Key differences between baseus and Xiaomi:

      • xiaomi has a whole wheel of colour temperatures compared to baseus 3 level colour temperature
      • xiaomi has wireless remote control (super handy and convenient as you dont need to reach out and pushing the buttons on the light might cause it to fall off)
      • xiaomi has ra 90 colouring index vs 80 on the baseus (better colours and accuracy)
      • xiaomi has magnetic design and more premium feel than the baseus
      • Baseus is cheaper by ~$25 though (even compared to this special price of Xiaomi for which one has to wait). It is a great value in my opinion if remote isn't very important for someone. Both brands are made in China too.

        • it’s more than the wireless remote. As someone previously mentioned, the baseus one has a bad angle design.

It’s worth it to pay more for premium especially for something you’ll use regularly (I use mine everyday). The Xiaomi is great value especially when compared to the BENQ model priced at $200+.

          • @skido: Does the Xiaomi use PWM for controlling the brightness or is it DC?

BenQ also has a model(screenbar halo) which has light behind the screen and front, wireless remote etc, but costs 179USD. Doesn't seem to be sold in AUS though.

            • @InTheHunt:

Does the Xiaomi use PWM for controlling the brightness or is it DC?

              not too sure about this

BenQ also has a model(screenbar halo) which has light behind the screen and front

there's a yeelight model with front and rear RGB lights. Similar to the xiaomi model, just rebranded with extra features including smart capabilities. Have had lots of interest and tried to negotiate the price, but yeelight's got strict pricing policies. See more info here

    • I dislike the baseus one enough to return it

  • Thank you, bought one for the sake of my poor eyes.

  • +1

Seems a bit expensive for what it is.

    • There's cheaper ones on eBay/Aliexpress that don't have the high CRI, wireless controller or USBC for around half the price.

There's quite a few different designs. The important thing to look out for is that it will mount correctly to your monitor, as a lot of the cheaper ones are designed with a max monitor thickness of 1.2cm (for laptops).

    • for reference, Australian retailers are selling this for $89 currently

  • Anyone used with a larger tv/monitor e.g. 48" and can comment on screen glare?

  • Expired?

This coupon can only be used 600 times.

    • Let me ask if they can extend it

    • +1

      they've added 200

  • "Coupon can only be used in CN Warehouse" - Expired?

    • it’s supposed to only work on CN warehouse

Make sure you select CN warehouse before adding to cart

      • Oops you are right. Thanks.

  • For others: be careful to untick extra insurance that is auto-ticked if you don't want it.

  • Can you replace the LEDs?

    • I don’t think so, I’ve never opened the product but it seems built in

      • It looks good but it will just end up being ewaste in a year or 2.

  • This or the Yeelight Pro for double the price with the rear rgb colours?

    • +1

really depends on your use case. Yeelight are also smart which means they can be controlled via app and google/Alexa/Siri etc.

I’m still trying to negotiate with them for a better price on the yeelight - but yeelights got strict pricing policies and don’t want to lower the price now. The pro model have been only about $25 extra ($82 ish) when on sale

      • Any idea when we could expect the $82 special again then?

        • not sure atm, will need to speak with yeelight

          • @skido: Thanks definately interested in the Yeelight Pro if you can organise a price like last time, think there were a few others interested too

  • Anyone getting a "Due to policy reasons, this product does not exist" message when clicking the link to purchase?

  • Can't use the code if ship from AU, anyone got the same issue ???

    • please select CN

      • I read earlier posts saying if ship from CN GST will apply ??

        • there is no GST if you're purchasing from: au.banggood.com (which is the link in this post)

          only applies to: www.banggood.com

  • is this light used for reading/writing at your desk, or other purposes too?

    • Yeah it's pretty good for that, I use it for painting

  • Just grab one, but paid at $60?

    • +2

did you untick shipping insurance and pay with an international fee free card (if purchased in USD) ?

  • +3

bought it only because of comments here

  • Just what I need, thanks.

  • Using it now, very good.

  • +1

Ended up buying the yeelight version for 86 on AliExpress. Wanted the back light

    • $86 us or non pro?

      • 86 AUD for non pro.
I know it's been cheaper but based on the comments, doesn't look like it will be that price anytime soon

  • Banggood is so fked up. Not once I’ve received my orders. Just got notified it’s out of stock.

They keep on overselling their sht

  • This one's expired, but it's available over at Aliexpress for 42.30 USD + 3.89 shiping: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001244583632.html

    • +$4.23 GST in checkout

  • Anyone know what logistics service they use for "AU Direct Mail"? Tracking on their website stops at "Package has been sterilized and shipped out." and 17track can't find the tracking number.

  • Has anyone ordered this and have any idea how long it takes to be delivered?
Mine is yet to be dispatched yet.

    • +1

Mine was shipped on 3rd April. Expected delivery date 2021-05-10.

      • A month! Okay will keep an eye out.
Not a rush really, just want to know when to expect it. First time buying from BangGood

    • +1

Some people received theirs within 10 days of order placed from the last deal. Mine took 19 days to arrive including weekends.

    • received mine today in Sydney, no AAA battery in the house

      • I received mine 15/4, ordered 1/4. The description states that AAA batteries are not included.

  • Anyone know what happens with the remote control if you buy two? Will each remote control their matching lamp individually or would both turn on or off from either remote?

    • I think you can sync either or both remote to work on the lamp you choose but not sure if you can make one remote to control two lamps as I don’t have two lamps to test.

  • I just bought the Kogan one for $26 delivered (with the free Kogan First trial).

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-led-monitor-light-desk-la…

I don't expect it to be as nice as this Xiaomi one, but I really don't need the extra bells and whistles and was happy to get one that fits most monitors for less than half the price of this Xiaomi one.

  • Anyone's been listed as shipped? I ordered 9pm on 1st April and haven't got any updates

    • Yep bought my the same time and apparently mine's just cleared customs in SYD.

      • Does the cleared customs bit show on the Banggood website parcel tracking?

      • +1

Still processing mine is… Expected to ship before April 18 now.

        • Mine as well, I got an email saying it was currently out of stock and was in production.

    • Ordered mine on the 2nd of April. It was initially estimated to ship before 11th April. But now it has updated and is estimated to ship by 18th April.

    • +3

I just received the following this morning, it seems we not going to receive anytime soon …

“Thank you for ordering with us. We're sorry to inform you that your product is taking longer than expected to restock because of excessive demand.

We are putting pressure on the factory to produce urgently. We will ship it as soon as the goods arrive.”

      • +1

        Got the same email.

  • +1

Update, email saying item is shipped!

    • Yep same. Both of mine just shipped. Ordered on 3rd and 4th April

    • Mine as well, but the tracking number doesn't appear to work.
I've noticed a lot of people here used 17Track to check.
      Is it working for you?

      • I believe delivery takes approx ~15 to 20 days for delivery. I assuming you would have to wait a couple of days for the tracking number to become active. I might be wrong, but I think 17Track only works after it reaches Australia.

  • Ordered on the 1st and received it today.

  • Currently the promo price is about AU$66.89. I placed an order for another one.

    • The one I ordered a few hours ago is already shipped.

  • Ordered mine on the 1st of April and was delivered this morning. ~16 days CN to AU.

  • Mine just got delivered now too.

  • Ordered 2x but they only delivered one! What the?

  • Did you all get batteries included? Mine came without it even though it says in the manual that batteries are included. Also the package looks like it has been opened. Not impressed.

    • +1

Me too - no batteries (may be to avoid battery safety shipment issues?)

    • Says on the website 2* AAA battery (Not Included) dude

      • OK, maybe that's why the box looked like it was opened since they took the batteries out prior to shipping (I hope that's the reason!). If you look at the instructions booklet within, it is clear that batteries are supposed to be included from the factory. I wonder why they would remove them since they are not Li-Ion…

        • Just buy some decent panasonic eneloops from ebay. They will last so much longer and rechargeable. About $15-19 for a 4pack

          • @Discoaus: It wasn't about the batteries, as such, in the first place… never mind. And I agree about eneloops. As an ozbargainer I sure as hell have plenty of them.

            • @findingbargains: I getcha. They were left out, even though packaging states they come with them. Inconvenient if you didn't have aaa on hand, but I still mostly wouldn't use the generics anyways. For the price of this, it ain't bad

    • +1

They open the packaging to remove the batteries prior to shipment. It’s the same with all the sellers on aliexpress. I believe it’s to avoid shipping issues (I.e. batteries might require extra custom declaration and need to go through a different shipping channel/process etc)

  • +1

Received the desk lamp yesterday after an initial shipping delay (out of stock). I had low expectations to begin with. The packaging was in OK condition. The desk lamp turns on when plugged in but unfortunately the wireless controller does not work (yes, I've inserted the batteries correctly) e.g. it doesn't turn the light of/off, adjust warmth or brightness of the light at all. When pressed down and spun, the controller rubs against its base plate and makes an annoying screechy sound. I've raised a return for replacement ticket with Banggood but not looking forward to the protracted process.

Has anyone else encountered this with their controller and have any work arounds?

    • +2

that’s strange! Did you try with brand new batteries?

When pressed down and spun, the controller rubs against its base plate and makes an annoying screechy sound.

sounds like a defect. I never encountered any issues with my controller. Let me know how the replacement process goes, feel free to PM your order number if you want the rep to check up on it.

      • +1

        Appreciate your reply!

Yes, I did. New batteries. Unplugged the light. The mechanism doesn't feel quite right. Will let you know how I go. Cheers!

    • I have a similar issue with the remote. It seems like one area doesn't really click and requires a lot more pressure to push down to get the light to turn on/off, and it also rubs against the base plate when pressing and spinning - creating that screechy sound. I don't know if I can be bothered to try and get a replacement, it's still functional but definitely annoying.

  • Anyone know if this will fit the Dell S2721DS? Apparantly the frame is very slightly curved.

  • Can anyone tell me how to open the remote?

    • +1

If you turn it upside down, only the flat rubber part is supposed to turn.
Easiest way I've done it is hold it upside down in one hand and grip the plastic outer ring with your fingers, use your other palm to put pressure on the rubber piece and twist.

  • Mine arrived today.
Wow it's good quality and heavy, very impressed.
Good way for finding out how dirty your keyboard is though.

  • Ordered 3rd April.
    Shipped 16th April.
    Delivered 30th April.
Worth the wait. Very good build quality and lights up my entire desk area.
