I really like the idea of wireless headsets but for some reasons in comparison to wired headphones both the mic and speaker quality is really sub-par. Which to me is confusing given the quality of wireless mice these days
Wireless mice as in cage free or free range? Their diet could be the reason for the higher quality.
wireless mice even with 1kHz polling rate is only sending x,y coordinates which is very little data.
For CD quality sound I think the polling/sampling rate is much higher 44kHz(?) and the sound data is at least 16 bits.
so in that sense there's a lot more data that needs to be transferred.There is compression involved, but that can only get you so far. so they usually cut the sampling rate, or cut the audio depth to be able to transfer that audio data wirelessly.
I was tossing up between these and the Razer Kraken V2 (which I got) and the audio quality is amazing. I haven't once used my PC37X with a dedicated soundcard since getting them.
