    I have one of these as a desk, it's quite nice. It's definitely worth spending the extra $30 over the below IKEA options as this is solid wood.

      The Ikea LAGKAPTEN is a hollow fibreboard construction with acrylic coating. (similar like an interior door is constructed). It won't need oiling. Trying to cut it down to a smaller size would probably ruin it.

      The Apex tabletop doesn't specify the materials or the surface finish. I suspect that it's a wood laminate on a cheaper board and will already have a laquer finish.

  For this one I just cut it, did a small amount of sanding and used linseed oil on it. (This made it darker)

      It's been perfect! I wanted one with a display where I could set multiple heights (some had only the up/down or one or two settings)

      I don't have any wobble either, which I was thinking could potentially happen with the amount of items I'm putting on it..

        Which base did you use, I keep seeing all the bases are wider then the Bunnings panel. The bases all seem to be 700mm wide and the Bunnings panel is 600mm, do you happen to suggest anything or have i missed something.
