Thule Roof Racks

Hey all,

So I managed to get a pretty sweet deal on a second hand set of Thule roof racks (Thule Rapid System 754) for my sis.
Everything is included and what not, granted everything was absolutely filthy and not in the best condition.

I want to replace the rubber (see photos) as it's pretty screwed. I'm hoping someone has had some experience with this or knows the best company / brand etc to go with. The bars are 118cm in length, as is the rubber. I know this isn't a difficult job I'm just worried I'll end up being ripped off and buying the wrong product. I've looked at various places online and some have suggested the model number may be 52012.

Most of the sites and products I've looked at are 135-150cm. Is this just standard and I'd cut the end off? Anyone able to advise or even if there's cheapies from China? As long as it fits and does the job I'm not super fussed on whether this will last 10 years or not.

Thank you!

  • I’d imagine they just sell a standard long length that would cover most uses. Yes, just cut the end off.

  • Give a Thule retailer a call??

    • OzB advice + DIY is more exciting.

  • I'm pretty sure it's a standard measure. I have Rhino bars mounted with Thule accessories.

These rhino replacements from Autobarn seem the cheapest at the moment but may be worth checking. https://www.autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Brands/Rhin…

  • I'd cut the end off?

Yes, these are easily cut to fit. You will end up making several cuts in them to plug the gaps around any accessories you mount, so the extra length can be useful for small gaps fills.
