Dyson DC29 Multifloor

I have spent the last week trying to get a DC29 for under $400. No one would price match any of the receipts from on here, claiming they were all way below cost and that they wouldn't price match boxing day sale prices. So we give in and I send my husband off to get the lowest price we found of the week, $425 at Clive Anthony's, Carseldine. My Husband must have sweet talked the sales person, as he ended up getting it for $380 and he got a power head for $60, which we have returned already as we realised we don't need it because the vacuum cleaner is so awesome on its own!

Hopefully someone else can use our receipt to price match.

  • i too had this problem.

i just bought the same vacuum cleaner in sydney. got it at bing lee for $380 without any problems. harvey norman had it on 'sale' for $445 and when i asked them their lowest price, they told me they were selling below their 'cost price'. myer and DJs didn't have the DC29 in stock. good guys have it advertised for $438 but where i live there aren't any good guys close to me.

  • I would of kept the powerhead, it makes a difference when you wear the vacuum cleaner in. Works great on carpets! I know Dysons are awesome already but it makes it so much better.

I have the DC19 so talking from experience.

    • We only have a rug, no carpets!

      • Sweet :) You did the right thing then! Those tiles should be looking brand new.

  • damn, it would almost be worth the 5 hour drive to Carseldine. Ditto on the powerhead. We had a DC05 and I foolishly let hubby convince me to get rid of it to get a combined shampooer/vacuum that is the biggest pile of cr*p ever. He used it for about the fifth time ever yesterday and announced he's never using it again because it's useless. yeeehah. I'm thinking another dyson might be good. :)

  • Thanks for posting this baycie (and for your receipt) - went to Joyce Mayne for a price match. They wouldn't drop below $400, but we scored the turbine head (same one you had) for $50, so only $10 more over all.
