone participating in this deal should be very aware that not sending your device back is a risk.

If you are all so confident that you won't be charged, why are you so worried about what I'm saying? To spend time to go back looking through my past posts in order to somehow try and discredit me says a lot.

                          • @wombat81: Just because you are reminding us about the 'stupid and non-existent' risk in our view a million times and just irritating everyone!

                            • -3

@SV22: Deepest apologies, bro. But I don't think anyone is forcing you to read this forum if it's that irritating for you.

                              • +2

@wombat81: No need to apologise bro, all good. There is a reason this forum exists i.e. to share good deals and our experiences. But if a person is trying to make same point again, again and again, it becomes really hard to follow other useful messages. Hope you understand.

                          • @wombat81: 🤦🏻‍♂️

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

This deal was one of the best, $350 for s21 really worth it. I purchased mine from the current deal & paid $650 without the newsletter code. Thinking whether to sell it & wait for this deal to come again.

    • Keen buying it.

  • Can someone please recommend a good quality case for S21? Not clear ones though

  • +1

For anyone still considering sending in your phone - as reported above, I sent my phone back and Australia Post has now advised they lost it in transit. Basically, it looks like it never left the post office I left it with (and I believe likely stolen by the guy I handed it to as the S10 is factory reset so anyone can just steal it and start using it) as it has not scanned at next location since 15/4/21. I enquired with Australia Post about this and they confirmed that is the case and that it is accepted as 'Lost in Transit'. So as Asurion will not receive it I will be charged the trade in amount and also have no phone either. Bloody Australia Post. I had a feeling when I left the post office that the employee looked dodgy and I should have taken a photo of him taking the phone, but I didn't. Anyway too late and too bad so sad.

Moral is even if you have good intentions to send it in that may not be the end of your dramas.

    • Did you get a lodgement receipt ?

      • Yes. That is how I know it didn't progress any further than the post office. I wonder if it can be reported as stolen with the police to see if they can do something about it as how stupidly easy is it for an employee to steal parcels and then Australia Post just say its lost in transit. How can you run a business like that where theft can be so easy?

        • Well if it was me it will be Australia Post fault cause you done your part and got a lodgement receipt, balls in there court it's there responsibility tell Asurion to follow with Australia Post and claim there insurance.

          • @stingysavagesaver: Good point. I didn't think of it that way, but still pretty easy for Asurion to say they didn't receive it so too bad they will charge me the trade in amount.

            • @enjunuet: I had a look at the returning instructions

3.Ensure you obtain a lodgement receipt for proof of return. Note: you will not be charged for packaging and delivery costs.

You have done the above, well it's not pretty easy to say they didn't receive it. that's what you will argue. And it's Australia post problem

              • @stingysavagesaver: Thanks. I'll take that approach and see what happens.

                • @enjunuet: Even if they charge you for it then you should ask AusPost to reimburse you since they lost it. Make sure to lodge a case on AusPost website (create an account if you don't have one, and add the tracking number there, and then lodge the case).

                  • @AussieDaddy: I did lodge an enquiry but will see if I can lodge a complaint. Here is the reply from their customer care:

"I have checked the scans and we have not had anything passed the lodgement scan so we would be needing to deem this lost in transit. As we have a lodgement scan on our end, the sender will be able to contact us and we can advise that yes this was lodged but lost in transit. As it was an eParcel return, they are able to contact our business team and they should be able to assist.

I hope this information helps and please contact them as they may be able to assist you this this one."

What a BS response. So blase that they've lost it. Must happen all the time for them to talk that way.

                    • @enjunuet: Forward this email to Asurion as well, since AusPost is accepting responsibility for losing the item.

  • Hello all, has anyone had delivery delays on their 'custom' colour order?

Ordered a S21+ Phantom Gold on 4 April (5 weeks ago) and it is still stuck in "Processing" as per the track my order and haven't received any emails/updates from the initial "Thank you for your order". Tried contacting Samsung however didn't really get anything from them as I called last week and they said "it hasn't been 5 weeks yet…"

    • +1

Ordered the Ultra in Navy on the 30th March, got it about 2 weeks ago. So 4 week turn around I guess for me.

      • Thanks, did you get any updates at all from Samsung after the initial email saying thank you for your purchase and before the courier saying its on its way? Worried that i haven't heard anything - probably irrational just find it strange there have been no comms

        • on the same boat, + gold, 8 April, still in processing, no further info from Samsung

          • @Kenw: Contacted Samsung last week and got an email response this morning "Our stock management team advise that this stock should be available later this week and you should receive notification once an update is available.". Fingers crossed.

Will let you know if i hear anything further - on the 'track my order' it has moved from "order placed" to "customising"…

            • @Trif: Thanks atrifkovic! Just found mine is preparing dispatch. It won't be long, hopefuly

              • @Kenw: I was just about to provide you with the same update ! Fingers crossed….

              • @Kenw: Status changed to "Dispatched" - still no emails or comms from Samsung though haha

                • +1

                  @Trif: The same, bro! Finally

Hi, I received my final warning email (within 48hrs return your mobile) from Asurion long back. But they didn't charge my (debit) card yet. Is this the case for any one?

    • Haven't heard of anyone actually being charged anything yet. Unless anyone here knows different?

    • I mean, even 'device cost' also they didn't charge yet.

      • Same here - I have not been charged even the trade in device cost.

    • Yep same here. Haven't been charged the trade in cost yet.

    • +1

Never got single email from Asurion at all. No return label. No charge.

    • No charges yet. Wonder what it all means?

    • Same here, no charges yet. But in the following post someone got a reply from them saying ' Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged. But please keep the funds ready in your account to avoid any confusion'. So basically it means they'll charge it eventually even a month or two or a year I guess.

      • Received another warning email yesterday (after almost 6weeks). They reminded me to send mobile back. So hopefully they will charge my card soon.

        • is that the 48 hour one?

I got that one yesterday too. I guess we'll see tomorrow if they charge

  • +3

I have received following email from Asurion when I asked them if I could keep the old phone as a backup phone. Apparently they are not sure about when they would charge us.

    Hi,

Thanks for your query. If you wish to not return your old device, you will only be charged the amount that you were offered for your old device and it will no longer be a requirement to return the old device to us. Any promotion offer will still remain as it is. Hope that information was helpful.

You will be charged automatically. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged. But please keep the funds ready in your account to avoid any confusion. Please ignore any automated e-mails till then.

    • Good to know!

    • -1

please Can you send the email to me? I want to keep the [email protected]

      • +2

I don't think an email to somebody else qualifies as evidence to your own personal situation. If you need such evidence and want it to be valid it's probably best to contact them yourself regarding your own situation.

        • YES,I think ur right, i will ask them by myself

  • +1

    Just an update.

My status is now saying DELIVERD after 2 months. But I still not received any email regarding sending back my old phone.

Any one else in the same boat?
