$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

I told the agent my screen is flickering and i did a factory reset, clear cache etc and I mentioned a Samsung store rep told me about a $200 voucher and the agent told me I could send the phone (old s9) in to get it looked at or he could give me a voucher.

  • Placed order yesterday, just got notification saying it will be delivered tomorrow.

  • I just got the $200 code. It really just depends on the person you get it seems and how nice you are :)

  • Hmm. s21+ for 300 more is not really good value eh? I'm upgrading from an s9.

    • I think it's only glass back and bigger screen. Not worth $300 IMO

  • Why are people trading $200 voucher for $50 voucher?

    • +1

$200 is very easy to get. $50 may come sometime in the next 48 hours if your lucky.

      • So if I have a $200 voucher why would I it swap for a $50 voucher - am I missing something

        • You can jump on live chat again easily and get another $200 voucher in minutes. $50 sign up voucher takes days to come thru to email.

          • -3

@hotrod01: Sorry @hotrod01 I still don't understand why someone would swap. They are losing $150 ?

            • +6

@Ozb101: Okay I'll try my best to explain this.

It takes minutes to get a $200 voucher via samsung online chat. So you could swap a $200 voucher for a $50 sign up voucher if someone else was willing to.

You can then get back on samsung chat again (second time) and request another voucher and get that code. So then you have both the $200 and $50 codes.

If you want a $50 sign up code you maybe waiting 48hrs or maybe even more.

So the goal is to get both codes as soon as possible to win the deal before it ends.

To me the $50 sign up code is more valuable as it is harder to obtain.

@hotrod01: Thanks @hotrod01 now I understand. I was getting caught up in the $$ values.

I appreciate the time it took to type out your response

              • @hotrod01: I lol with your genuine question

  • Can you still get newsletter vouchers?

  • +5

FYI. Just did the order with a 128gb S21 5G.

    Down to $589

    Used an S7 trade-in code $10 + $400 trade-in promo + $200 agent promo code + $50 newsletter signup code

    EPIC. Thank you OP.

    • Just did the exact same thing and thought I would come back here to indicate this is back on. Thought I missed the boat!

dont know how to tag people but
huge shout out to @Jaxx and @MiCCas for the codes!

  • This expires tomorrow and I still haven't found a dam spare phone!

  • Any place from where I can buy one of these cheap eligible phone?
i missed the last deal looking for a phone and couldn't get it chaper.

  • What happen to your trade-in value if you return the unboxed device under change of mind? Will Samsung refund the trade-in value as well?

    • Samsung doesn't accept returns for unboxed devices.
If you return an unopened device then Asurion will return your traded device if they still have it

  • Anyone got their email to send their trade-in phone?

I got my phone on Tues, and still haven't receive any instruction or email on how to send the trade-in phone.

    • I received phone in Friday, contact them by email on SAT received their return label email on Monday

      • Did you have to contact Asurion for the return label?

  • +1

Looks like this might get extended. I received a marketing email that included "get an extra $400 when you trade-in now! Offer ends 27/05/2021."

  • Trying to trade in and when i enter my trade up ID it says trade in is currently down?

Getting this - 'Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment'

    • +2

Did you select "trade at store" and tried to use it online.

You need to select "online" and provide the card details. You cannot get away without giving the card info. :)

Couldn't find any phone to trade-in,

    Samsung Note Edge: no
    Samsung A5: no
    iPhone 6s: no
Samsung A70: $65 max (paid $299 last year, no deal for me)

    Well, bye bye Samsung S21.

BTW, my friend has S21, I compare the photo taken with S21 and S10, it seems S21 does not take a better photo than S10, in some aspects, I think it's worst than S10. Anyone has the same opinion?

  • +1

For those who took the trade up offer and decided to keep their old phone:
    1) Do you have to email asurion to inform them that you intend to keep the phone and to charge the credit card?
    2) Can you use another phone for the trade up post it? I have a S7 and S9+. The S9+ still looks good and i think has a few more years left.

Does anything think that the new S21 is a good deal or is just Samsung trying to flood the market with their flagship phones to take market share from apple.

    • From the looks of the trade offer, they mention that they will charge the card, if you decide to not post/take the phone to them.

Im waiting to see what happens to the first group of people who don't return their phones. I got scared off by people saying they have been notified their phones arent in a good enough state, because i may have taken abit of poetic licence to say my trade in phone doesn't have any scratches, its got a couple ;-). Im scared Ill send it and they'll say its rubbish, take my trade in value and keep my phone! Its a perfectly functioning phone which i can sell. So people, let us know what happens! Im definitely willing to cop paying the trade in value, but dont want to have to pay any promo back.

    • Looking the email from Asurion, it says 'once your new phone is successfully set up, you'll need to return your original device within 7 days to avoid late return charge.'

      • U can send them an email saying that U want to keep the old device,

    • Send email to them request to keep the old device

      • Are they going to charge you for the trade in value only or trade in value + trade-in bonus?

  • +1

website is riddled with errors today. internal error.. especially when entering in $50 code

    • +1

only Opera browser defeated the 500 error code for me!

    • I had to chat with a technician to fix it. First one could not fix it, but the next person could. Might be just luck

  • Does anyone get an error when trying to add your trade-in ID?

"Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    • +1

Update - For anyone that is getting this error, make sure you update your credit card details in the Trade up app (click "Go Online"). That should fix things.

      • what you talking about?

        • +1

For someone who gets the error while trying to use the code at the store.

You need to select "online" and provide the card details. You cannot get away without giving the card info. :)

  • For a multi billion dollar company this has to be one of the worst websites I have ever seen. so many issues

  • If anyone got issue when you tried to stack the $50 sign up voucher on Samsung website keep crashing with internal error - try Internet Explorer. I did and it went through for me

    • Only browser that worked for me was Opera. All others (IE, firefox, chrome, edge) failed

  • Showing up with a free cable now as well "Your free 60W Type C to C Cable has been added to cart".

  • Cant seem to get the $200off voucher. They said, it only for previous samsung owners with a damage

  • Im on chat right now, they say you need to have a phone with accidental damage to request the code, and also the code does not stack with trade in and newspaper code, did they change this?

  • Anyone getting an website internal error when trying to add the $50 voucher? Tried on different browsers but still getting the issue.

    • I also had issues, fresh browser worked for me though. Just completed order :)

      • What do you mean by fresh browser? I've also tried in cognito mode and still the same 500 error when using the $50 code

        • nevermind, only Opera browser worked for me

  • Just tell them that you have a damaged galaxy phone and then they will give you $200 code to use it towards upgrade ..

I got one for myself.. She didn't ask for any details about damaged phone .. I just said yes and she instantly generated code for me ..

How stupid.. I haven't used this code towards purchase so not sure.

  • I chatted to them this morning and told them a store rep advised me to come here to ask for a voucher to upgrade. She generated one for me on the spot.

I just used it towards S21 256GB version and when I was adding the $50 voucher I was getting errors.

Used MS Edge but same results.

Ended up using my phone browser and this seemed to accept both vouchers and I managed to place the order.

Total discount was $715 and only paid $634 instead of $1349

    $65 (traded-in my A70)
    $400 trade-in bonus
    $200 voucher

They also included a free 60W USB-C cable with free express shipping (1-2 days)

    • $65 (traded-in my A70)

Pretty sure that's worth more than $65 if it's in good working condition

Put it in on Facebook/gumtree/ozb classifieds and see if you get a better offer than $65!

      • I know it is worth more than $65 but the bonus trade in offer of $400 makes the deal worth it. It's like they paid me $465 for the phone.

I'm considering telling them I want to keep the phone and pay the $65 if they allow me but I got a feeling they will ask me to pay back the $400 trade bonus as well.

Let's wait and see what others experiences go and then decide

    • Hi mate which browser did you use
      Thanks

      • I used samsung internet browser from my phone

  • My check out transaction was failed, not sure why and when I retried, the trade in code said the code has been used. So annoyed. Not sure what to do now.

    • Uninstall and reinstall the trade-up app. You should then be able to generate a new trade ID

      • Thank you, but now website crash all the time. Aaargh!!

    • Check your emails incase it did some how use the code and they expect a device lol.

  • Can't get hold of anyone on the chat for my $200 voucher, must be busy!

  • 50 code is not going through :)

    • Opera browser my friend, and will be yours too!

      • Did you put the $50 code first or at end

    • use another explorer

  • +1

Finally managed to checkout, paid $489. Happy!

    • Hi
      Which browser you used

      • Opera browser is the answer! all others failed

      • i used IE

        • I tried IE, firefox, chrome, Edge all failed, but Opera worked

      • +1

        Chrome incognito

        • +1

This x1000. Legend, thank you for the idea!

  • I must be cursed because none of the browsers worked for me…including opera! =(

    • try chrome incognito like @double_J suggested… it worked for me after everything else failed!!

  • Is the trade up ending at midnight or extended?
Someone was saying they received a mail

  • Is anyone else not able to use their Trade-Up ID as well? Keeps showing up as "Invalid code" for me even after multiple attempts to generate new ones :(

    • did you put you CC in?

      • Yup, chose the online option and validated my credit card

    • Turns out you're supposed to put the code into the "Trade-In" section instead of "Promo Code". False alarm folks my bad

  • +2

    Offer extended!

    • +5

Samsung has reduced the trade in value of most phones. Most you can now get is $305. For example s10 up until midnight was $205. Now it's $155. S8 was $55, now $35.

      • Yup, S9+ was $110, now $90.

      • Useful info, thank you mate!!!

      • They have also removed certains phones from trade-in. Like A21s can no longer be traded in.

  • Can anyone confirm how much do we have to pay if we decided to keep the old phone?

    • +2

The app says the trade-in value of your old phone. Not sure Samsung will come after the bonus too.

      • That's I want to know if anyone can confirm. :)

        • +4

Samsung will not come after the bonus, I can confirm that.

          • @FeZZa21: That's great to know. Did you tell them that you want to keep or just leave it without returning until they charged you the value of your old phone?

            • @double_J: I havent got anything to say how to send it back?
So do i have to tell them im not going to?

  • +3

Just to add. If you have access to create a new afterpay account and use the refer a friend deal available in ozbargain, you can further take off another $30. The referee will also get a free $30 . All happy

  • +1

I received my new phone 2 days ago but I haven't got any emails about sending in my trade in phone.

    • Same here, nothing from either Asurion or Samsung

      • I've had my phone since Tuesday and haven't receive anything from them either
