Anyone know of any updates on the V11 carpet head? Should I just pull the trigger and wait for the head to come separately?

    •

Is the issue they haven't made one yet or they're not selling them to Australia?

I saw a thread about this a few months ago I think when the v11 was first announced with people saying they'd buy it and wait for the carpet head - seems like the situation is still the same and they haven't released it for AU yet?

      •

I ended up just buying the bastard. I'll still get a bit of use out of it even without the carpet head. I have no idea what the story is with it though

  •

For anyone interested, Wireless1 have started updating some of their Plus items for the promo.

    E.g. Apple AirPods Max - Silver MGYJ3ZA/A will be $730.15 after 15%.

Apple AirPods (2nd gen) with Charging Case (MV7N2ZA/A) - $187.85

Apple Airpods Pro with Wireless Charging Case MWP22ZA/A Noise Cancellation - $287.30

    when does the promo start?

      10am today I believe

  •

Damn! just bought the V11 from these guys for $359 last week! wonder if I can get the difference back….

    •

What’s your thoughts on it as a whole? You going to order a carpet head when comes available or is the soft roller adequate?

      • +1 vote

haven't had lots of time playing with it as yet but for the 30 mins I had it in my hand, I feel it's definitely an "upgrade" to my Dyson V6.

I used the soft roller on my carpet, it did a decent job and get the work done just fine. But I will definitely get the carpet head when that's available.

        •

Awesome thanks, have picked one up!

    • +2 votes

Store rep was kind enough to refund the original $359 if I re-order it at $339, which I did.

so far they seem to be trustworthy given how quick their delivery was ( next day delievery) and how responsive they are on my request here ( replied my PM within 20 minutes)

      •

hmm so you end up with 2 monitors ?

        •

lol. it was the vacuum I bought and no they are not going to post the new order ….

          • +1 vote

@firedoophin: oh sorry i thought monitor.
hmm weird so they will cancel + refund the order that already delivered and accept 339 mark as delivered straight away, i guess that is the trick

  •

Does anyone know what type of panel the Xiaomi is? I looked on their website and it doesn't say.. I think I remember people saying in previous deals that it's VA.

Will there be much colour shift if used in portrait mode?

    • +2 votes

I am wondering how could use a 34inch curve screen in portrait mode. it is IMPOSSIBLE!

      • +1 vote

        That's not what they're for.

And it's not impossible, depending on your use case, but also not a good idea. Tbh I guess the eyeball still curves the same way vertically as horizontally…

        •

but the eyes are horizontally aligned, not vertically
so reading it while curved would look weird/harder and text probably would be somewhat distorted

and also the color distortion in portrait mode would be more noticeable

          •

@pinkybrain: Ah yes. That's an excellent point honestly.

The other consideration is that for stuff like reading tons of lines of code the 32:9 is ideal, BUT… curved screens are not ideal for code imo even horizontally and that would be 1000x worse vertically.

      • +1 vote

        Not really..

        just flatten it first

      •

Really? I think it would be alright with a good monitor stand?
The top of my 27" monitor is 70cm from my desk, so a 34" monitor in portrait would only be an extra 15cm higher..
It would be pretty big, but I don't think it would be too big.

        •

also you forgot the curve issue in portrait which could see distorted size text
and color distortion in portrait mode would be more noticeable

          •

@pinkybrain: I guess I haven't used a curved monitor in portrait mode so I'm not sure how obvious the image distortion will be - I hadn't thought about that

            •

@lyle88: not to mention our eyes are align horizontally not vertically

so I think it would feel a bit weird reading lots of text that is distorted as you move your eyes up and down the screen
since the text at the center would be closes to your eyes, and as it curves the text/display/light would move a bit further from the eye distance..

Sure if might feel weird at first
but if you keep doing it you will probably get used it.

you can test it by printing text on a piece of paper
then curving the paper and read the text

              •

                @pinkybrain: Haha that's a good trick to try, but I don't have any 34" paper 😅

                •

@lyle88: tape four pieces of A4
even try with 2 pieces of A4

Not sure if this replicate the experience like on a curve monitor
but it is the best I can think of without having access to curve monitor

You can go to Harvey Norman etc
and try it on their smaller curve monitors to test

    • +5 votes

      Curved monitor in portrait mode?

    • +2 votes

It's a VA panel, I don't notice much colour shift in landscape at extreme angles but it might be worth going to IPS if you're going to use it in portrait

    What's the v10 2 head combo link?

Xiaomi parent/sub a lot of Robovac brands

Xiaomi Mijia Viomi Roborock Dreame Roidmi
          and etc

    •

How is the v9? Thinking of getting it but i have no experience with any of these xiaomi units

      •

can't comment much, it was my first handvac - but it gets the job done. the battery doesn't last anywhere near advertised…
i think i'll be able to comment more once i receive the v11, so i can tell any differences.

planning to buy the monitor next month (once i get some cash sorted under monitor budget). not sure if these deals last till next month.

    • +1 vote

Hope you enjoy it. I bought it last month and reckon it's one of my best purchases in a long time. Using for home office most days, and gaming in the evening.

      •

what do you do at night ?

        •

I sleep with my wife and adjust our two-year-old son when he wakes in his cot.

Oh you mean what do I play on the monitor? Mostly the game Elite Dangerous. And sometimes Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but in that I mostly poke things in the open world and see how they react, instead of making progress. I bought a 3070 in the Black Friday sales that I could probably sell now at a huge profit, but it's a great match for the 34" widescreen monitor, so I've kept it.

      •

second this. bought my first one during the black friday sales last year and i have no regrets for what i purchased. extremely good value purchase
Just make sure you have a strong enough PC system if you do intend to game on it.

    •

      not a chance.

      •

There are deals on this monitor almost at least once a month for similar prices.

    •

There'll be another deal next month on this monitor for sure.

      •

this price was just on like one week ago

      • +2 votes

Worst case there will probably be another fifteen Dell deals

    •

some/same new deal will come up
      or even cheaper price

  •

does anyone know how well the monitor works with mac os?

    • +1 vote

Works fine for me, MacBook Pro (non-M1)

      •

does the split screen app works for mac os? basically having 2 app on split screen mode.

        •

I’m not aware of any app…

        • +1 vote

If you’re referring to this, then yep it sure does :)

  •

dang.. bought the bidet the other day for 360.. hasn't even arrived yet :\

  •

Can i pay with ebay gift card? i have not bought the gift card but also do not see the option to use the gift card on checkout.

    •

Yes you can. You enter the gc number in the code box

  •

    Uclean I almost saw Unclean

  •

The amount of times this monitor has been on sale - everyone should have one by now.

    •

should have two by now :-)

  •

Thanks OP, bought the monitor finally!!!

  •

Can the monitor run 4K native Res over HDMI - or does it require DisplayPort ?

My work and personal laptops only have HDMI.

    •

      It isn't 4k, 3440x1440 native :)

      •

Yeah sorry, typo, just meant the native Res.
My current 27" Dell is 1440p but only via DisplayPort - it's limited to 1080p via HDMI. But is 2013 model.

I ordered one anyway - should arrive by Monday.

  •

Awesome, bought a couple of old school Nintendo Game & Watches and saved $30!

    •

      huh ? wrong thread?

  •

    Sorry stupid question.

The code doesn't work for me.

Is this for specifically for EBAY Plus members only?

    •

The code has plus on it…. hint ..

      •

        Cool thanks :)

Has anyone received their 34" screen yet?
I ordered 27/4 and have a tracking number, but it doesn't seem to have been collected by Australia Post yet..

    • +2 votes

same here…I don't think the item has been posted yet.

    •

Exactly the same for me. Got a tracking number, but not in transit yet.

      •

I sent GB a message via eBay at 3pm today - and Australia Post say they received the item at 4pm today.. coincidence ?

        • +1 vote

I just checked auspost tracking and it says the same for me, recieved by auspost at 4:05 pm. Maybe you pushed everyone's order along. Thanks

          •

@gnarfman: Just received mine on the Gold Coast.

            •

@systmworks: Where has this screen been all my life…

              Pretty happy for the price.
I know its a gaming monitor… but so far the most impressive thing was the first time I opened Excel full screen.

              • +2 votes

@systmworks: I was just coming here to say mine arrived this arvo in adelaide. Yeh excel is crazy. enjoy.
