$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

I sent them an email asking about this and got this.

      Hi,

Thanks for your query. If you wish to not return your old device, you will only be charged the amount that you were offered for your old device and it will no longer be a requirement to return the old device to us. Any promotion offer will still remain as it is. Hope that information was helpful.

You will be charged automatically. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged. But please keep the funds ready in your account to avoid any confusion. Please ignore any automated e-mails till then.

      Regards,

      Samsung trade-up team

      [email protected]

      • So does that mean I can get a friend with an eligible trade-in phone to download the app, get a trade-in code, and then I use it?
        Any potential downsides to this?

        • +1

Not really, you could even use th same phone multiple times. Reinstall the app to generate multiple Trade up codes. It's important to make sure you have a valid credit card though.

  • I got my phone last Friday (30/4). For some reason the status of my order is still sitting as "Dispatched" and hasn't changed to "Delivered", so I haven't got any emails from Asurion yet. Is anyone experiencing this?

    • Same here, got mine last Friday too, haven't opened yet as I need to make sure I get charged properly

      • Please update me on how this goes! Samsung's change of mind policy is 14 days, so I wouldn't be surprised if the asurion email comes after this…

EDIT: see below comment from @double_J:

        Update:

        I received reply today:

    • Same here, just waiting for the email.

  • Why would my device not qualify as being eligible?
It says the Bluetooth isn’t working properly?

    • So… is your bluetooth working properly? If it works, did you forget to turn it on during the bluetooth test?

      • +1

Thanks rocket fish, I managed to get a $200 code with a different device, but still waiting for a $50 code 😔

  • I never got my $50 code. Done 5 different email addresses from different domains and none….

    • Just email them from one of the addresses, they will reply back to you with a code on the next business day.

  • Anyone traded their new phone back in for more than they paid to upgrade to the ultra?
Doubling up on the $200 and $400 deals?

  • Seems like the $200 voucher offer has expired. If anyone is happy with the $450 off but phone is not working, if you have an iPad (or maybe another tablet) you can try that. My old but still well used iPad came up as $160, I was going to hold onto it and get the S21 for $600.

  • Like Miss B mentioned, the $200 credit no longer available…..

So for me $95 trade in + $400 bonus + $50 voucher. Looking at the 256 S21 goign to cost me 804, say I go on a $45 MBM plan than total over 12 months is $1344

JB deal will be $100 upfront for the phone and $99 for 12 months, $56 cheaper more full speed data but with Telstra (No 5G at my home and 4G speed has been slow).

since that Samsung offer has a while to go, may hold up and see what is coming with click frenzy. Doesn't look good though if last years offering was to go by, especially Optus not with the most garbage phone and plan pricing in the market😥😥😥

I got the $200 voucher yesterday evening. Just had to say it was to purchase a new phone as I had damaged my old galaxy.

      • Seems you are lucky, I just try again with a different email and phone number. The person over the other side claims they know nothing about a $200 code and they only deal with promotion that is officially on their website.

        A non related matter:
Sometimes I feel that I am shooting myself on the foot with upholding the principle of supporting non China brands. Yes Samsung doesn't have to give me that discount but if you are not trying for my business then why am I supporting you.

I had my broken Mi8 with me when I go to Asia few years ago. Hong Kong office refuse to touch it. Then come to Shanghai, the guys there has every right to reject it but instead they give me two hour repair and just charge the standard price and from what the girl told me, they put the phone in front of all other jobs knowing I am a tourist. So 90 mins later and 650rmb lighter in my wallet, I walk out with my Mi8 with a brand new original screen.

Now as much as I smash the CCP and China brands, this is services man!!

As for the $200 voucher, I have 2 more phone number I can try, see if I can get lucky.

        • Maybe next time when you do online chat, try to say that you have issue with your existing Samsung phone and looking to buy S21 as replacement. When I did my chat, the guy asked me whether I want to buy S21 and whether I had the phone in my cart. I told him that I wanted to buy but will do the purchase in the evening as I was still at work, so he generated code for me. I did this on 29 April, the last day of previous promotion.

          Good luck!

  • I was given the $200 code on chat on Friday , I went back to them today to ask if I can pay the $35 trade in price and keep my device, they said definitely not, you have to trade in.

    • Just dont send the device in. Or say the phone broke.

  • Got the $200 voucher off chat but the agent already told me that it's not stackable with trade in or newsletter $50 code
Trade in doesnt seem to be working at the moment so i cant try it

    • That defeat the purpose then. May as well port out to a prepaid and see how Ckick Frenzy goes.

The sucking part is Optus now bill you a whole month instead of prorota from the day you ported out. There is a minimum 5 days gap from my billing cycle (ends in 3 days) befor click frenzy.

      • i tried the code though and it seems to be stackable though
so maybe the warning was actually encouragement to do it lol

    • Mine was stackable! Did it today about 2 hours ago

  • Anyone managed to get the Online website Trade-up bit working? I've been getting "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" all weekend and again this morning ?

    Thanks h.

    • Happened to me too, it will work when you put in your credit card details (they will charge you $1)
Also dont forget to get the $200 voucher from chat and a $50 voucher for signing up to the newsletter

      • Thanks, will try again :-) Do you have to go through the actual purchase online and then put in the Trade-In id somewhere? I've been selecting the phone and then trying to enter the Trade-In Id and it always errors :-(

        • It errored for me, then i put my credit card details on the trade up app on my iphone.
After i finished all the steps on iphone, i went to the website, put an s21 on the cart and there is an option there to put the trade-in code. If you did all the steps on the app, the code should now work

          • @nikoris: Yes I did all that a few days ago, been waiting for the $50 sign-up voucher. Am now trying to buy online from my laptop NOT from the phone, already have the trade in ID and they have a button on website to click to enter Trade-in ID but it always errors after you put it in. Maybe I need to buy on the phone instead - sounds like you did everything on your phone?

            Cheers H.

Doh - Followup post to above comment… I went back to the trade-in phone but after getting the trade in Id on the phone went further this time and I had to put in cc details on phone on next screen or one after. After that all sweet on the laptop browser - order in and waiting for confirmation :-)

            Cheers H.

  • I literally just did it, handed in my iphone 11 ($305) also got $400+$200+$50 discount on s11 128gb.
it ended up costing me $294, not a bad deal

  • Thanks will try again :-)

  • For those who have received their phones - any issues so far?
I haven't opened mine yet but getting cold feet after reading reports of overheating on both Exynos and Snapdragon versions, not just the Ultra but also the base model as well. There seem to be mixed reports whether the latest software update resolves the issues, and while some people say their phone gets so hot it's unusable (while doing non-gaming tasks like taking photos), others say theirs hardly gets above 30-35 degrees even when gaming. Not sure if I should return mine or not…

    • i mean, if it overheats you can always send it back, its obviously faulty

      • True, but seeing how Samsung hasn't acknowledged it as being an issue I don't know if they'll accept it without a messy argument - it's hard to draw an exact line between what's a normal amount of heat and what's not.

  • I received my new phone almost a week ago but I haven't received any communication about the trade in - is anyone else in the same situation? Not sure who to contact…

Same here, not planning to do anything to chase up will just wait for the email to arrive.

      • +2

Heads up, I got the email today - requesting the return within 7 days.

        • Me too

        • same here, received the email today.

should i reply the email and tell them i don't want to return my device? have anyone done it before?

          • +1

@tgame: There's a separate email for inquiries: [email protected], see at the bottom of the message.

              • @double_J: I received the same e-mail when I send through my enquiries, and I have decided to hold onto my Galaxy Note which is still going strong.

  • Is the Samsung s21 good value for $600, or is there a different / cheaper phone that you would recommend please?

  • +1

this still works. managed to "Trade" S8 for S21 256GB 5G

    $1349 - 200 (chat code) - $50 (newletter) - $400 (trade bonus) - $35 (S8 trade) = $664.

    happy days.

    • How did you get the $50 and $200 code?

      • Talk to chat say your phone is broken and needs to be repaired. They then give you a $200 code so you don't need to repair but can upgrade your phone instead.

$50 is for newsletter signup but you might need to wait a few days to get it or not at all… personally I was cbf figured $200 + $400 discount was worth way more and didn't want to miss it!

  • Getting this error now when trying the Trade In option in cart, "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    • tried a different browser, seems to have worked

  • Got this deal through today too. Got a whopping $5 trade in on my 5 year old S7 but, with the other discounts, put my S21 price down to $595 so I'm very happy.

    • Got a whopping $5 trade in on my 5 year old S7

      1) Tell ASURION you don't want to send it in and charge you $5 for your S7
      2) Then sell your S7 on Gumtree/Facebook MP for more than $5
      3) ????
      4) Profit

      • Good idea!

        • Did this work?

          • +1

@clanton: I decided not to do this as I can't be bothered dealing with gumtree/fb bottom feeders for the sake of a few bucks more.

            • +2

@Ozstache: FYI my old S7 is used as helicopter for 7 eleven fuel, it is perfect for it.

            • @Ozstache: You'll save a lot more than $100 in a year for fuel if you turn your s7 into a 7/11 chopper

Is the base model s21 128gb just reduced to $1099??

    • Yep. Dang feel ripped off now.

      • Yeah noticed it last night after S20FE closed… Jumped on it at that price point. All discounts still applied (trade up, $50 newsletter, $200 loyalty, and $400 trade up bonus). Brought it to 394

    • Can we claim the price difference? Or maybe claim from our credit card price protection (guaranteed price scheme)?

  • Just got an S21 for the wife for $394 "trading in" an old S8+. Great deal

  • Great deal $35 tradein on my S8 + $200 chat voucher + $400 bonus tradein got the 256gb S21 for $564 didn't wait for $50 newsletter voucher.

Thinking I'll just not send my S8 in and sell it on facebook instead? Won't lose $400 tradein bonus if I don't send it back?

    • No. You will get the trade in bonus if you don't turn it in.

P.S. Could have gotten 100 off with the new Samsung Deal right now.

      • Yeah I did that was base price $1,199 for S21 256GB

        $1,199 - $200 - $400 - $35 = $564 (won't turn in S8 pay $35 maybe get $100-150 for it)

        You're saying there's another $100 off?

        Could've got S21 128gb for $1,099

        • Ah sorry, I thought you were talking about the base S21 (128GB version). The price should be right.

        • So basically when they ask you to send it in, you don't and you still get the $400 off??

  • Could anyone post screenshot of the S21 5G 128gb at reduced price please? I want to claim the price protection from my credit card. Thank you

    • Just open the link from the deal header.
Does your price guarantee apply to purchases via internet? For my two cards (CBA & ANZ) it's only for brick and mortar stores and printed catalogues.

  • $50 coupon took too long, Samsung are probably holding off on them intentionally due to the stacking of everything else.

S21 Ultra grabbed for $860 after note 9 trade in.

Had $220 worth of cashbacks sitting in my paypal which made it feel even better! Cheers OP

  • Chat says:

"Whilst we're waiting, I just want to let you know that Voucher Codes are valid for purchasing products from the Samsung Australia website ONLY and is not stackable with other promotions such as the $50 newsletter and Trade Up. It will expire 7 days from the date of issuance."

    I ignore this?

Second time lucky. Got a code from Katie for my broken S8 screen.

  • Trade in only works with credit card only according to chat, my debit card keeps saying card validation failed

  • No love for old Note 5 either, otherwise want to upgrade wife's phone

  • dont have a phone to trade in, can i still do this?

also how can i get a $200 code when chat live is offline atm?

    • I’ve had a chat with live chat jumar a few mins ago and he said they are not offering the $200 voucher anymore. Im not sure if he was just in a hurry to go home. I will try again tomorrow.

      • yea they not giving out the voucher anymore.

  • Trying to trade perfectly working S7 for $5. But the app reported "Micro Phone Failed" and now unable to get $400 credit. Any ideas? Should i do a factory reset and run the app again?
Still waiting for the signup bonus email .. 2 days.. how long did it take for others?
Already got $200 credit from the chat bot. Mentioned my battery keep draining and already did a factory reset and tested with the local Samsung kiosk here in Adelaide

    • Clear the cache for the Trade up app and start again.

    • For the newsletter signup code ask for it in the chat on the website. They were able to send me this code manually next day.

  • I still have not word from Samsung of the order that I have made. Still waiting for the delivery.

  • Anyone here who got the Waiting for Approval after payment? My father-in-law's order is not confirmed now and I noticed that there are 2 Promo flags in the Order Summary email of the order today as opposed to just having 1 flag when I got for myself last Friday. I wish they do not cancel it.

    • Same. Ordered this morning, received an Order Received email with order requiring review and order status is "Waiting for Approval".

      • Finally got updated today and it is now Dispatched

  • Ordered 2 days ago used all vouchers plus paid with a new afterpay account with referral code to get another 30$ off. Phone being delivered today. Also managed to get another set of vouchers yesterday for a family member.
