  • In case anyone (else) factors this into their purchase decisions, these Sony are the buds of choice for repairability according to ifixit, so hopefully no need to throw them out once the battery dies:

  • Noob question sorry, but how do these stay in your ear? They are huge and nothing looks obvious

  • this deal is still on. has anybody received theirs yet and happy with them?

    1. how well does NFC connection work?
      1. what is actual usage hours for a charge?
      2. do they feel heavy or light in the ears?

    any other comments?

    • yes also does it really goes deep into ear canal and create that emptiness feeling?

      • I am using the foam tips and they don't go deep into the ear canal. If they are you may need to use bigger tips.
I find they fit me the same as my old Bose QC20s, possibly a bit more comfy due to the foam tip rather than the rubber ones on the Bose.

NFC conenction - seems to work fine for me. The BT connection pairing is pretty painless too, connected to my Macbook, my work laptop and my phone all no issues.

Actual Hours - I havent worn them for that length of time as yet, so I couldn't say.

Weight - I have worn them for a good couple of hours and they feel fine. They aren't heavy at all. Also have to use the "twist" method of inserting so they hold properly. I can easily shake my head around and they don't even hint at comgin loose. I wouldn't wear them for running etc though mainly because I dont go running ;) There are a number of earbud inserts provided so you can find the best fit for your ears though. So you may need to mix and match a bit to find the best fit for your personal tastes.

I got mine 2 days after ordering.

Have used them a bit, more comfortable than I expected and the silicone tips are my preference. I have to use a larger tip in one ear to get a good seal but this isn't uncommon.

Battery life wasn't good for me with everything turned on (ANC, equaliser and the DXHZ (or what ever it is) high res sound). I was getting maybe 2 hours at best before they were at 20% from a full charge.

Turned everything except ANC off and they're better but need to use them for longer to see properly.

Over all I'm pretty happy though. I don't really need them for long periods, just a commute and occasional work calls.

      • some gadgets need few battery cycles to get to their best performance not sure about this small thingie

        • Yeah I thought it might have actually been the software not quite reading the proper capacity yet.

  • Anyone use this with microsoft teams? Please share your experience?

    • My co-worker uses them near me (I told him about the deal) and I use a Plantronics headset, on conference calls I hear a lot of my own reverb through his connection but my headset filters his reverb out.

However, I sent my wife a voice memo through whatsapp from a busy street today and it came through very good.

  • Not sure why this is marked as expired, they're in stock again.

Pretty sure they're running out stock as the xm4 is around the corner.
