Which Powercord Can I Use to Charge This?

Hi, I have an old Jumpstarter + pressure inflator kit but i lost the charger

https://www.allbids.com.au/c/allbids-car-auctions/motor-vehi…

I have tried plugging in a 12v-3A
and 12v-2A

Both show the red light when connected but does not charge.

On the starter it says Voltage 12V Nominal Current:500AMP

Can any gurus help?

The internal battery may be shagged.

Agreed. Either of the power packs you tried would provide the right power source.
I have an identical item, and have had one previously. They have a 17ah lead acid battery inside, directly wired to the cables.
If you have a car battery charger, you could clip that to the cables.

    • Never shag your internal battery

    • sounds like it - or something inline related to the inflator. Had the same issue awhile back - associated circuit issue - battery was good though after demolition.

  • Yeah. If you want a new one I think there's a deal around on the lithum GOOLOO ones on Amazon for ~$80. I've got one of the older models and am very impressed with it.

  • After some research i cam see some of these things use a 12v-0.5A which is far less powerful than the 12v-2a and 12v-3a but maybe it would work?

    Worth the try or nay?

The device will only draw the current it requires, so the higher current packs you have used are fine.
Giving it less current won’t make any difference.
The plug pack that ships with this is 0.5a, but 2a or 3a will give the same results.

  • R U sure the inside pin is positive?
Try swapping them around, unless it has a picture to show the orientation of the voltage pins
