Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p V2 $79.95 (Expired), Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p $59.95 Delivered @ Creative Australia

Update:
Now available for back order and delivery from 18 May. Thanks @donutti
Was on the lookout for a good webcam and found this deal by Creative. There's a release of a new model: Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p V2 going for 79.95. The older model is now even cheaper, 25% off at 59.95 delivered, previously 69.95 and 99 elsewhere. I honestly think the older model is good enough for me, the new model adds automute and noise cancellation, the camera quality is still the same. Do note that orders will only be processed on May 3 due to the annual stocktake.

  • video quality any good? Looking to upgrade from my cheap $30 one.

    • +1

Based on most reviews, it's good for the price. Here's a discussion thread from a previous deal on the same thing: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600854. I just got one so I'm hoping to test it out. I Will let you know when it comes!

I have used viofo's p800 webcam, they sre surprisingly very decent quality compared to my old logitech one, would highly recommend others to try.

    • I've got a few for my office. Pretty decent quality. Mic is pretty good as well. Good for video calls/meetings. A lot better than the ones you get on your laptops.

If you're using it for streaming/recording, them maybe the Logitech's are better suited for you because quality is better but the price is a lot higher too.

      • +1

If your streaming/youtubing skip the webcam altogether and get a dlr

For meeting/video call these are excellent value

  • Great deal op

  • +1

Thanks op, the reviews for the previous model sounded great so purchased the v2 to test out the superior mics!

    • +2

Was tempted to get the V2 too haha, please lemme know if the mic is as good as they say it is.

  • Thx OP. I got one 2 days ago however these are much more superior. Good to see creative still around

  • +1

Can vouch for it, bought one couple a weeks ago, video quality is great! Easy setup - plug & play

  • Autofocus or manual?

    • -1

I don't think there's any focusing needed to be done. It's a wideview camera based on the website. I've linked it here so you can see. Maybe someone here who has the webcam can advise? httpss://au.creative.com/p/web-cameras/creative-live-cam-sync-1080p#feature-section-1

  • This work with Android as its UVC compliant?

Now that Duo is supported on Google TV devices I want to use the TV for conf calls.

    • I don't think I can comment on that. It isn't mentioned anywhere on the website unfortunately. :/

    • I am looking a webcam for same reason. I need a camera that is good video and good mic quality as well

  • Thanks! I bought one for my wife during the last deal, and wished I'd bought one for myself too.

  • Thanks op! Needed one and saw your post at the right time :) will try the V2 and see.

  • This or Razer Kiyo?

    • Depends on what you want. This is quite a good deal for the price. Kiyo is more than twice the price of this with some extra features like a ring light. But I'll just stick with the cheaper option. It's just a webcam after all haha. Just my thoughts.

    • +1

Razer wouldn't be that much better for almost double the price

  • cheers mate!

No need to ask these imbeciles to be merciful.
    Thanks for the post.

    30fps. No thanks.

  • Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p back in stock again.

  • https://au.creative.com/p/web-cameras/creative-live-cam-sync… here's a direct link to the $59 if anyone else struggled to find it on the website like me.

  • ordered the v2. sick of looking at my laptop screen for meetings when i have a 27" dell. Now i can finally mount a webcam front on to my big screen. will report back on the mic quality.

    • Hi Mate
Can you please let us know howz the cam and mike. Looking for similar use case like you to put on the monitor screen for webex and teams call

      • Please ignore as I just read the comments below

Can you put the word webcam into the title or description so it alerts people with that alert?

    • Done!

      • +1

thank you! the $59 is back in stock too so you can remove sold out :)

        • I've just check it, it seems like it's out of stock for $59 one at the moment. Will update when in stock again.

          • @twlandre: Thanks OP! Both webcams seems to have stock available, but 18 may onwards, so you can remove sold out :)

  • Citibank just charged me international transactions fee for paying through paypal for this. Did anyone else get that?

    • I don't appear to have been. I paid with PayPal and bank with ANZ.
How much were you charged for the international transaction?

      • I was charged $2.03 by citibank. Im wondering whether its worth a being on hold for 20 mins to get that reversed.

        • That's strange I paid with a debit card. I didn't get any charges. Did you pay using another currency?

Seems to be on back order now from the 18th of May

    • Thanks will update!

  • got mine yesterday (V2), the mic seems to sound very tinny like I'm on an old mobile phone or something :( not impressed

there are also no controls over brightness of the camera. or any settings for the camera at all.

    • I got mine yesterday too. The V1 mic sounds okay, but I'll still got for a dedicated mic. Not sure if the Logitech mic is any better. But thanks for updating, I guess I'm sticking with V1 then. How about the smart unmute function ? Does it work ?

      • I've put noise clean-out on and voice detect (the mute/unmute thing), seems ok in the test call but will check with others the feedback. My surface laptop 3 built in mic is WAY better than this.
