$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

@ysbeer178 haha yea this was mostly an impulse buy from my end. Just thought to buy it before the deal expires and/or before Samsung pulls the plug on code stacking. I saw in the previous march deal that some people got the S21-128gb for around $174.00! Crazy!!! I think the RRP was also low last month plus people reported they were getting a little more trade-in value(compared to this deal/month). From my calculation I could have got S21-128gb for $204[$1099-500-200-195(trade in note 9)] if I saw this last month :O

        • +1

they did pull the stackable $200 code yesterday and made many people disappointed / regretting not getting it
but they have since allowed it again (not sure what is going on here)
Also reps were saying it is not stackable etc

yeah the previously deal might have been better
          unfortunately we didn't see it..

but it is what it is..
also people generally expect RRP to go down rather than up
so some might not have bought it.. who knows..

you need to take the bargains when you see or can missed it
and currently this is a good of as a bargain as it gets..

Who knows maybe next month they may put a better deal
and people who bought it will feel some buyers remorse that they couldn't get the better deal..

Unfortunately this is the life of being an ozbargainer

      • it was 350$, i eaxctly did that , so far its been good except I am not liking the inbuilt fingerprint sensor :(

    • The app shows U can Change your mind & return to them within 7 days

  • It's funny that the education store has been getting a worse deal thab the normalstore for a couple of months.

    • it's because of the loophole of stacking all these codes
if they stop the $200 stacking which they did yesterday, then it is not as good of a deal.

but still better than the suckers that pay full price in the stores like JB etc
      or even costco
      https://www.costco.com.au/TVs-Electronics-Technology/Mobile-…

BTW can anyone buy from the education store or you need some special privileges?

      • You just need a .edu.au email address

        • oic, anyway to get these easily if don't have one or enrolled in a school etc?

  • Do these trade ins apply on the education store as well?

    • probably no else someone might have posted about it on ozbargain already

    • No, because the edu prices are already reduced one and that offer is only applicable at samsung.com.au

  • For anyone wondering about delivery times, I ordered an S21 yesterday and it just got delivered (Brisbane).

    • wow that is fast

      where do they deliver from?

      • Mine says it was from Sydney depot, am also in same city.

    • thats fast.. mine still waiting for approval from yesterday.. do you mind sharing what color youve ordered.

      • I just had mine delivered to. A White and black colour. (Syd)

      • +1

        Grey, 128GB

  • Anyone got this deal even with a trade-in phone that got cracked screen and app showing $0?

  • The S21 5G Phantom Grey is out of stock!!!

Thanks @MiCCAS for the newsletter code anyway

    • Are you still going to purchase the S21? If not, can I have the newsletter code?

      • Yeah I'm waiting for it to come back in stock, the live chat person said it will be happening they are sending someone from the marketing team down to the factory floor to make a few more so, fingers crossed

Thank you for your interest in Samsung products.
And we have already requested to have it restocked
And we are still waiting for updates from the marketing team.
You may sign up on our stock alerts so you will be notified about the stocks.
Once it get's back in stock, you may take advantage of it right away.
Or you may also check and consider the other available colors while stocks are still available

        • Back in stock now, I got a S21 Grey. Nice!

    • I am also waiting for Signup bonus code.
anyone facing issues in receiving code?

What happens if you use your trade in code, bought the phone with the $400 + $200 discount, and decided not to send the phone to Samsung?

Will you get charged for the trade in value only? or the full $400 + $200 + trade in value, essentially paying full price?

      • +1

        Thanks.

And when will we get the prepaid shipping label?

        • You will receive an email with a QR code you take to the post office. They scan it, give you packaging and then take the package to ship back. All for free.

      • Can they send a kill code to the new S21 phone if you refused to return your old phone?

  • +1

I did this last month and traded a iPhone 6+. They offered $150 for my phone after running their software. Today I got an email after they received the trade phone which states "Thank you for recently placing a Samsung Trade-Up order. After inspecting your original device, our team has determined its physical condition doesn’t match the details entered when you completed your Trade-Up. As stated in the agreed Samsung Trade-Up terms and conditions, we will be charging your nominated credit card $130."

They provided no details as to what didn't meet, this now feels like a scam. The phone was working up to the day I shipped it, had no cracked screen or back and had not been dropped into water. There is no recourse or way of proving you are in the right.

    • +5

Reject the $20 offer ($150 - $130) immediately. Request they return your device and charge your credit card the full $150. This is a rort to keep your device for $20

    • probably the real reason is the iphone 6+ is only worth $35 now as a trade up
or the phone had third party parts/repair

Also some people may have answer incorrectly/truthfully whether on purpose on not in regards to the checklist questionnaire at the end after doing the tests
      -charging port functions properly
      -screen quality issues
      -no dents, cracks or bends
-no rust or signs of liquid damage
-no repairs have been done using non genuine parts or missing components such as SIM card tray
      -wifi antenna functions properly

However these sorts of testimonies are quite concerning
and a deterrent for people to send in their phones and just pay the trade up fee instead

    • I would not be sending the phone. Just let them charge your credit card the trade in price, and sell it privately for more.

Base S21 for $599 is awesome value - ordered one. Thanks MiCCAS for the $50 coupon!

  • I'm seeing a few articles saying that the S20 FE 5G may be the better buy for a number of use cases vs the S21 5G. Assuming $ for $ pricing what is the better bet? 3x optical zoom seems to be a good feature as well as larger 4500mah battery? Touchscreen issues have abated with the latest updates?

    • +3

Avoid. There are still touchscreen issues after umpteen fixes.

    • s21 has better cpu and used in all 3 models
Also I think it has better cameras

      where you see that article?

  • +3

Looks like my order is about to get cancelled. Just received a refund from Samsung. Ordered Sunday around 6:30pm. Unbelievable…

    Anyone else getting refunds?

    • What codes did you stack?

      • 175(Trade)+ 400 + 200.

    • have they specified any reason? what model have you ordered?

      • No update on the order itself. Still "Awaiting Dispatch". No update from Samsung at all. Just PayPal returning my payment.

I tried to hop on to the chat last night but sales support is only business hours.

        • does your paypal account have credit card, debit, or bank attached to it?

          does it have enough funds?

          does paypal pay samsung first
then recoup the money from your bank/credit card?

or it gets the money from the bank/credit card first then transfers it to samsung?

    • what model?

      what was payment method?

      • S21 phantom black. Paid with PayPal.

Can anyone pm me a $50 sign up voucher?

    • +1

Grandma never taught you manners? Bit demanding without a "please" in sight.

      • +2

I wouldn't say demanding. Fair game on the no manners though.
Although reading through im surprised i was targeted when others are asking without a please

        I'd like to rephrase it.

If anyone has a $50 voucher that they aren't going to use i would very much appreciate it. Thankyou.

  • Hi, Everyone, I have one question please

We have to send the phone to them but I want to know that we need to send them charger and box as well?

    Thanks

    • phone only

      • Thank you

  • Update for everyone. After 2 days of trying I finally got through to chat and got another valid $200 code.

    And it still stacked.

    So:
    $75 trade in
    $400 bonus trade up
    $200 Chat code bonus

I didn't stack the $50 as I never received the email.

  • Lol, have recommended startrack shipping notification before their website has moved from status pending.

    • what you mean?

      • My order status on the Samsumg website is still "Order Status : Preparing Dispatch", however I got a text from Star Track saying my delivery from Samsung is coming today.

        • That's been normal procedure

        • oic….

thanks for the info which just prompt me to check my messages
and also got the same message

their website still has the same "Preparing dispatch"

          they should fix this issue

        • which phone you bought and how much discounts did you get?
what phone you traded in and how much was the trade in value?

        • If you don't mind me asking, when did you happen to place your order? thanks

  • I don't a phone to trade in, but i asked for the online $200 voucher to use on the government portal.
But this does not work, has anyone been successful with the government portal and applying the $200 online discount?

    THanks

    • if you tried on gov portal and it doesn't work
why would someone else be able to get it to work?

the voucher is only for this site

  • Hi all- i got the $200 voucher and it is saying invalid code - do you enter it at the checkout screen?

Also my trade in ID also doesnt work!

I'll try later tonight - maybe because i am at work.

    • For trade in ID to display, you must enter CC details and yes, you enter voucher codes under 'promo code' section at checkout screen. If it does not work, try a different browser.

      • -2

I ask OP to add this info under the main post
but he still didn't do it yet

Would be helpful for anyone getting the same error..
and no need to go through entire thread to find the answer as to why

        • I suspect the problem is that you didn't ask OP to include the info. You demanded it, quite rudely. I'm not surprised he/she ignored you.

          • -3

            @wombat81: Demanded, rudely?
you read too much into people's comments.

The comment was direct and to the point..
How else you want people to say it?
Add a "pretty please" in front of the sentence with a cherry on top? LOL

Also people don't always go through every single comment they make and go how should I state this?
It has been quite a long thread with many pages and comments that I have made

I don't give a shit if he ignore my suggestion since it does not benefit me whether adds that info or
since I already found the info after getting same issue and some people said what the fix is
and reading through all the threads..

There is no benefit for me whether he adds that info or not

Was only trying to give him a helpful suggestion (whether I forgot to ask or not) that would mean others not keep posting the same issue here
or wondering why they can't add their trade ID and getting the stupid nonsensical error message (which a number of people have experience
            including myself)

If I was the OP and posted this deal
and someone told me that suggestion
I would look at it whether it is helpful suggestion or not
NOT because someone didn't say "please" or "ask"

Again if he does not want to add my suggestion then it up to him
Was only giving him that suggestion so others would not go through the same issue as me.
It does not benefit me in way whether he adds it or not.

Without adding that critically important info to the main post..
All that will happen is we will get someone asking about the same problem again at some point or in future deals that he might post of these Samsung trade up deals.

            • @pinkybrain: Honestly, just using "please" goes a long way. You should have learned that a long time ago.

I'm sorry I helped you out and answered all your questions. You clearly don't have much gratitude for OPs deal nor the assistance you've received in this thread and by DM.

              It's clearly all about you.

              • -1

                @wombat81:

                It's clearly all about you.
Yeah suggesting something that would helpful for others is all about me..
when there is nothing I gain from this..

                Okay whatever…

you just sounding more and more foolish now.

    • I had the same, had to ask for another code that worked. YMMV on the codes it seems, they might issue a code multiple times??

  • Does anyone think I'd be able to get this discount for a damaged phone? I cracked my front screen this morning and the LCD won't work. Everything else works though and I can go through the TradeUp app to get the ID by connecting to my PC.

    • The trade up app asks about whether there are cracks in the phone - which makes the trade-in ineligible as it get assessed at $0.

    • have a read of the thread and you will see that you can but you will be charged the trade-in amount but almost certainly keep the 400 bonus discount.

  • Has anyone received an email for sending the phone back in? Or is that something you get on delivery?

    • +1

You get the email after delivery.

  • +1

Thanks OP - what a deal!

"Traded" in my S10+ for $35 (Tiny crack on screen), plus received the $400,$200 + $50 voucher. to get the S21 128GB for $568.

Will keep the S10+ and pay the $35 back.

    • can you do this?

  • +2

By any chance, if anyone still trying to buy this,
    I bought S21 256GB - $1349 > $644.

    Galaxy S8 ($55)
Gift voucher got through chat with person ($200)
Email subscription discount gift voucher ($50)
    Trade in promo ($400)
    Total discount = -$705

    Purchasing price = $644

I am planning not to return Galaxy S8 as it's not worth to give them away with $55, confirmed with Asurion that we don't have to return, but we will be charged for old device cost ($55).

Total actual purchasing price after non-return of device = $699 for S21 256GB

    • -1

Or cancel your credit card and get the full amount. They absolutely will not chase you for $55. They'll email you but that crap goes to spam folder

      • +1

they may not chase you for the 55, but they very likely would mark you as defaulting on a debt on your financial record.

        • I'll probably do the same tbh.
My Samsung s10e is in perfect condition apart from the charge cable port is a bit temperamental.. I only charge via wireless anyway so I think could sell the phone for at least 100 bucks second hand.

        • Yep. Seems like a pretty irresponsible thing to do for the sake of $55 that you aren't entitled to.

    • +1

      What you wrote to Asurion?

      please share

      • +2

Just asked whether I can keep this device, changed of mind.
Then they just replied in that way.

  • -1

Will they accept iPhone 5c. Cracked screen.
    I

    • +3

Install the app and see for yourself. Don't expect to be spoon fed for the rest of your life.

    • +1

From memory iPhone 6 was the oldest they would accept, and even then only the higher storage models. But I could be wrong. Go and have a read of the previous $500 trade in bonus deal thread. There was definitely discussion about it in there.

    • +2

Don't even need to install the app. Check the trade-in value of any device from the web page.

      https://www.samsung.com/au/tradeup/

  • -3

I cbf means setting up phone etc. Hoping someone else has gone thru the process 😉

  • For anyone having trouble getting the $200 voucher from the live agent in chat. I did mine first thing in the morning and just typed 'live agent' to the chat bot and got transferred immediately. I had the voucher within a minute or so, I just told them I was looking to upgrade my phone and they offered the $200 for the s21 series.

Did anyone by chance have a newsletter voucher they don't want/need? I signed up a day or so ago and are still waiting for mine. It is taking forever (yes, I have checked spam folders etc). If anyone could please PM me with one they don't need that would be awesome!

    • just email the team if you don't get the voucher..

    • Or have a chat with them again.
They follow up quite quickly. received in 5 hours.

  • I had a live agent refuse to give me the $200 coupon. She just kept repeating that it is intended for customers who have damaged their phone and needed to repair it out of pocket.

  • couldn't get the $200 coupon from the live agents. Seems like they are not giving this anymore.
