$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

          • @pinkybrain: I am trading in a S10 128GB and ended up getting a s21 for $444 - pretty happy with that. It comes with a free USB C cable and free shipping.

Not sure about the charger yet - am currently using a USB C laptop charger that suits my work laptop - seems to charge my S10 pretty quickly. Will deal with the 25W fast charger later. Let me know if you have any tips! Cheers

  • Hi just wondering if anyone has a $50 off code I've tried multiple emails and nothing has come through the last few hours much appreciated thanks

    • +1

make new email or wait a bit

I think you need to wait at least 8 hours etc

    • +2

same here, still waiting the $50 off code, suspect it will take longer than expect!

      • +1

yes at least 8 to 12 hours

even their site says 24 to 48 hrs

  • -1

What do u guys think will happen if i don't send the trade-in phone to samsung? How will i be charged for that?

    • they will charge you for the trade up value if you don't send it in
or it is not as you described or has faults you didn't mention

      it is in the clause

You need to provide credit card to buy the phone or trade up app etc

      • Oh ok. So if they are offering $50 for an iphone 7 and decided not to send it to samsung, they will charge me $50 on the card instead?

        • +2

          yes

not sure what it means about your status for future trade up deals though

would they banned people who do this?
Need to know if someone has any more info about this..

          • +2

@pinkybrain: From their terms and conditions:

3.2 Your participation in the Trade In Programme is subject to you providing the Existing Handset to us
within 14 days of receiving your New Handset. The Existing Handset must meet the minimum
requirements set out in the Application. Should you fail to provide the Existing Handset to us within 14
days of receipt of your New Handset you will be required to return your New Handset to us, or you will be
asked to pay back the upfront discount you received. Failure to provide your New Handset or payment, to
Samsung will result in legal proceedings being taken against you to recover the device.

              @anoykw: Such scary wording.

Here's a copy of the latest email Asurion sent me today. "As previously communicated, we are yet to receive your original device which was required to be returned as part of your Samsung Trade-Up order.
Please ensure you return your device within the next 48 hours, otherwise you will be charged a non-return fee of $235 to your nominated credit card.
If you've recently received your device please ignore this email.

I grabbed an S21 Ultra as part of this deal back on the 12/04/21 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/612845

The $235 is what they offered me for my S10+, which I'm going to sell privately.

              • @tight-ass: It seems reading from the last deal, people were able to get away not trading in their phone and still got the discount. I wonder if the terms and conditions changed since the last deal?

              • @tight-ass: is the deal you bought from better than this one?

So you don't care about that legal threat mentioned?
or getting banned from future trade up deals?

how much could get privately for S10+?

                • @pinkybrain: It seems the terms and conditions were ambiguous in the first deal, its highly likely they changed the terms and conditions in this recent deal to be specific about people not trading in their phones.

                  • @anoykw: yeah, it would make too easy for people to just pay the lower trade in price, get $400 off
and then sell it privately for even more.

Not sure what benefit this company (the one doing the trade up) has for getting some of these old ass phones though..
Sure they can resell it as refurb somewhere but not sure since they also taking in older phones like iphone 6 plus etc..

The main benefit is for Samsung to move these S21 phones (which I suspect they are not selling as well) hence willing to discount heavily $400 etc..
and yet they can still expect to make some sort of a profit.

They did cut a few things from last model like no more charger, MST credit card payment, no SD card etc..
the lost of the charger is probably the biggest saving cost for them, hence why they can do a bit more discount of these phones..
though discount $400 is a lot so the only possible reason is these S21 aren't selling as fast

Unless you have some ideas why..

                • @pinkybrain: Samsung Trade Up app doesn't work on iphone 8. Fails the gyroscope test then after it gives me a $45 there's nowhere to continue to receive the redemption code etc. Just the screen with the offer and nothing else is scrollable or clickable. Reset and reinstalled several times. Samsung say it's not their.problem. App on ios store is. 100% 1 star reviews (profanity) this for a joke

            • @anoykw: Show me the link or I call BS. No 3.2 in current T&Cs
              https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/term…

            • @anoykw: Can you please link to the document here? I can't find it on Samsung's website. Thanks

  • Looks like trade up feature has been disabled, get the following after you enter your trade up code (regardless of whether you do so before or after you add the $200 code)
"Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"
Tried a few times, keen to hear if anyone is still having success?

    • same problem via the website when enter ID

maybe they are trying to close the $200 stackable code loophole
      which would be a shame.

from the rep, they said you can't stack both codes but OP did..etc

I didn't add the $200 code yet, but tried the trade in ID and it give same error on website

    • thanks used.

Just ordered with all codes stacked. $660 discount. As someone mentioned, Trade In doesn't work unless credit card details were entered. Newsletter $50 coupon took under an hour to arrive.

    • can you enter the card details in the website or need to do it in the trade up app?

      • Entered via the trade up app. Just had confirmation its been sent. Here in 2 days.

  • is there any work around if you dont have any phone to trade in? i even can't get $400 off of RRP without trading.,

    • Dont think so. The offer is with trade in.

    • Get something cheap and working off FB marketplace?

    • +1

They accept other devices i.e. ipads

  • Anyone else worried about this sentence???

"Thank you for choosing Samsung, your order has been received and is currently being reviewed. We may need to contact you to verify your order"

By review, do they mean we will see if you have stacked the codes? I think they clearly said the $200 cant be stacked ontop of the $400 somewhere

    • +1

Scratch that, just got order confirmation, woohoo thanks MiCCAS

      • Same here. Here in 2 days.

  • The $200 does not stack for me anymore? :(

  • +2

    It stopped stacking

  • +1

YEP it stopped working the $200 does not stack for me anymore

  • Why 200 bonus and 400 trade in not working together now

    • +3

Probably cause too many silly people ask on chat if they can apply the $200 with the trade in, or they say other people have. Don't know why people feel the need to do that.

      • Yes, this exactly.

  • +1

Yep, I was on the checkout page about to purchase and the price increased. Guess its not meant to be.

  • +2

Oops was waiting for the $50 sign up code to arrive but now it's over. Just gotta live & learn :)

    • same situation. was waiting for the sign up code to arrive from morning 9am but now seems missed out $200 stackable. silly myself.

    • Are u still waiting for $50 code? Let me know if u want one.

      • Yes please PM if still available

  • Yep. Killed. Can only have one or the other.

  • +11

The first rule of Price Error: You do not talk about Price Error, especially to the store rep.

    • loophole rather than price error

    • Some people are just not very smart.

  • expired?! damn….

  • Anyone still buying despite not being able to stack with the $200?

$50 promo still stacks in case anyone is wondering

  • +1

Just got notification of shipping arriving tomorrow. S21 $539 after S9+ trade in using the stacking bonus $400 and $200. Was going to wait for newsletter $50 but glad I didn't. Thanks OP!

    • Luckily you didn't wait for it. otherwise may end up like me still waiting for $50 to come.

Does anyone have a spare $50 code

  • Can confirm S10 128G+$394 for S21

    • I got a S10 note plus 5G 512g brand new have barely touched it, trade in price $315. Why

      • Samsung doesn't care if your S10 is brand new sealed or just out of the bottom of Tasmania Sea. A 2-year-old phone is a 2-year-old phone.

  • Yes been waiting on $50 code since morning too

    • For everyone trying to get the $50 code, i recommend you email [email protected] that you didn't receive your promo code. I emailed last night and received an email with a promo code this morning. Sometimes the promo codes don't come through.

  • just bought S21 for $579 with S10+ trade in for $70 (+$400 + $200 vouchers) .. order still waiting for approval ……….

  • +2

Confirm working with $400 + $200 at 7pm AEST (QLD). Not risking waiting for $50 email. Only got offered $20 for old phone which I'll just keep anyway.

    • Will they deduct $420 from your credit card?

      • The balance for me was $629. I just paid through LatitudePay with 24 months interest free. Works out at around $7 per week including monthly fees if I just pay the minimum.

  • +1

    Got a 21+ for $694, traded in my S10, $400 bonus, $200 voucher, $50 voucher

Earlier chat support told me the trade deal didn't stack and yeah it didn't work but seems it's back working again now.

  • Their Live Chat told me there is no $200 to give out, I tried 2 times and same answer received. I might have missed the deal.

    • Yep Same case to what my son was doing earlier and they did not give him any codes..

    • +3

I had to use the link from MiCCAS (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/). Just entered "$200 promotion voucher" into the chatbot and a human connected and said "here you go" pretty much.

      • Thanks mate.. got a code for my boy…

  • The 512GB model is now out of stock on the website in Black and Silver.
If anyone wants a $200 promo code R2B-7G6T-T69Z-N3Z9

    • Taken, thanks :)

  • +1

Can I get the $400 trade-in offer & not send in the phone? In that case do I need to pay back the $400?

    • +1

      From their terms and conditions:

3.2 Your participation in the Trade In Programme is subject to you providing the Existing Handset to us
within 14 days of receiving your New Handset. The Existing Handset must meet the minimum
requirements set out in the Application. Should you fail to provide the Existing Handset to us within 14
days of receipt of your New Handset you will be required to return your New Handset to us, or you will be
asked to pay back the upfront discount you received. Failure to provide your New Handset or payment, to
Samsung will result in legal proceedings being taken against you to recover the device.

    • Yes, you'll need to pay back the $400. In my case they only offered me $20 for an S7 edge. If you can find an older phone that is accepted then you can either send that one in, or pay back the trade in offer. You miss out on the $400 in this case but you still have the other $400+$200. You can use Afterpay or CreditLine with 24 months interest free and other ways to pay the final total.

      • pay back the bonus $400?? or are you referring to the $400 trade in value of the phone being traded in?
