  • I ordered the same from the Dell eBay store several day ago for around 380. I guess I can cancel it without any issues?

    • Worth giving them a call. Dell's sales terms are usually pretty good.

      • Don't cancel the order, just speak with chat support and get the difference refunded, they have a 30 day price guarantee.

        • I tried that too with my aw3821dw a while ago, not working, turns out Dell eBay and Dell are different departments, ended up returning and repurchase, but worth a shot tho. IMO if eBay order haven’t shipped yet just cancel it, you get a faster delivery too (mine s2721qs just shipped)

          • @rainbowyen: Damn you're right. I just tried and they refused as it was through eBay. That's pretty bullshit honestly, I'm buying from the Dell store on eBay, the money goes to Dell, the fact that they don't have a system to price match that is ridiculous.

      • Thanks mate, will do

  • Thanks OP. Looking for a 27" QHD or UHD monitor for last few days. Great timing.

  • Anyone got a spare stand to sell? Please PM.

  • +1

    lowest ever

  • Beautiful monitor. Compliments my 27" 5K iMac very well as a second screen.

    • I just bought one, can you please let me know the cable you use for the iMac (mine late 2014) thanks

  • Is 27" a good alternative to having 2 monitors? Mostly used for productivity and a bit of gaming here and there.

    • +1

Some would say get 2x 27"

    • +2

im going to try a 27" and a 24"1080p next to it… (or just use the one monitor)

    • +1

I have a 27" Acer Predator with a 24" Dell U2412M next to it, works as a good setup. Have trouble doing Teamviewer sessions to people with multiple screens sometimes so I have been considering 34" Ultrawide as a replacement for the 2 separate monitors. I don't think a single 27" is a good replacement for 2x 24" no.

  • +1

Anyone got a good affordable docking station to recommend?

  • If anyone can help, what's the difference between this and say an ultrawide monitor? I am just looking for a 27-32 inch monitor for mainly work purposes and engaging in the odd game.

    • This is 4k, ultrawides generally are not.
      Having used a 38inch ultra wide I prefer the picture quality of a 4k screen. I switched from 38uw to 32 4k.
Its nice but for working I like dual screens. Im thinking of buying two of these.

  • +1

Wow, thank you. I bought this one in the recent eBay sale for $319. Have just repurchased for $280 and organised a return and refund of the original which had a build flaw.

  • Damnit I bought a DS for my mum only a week ago for about $30 less. What's the Dell returns policy like ?

  • Purchased one on the last deal for my Mac mini m1
Fantastic 4K monitor, love it …

    • Do you have it connected via HDMI or Displayport?

      • HDMI …

      • You can use either.

      • Doesn't matter on a 60hz display.

  • HDR or "HDR"?

    • +2

"HDR", it's crap and only used for marketing, still a solid screen though.

  • Thank you OP.
    Ordered one 👍

  • Already have AW3821DW, bought one for vertical display (browsing web MMD etc.) :)

  • Nice Mon, got one last Month, paid $50 more

  • +1

How would this compare to the latest 24 inch iMac monitor?

    • +2

Same res, different PPI (163 ppi vs 186 "retina")
No USB-C vs 4x USB-C plus daisy chaining
Tax-writeoff-able vs depreciable over several years

    • this is 27inch so it might look asymmetrical side by side..

    • The colour accuracy/reproduction will be better on the new M1 iMac. The Dell is a budget 4K screen, albeit a very good one for the price.

  • Thanks OP, got one for the office!

  • +1

Thanks OP! Bought one and then two more for a triple monitor setup!

  • +1

beware of anyone using displayport for this monitor, I get an occasional flicker with it (as if it lost the signal and got it back). HDMI is fine though.

    • Can you get 4k 60 over HDMI?

      • yes HDMI 2.0 supports this.

    • +2

Which displayport cable are you using?

This is the one you need to use: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/264853512770

    • Same! Although it's on the S2721Q monitor.

    • I am having the same issue. It's not too horrible and not so frequently but the problem is visible.

    • Have you tried different cables? I have had many dodgy displayport cables over the years.

    • I am using it with Xbox series x…fortunately no such drops.

    • +1

I'm using the display port 100% of the time and never had any issues. Check your cable, check the port in your PC, if both of them are working fine with other monitors then definitely it's a warranty claim.

      • i had similar problem …..is the driver on the onboard GPU switching on my laptop which is 1080 p screen and locked by company so can’t update ….checked syslog on laptop which was complaining about the driver …..no problems on my desktop.

    • I have the same problem. Happens very occasionally, maybe once a day or once every few days, randomly. When this happens, I usually turn the monitor off and back on again, and the problem doesn't happen again for a while. I use an expensive VESA certified DisplayPort cable now, and I noticed the problem tends to happen more often with cheap cables.

  • Can anybody confirm if I can daisy chain this to my P2419HC via a displayport cable?

I've got my work laptop connected to the P2419HC via usb-c and intend on using the S2721QS as my main monitor instead.

    TIA!

Bought one, but thinking of buying a second for dual-screens. Using it for office work, so coding, spreadsheets, etc. Any recommendations for a decent docking station that can support dual 4K? Currently using a Targus ACP7701 which I don't think supports the resolutions I need.

  • Thanks, grabbed one

  • +1

    Thanks, got 2!

  • For an office monitor, is 27"4K too small a resolution? Currently using a Dell U2711 which is 2560x1440p.

    • It can be, but you can always just change the scaling of the operating system you're on to counter it. Best of both worlds.

    • i has a 32” screen , now one of my 4k screens is 27”, the other is 28” …very nice size for office type work as you don’t need to move head left or right to see from edge to edge ….at the office they give us 2x24” 1080p ….hate it, would rather 27” 4k.

  • Using 4k will require beefier gpu than if using 1440p?

    • If gaming, probably yes, otherwise probably not.

  • Crying in HDMI 1.4

  • Basic question… hooking up 2 of these monitors to a laptop with FHD screen (1920x1080) will still result in the output on the monitors being UHD?

Also, with the laptop only having 1 HDMI port, would using a hub off the type c port with another HMDI output allow the 2 screens to show separate images? (well 3 including the laptop screen).

    • +2

For your situation no, it won't work. This monitor uses HDMI 2.0 which supports a maximum of 4K@60FPS, you'd be trying to push twice what the standard is rated for, not possible.

Your laptop screen won't limit the resolution of the monitor plugged into it given that the HDMI generation on it is equal to or greater than the HDMI generation of the monitor in question.

      • Could I use a hub (with multiple HDMI ports) off the type C and run it at a lower refresh rate?

Not using it for gaming, just home office.

        • +1

With the information you've given I don't have an answer. There are many USB-C standards (like Thunderbolt) and generations that would change my recommendation. Sorry.

    • +1

you might be asking a lot from a laptop and it’s GPU …..most just have a hdmi port.
my laptop is 1080p and i run 1 x 4k screen of its hdmi, mine sometimes blanks as i switch from one screen to another so turn it down to single screen now while working from home, and change displays when in office again ….

    • +1

Depending on the capabilities of your laptop, this is definitely possible. I have a rather powerful laptop with gaming oriented graphics card with 4k screen. I have hooked two 4k monitors (one via HDMI and the other via Display port), thus resulting three 4K monitor setup (all 3 at 60 Hz) with no issues whatsoever. I have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 which can do that with no issues. Most laptops with both display and HDMI ports could do this I suppose but number of Hz may vary depending on the HDMI and Display port versions of the laptop.

      • Thanks for your help, the laptop has a VGA port and HMDI. Can I go VGA to Display Port?

The graphics card is a Integrated AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. Even the screens run at 30hz would that work?

        • +1

Sounds you need a upscaler to possible get 4K from it.
          https://www.auselectronicsdirect.com.au/vga-to-4k-hdmi-upsca…

Google : Can VGA Support 4K?
Due to hardware limits, VGA cannot support 4K which is 3840×2160. VGA’s maximum resolution is around 2048×1536 which is 2K, and it probably won’t be true HD. For higher resolutions, use HDMI, Display Port, or DVI.

        • +1

If your laptop has a VGA port, that probably means it's an old laptop. From VGA port you won't get 4K output (with or without adaptor). It's likely you have an older HDMI version as well, which means you might not get 4K out from HDMI as well. Even if you do (at a slim chance), it won't be at 60 Hz. I honestly think you should upgrade your system mate.

          • @npnp: Just found the spec of the laptop:
            - Supports 3 independent displays
            - Max. resolution: 3840x2160 @ 30Hz (HDMI)

Would it be worthwhile running these monitors at 30hz?

            • +1

@jm456: Nah.. I wouldn't do that if I were you.

  • Thanks OP. I will be using this through a KVM switch to work between my personal and work computer. This is for people who use these monitors with such a setup. Which is the best KVM switch out in the market currently that supports 4K and does not cost a bomb.

  • Bought my first Dell monitor. Thanks OP

  • is this the exact same monitor as the non s version? i have the non s version now and want to get a dual monitor arm, will they look exactly the same next to each other if i get the s version? sounds silly i just want it to look the shniz!

    • +3

No difference if you use a dual monitor arm.
      The S stands for Stand.

  • Anyone done a vertical stack with these? i.e. both in landscape mode, but one above each other).

I'm thinking of getting three more of these so I can have one on each side in portrait with two in the middle stacked on top of each other to replace my 4K VA panel.

    • Wouldn't you get neck pain if you had to crane your neck up all the time to look at the top monitor(s)?

  • Don't forget 10% CASHBACK on Top!

Great deal, bought one for the Homeoffice.

One of the most important factors for me is this one -

Easy on the eyes: This TÜV-certified monitor has a flicker-free screen with ComfortView, a feature that reduces harmful blue light emissions. It’s designed to optimize eye comfort even over extended viewing – like your next movie marathon.

    • +1

      0% on monitors?

    • Monitors are 0.00%

    • Bought one $0 tracked.

  • Fast delivery.
Ordered it on 18 May 2021 and I have just received an email saying it has been on local courier.

  • Mine was shipped this morning via StarTrack!

  • ordered last night, expect delivery tomorrow.
    that was quick

  • Finally replacing my ancient 60hz 1080p VA secondary screen with this which will sit next to my 34" WQHD 1440p 144hz gaming monitor (This 4k will get used predominantly for text/pictures/movies)! Can't wait!!! Thanks OP!

  • I currently have two 20ish inches monitors

Should I get one of these?

  • Does anyone have experience using a 1440p gaming monitor as primary and then using a 4k monitor in portrait on the side? Just wondering how well windows handles those two resolutions and what the scaling ends up looking like

    • Id love to know this aswell. im holding off on the buy because i dont know the answer

  • whoops, just grabbed 2. Have been eyeing these off for a while, $561 delivered doesnt hurt too much at least

  • Mine shipped too. Really quick turnaround considering they would have sold a fair few at this price.

  • +2

This is a valid coupon code, but there are no matching items currently in your cart.

    • Same, seems we waited just too long

    • +1
