  • Only been in business for 3 years…I'd research extensively

  • Besides the above comment, is this really a good deal can someone advise? Not knowledgeable enough about solar panels, pricing, brands and features. It is all too confusing all the various deals etc

    • As a general rule, the installer is more important than the hardware (once the hardware is of a reasonable spec). So investigate the installer.

      • Thanks for your comments guys. Totally agree with mickeyjuiceman the installer is the key to ensuring you get a quality system which actually works how its supposed to.

We have our own inhouse installers, this ensures quality workmanship and care on each job.

    Good panels, cheap inverter.

  • Do you install SolarEdge inverters?

    • Hi Broos,

Yes we do install SolarEdge as well. In most cases we use SolarEdge for properties with multiple roof faces and/or shading issues. Depending on your property layout we can quote a SolarEdge System.

Please send us a message, email, call or request a quote from our website :www.ceriumenergy.com.au and we will get in touch.

      Thanks,

  • Seems ok to me payback period will vary, for me it would be about 19 months so well under warranty periods offered. FYI I have a longi 6.6kw panel’s with a 5kw Fronius Inverter. YMMV!

  • I'm interested, I sent an email

  • Edit: Removed my comment, irrelevant

Question @matt : If a customer went ahead and then found out they are not eligible for gov rebate can they pull out without penalty?

      • Hi @bobzor,

Yes as there is no upfront cost there is no deposit required. The eligibility criteria is fairly straight forward and we will help determine if the customer is eligible before applying for the rebate.

We would discuss each customers individual circumstances at the quoting stage to ensure that they have a successful application.

If you need any further information please feel free to get in touch with us directly.

        Kind Regards,

        Matt

The deal only makes sense if you eligible for the rebate. Sadly the VicGov aren't committed to the initiative or cause, why would you income test an opportunity for your State to improve its sustainability. If you're a modest teacher, police or paramedic, you're not eligible. After potentially saving for a deposit for 5 years, if your household income exceeds $180K, no rebate for you.

Eligibility Criteria #2 "the owners have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year (based on last year’s Australian Tax Office Notice of Assessment)"

      • Hi Dave,

Agree with you, other states don't have this rebate and solar is flourishing in those states as well. The rebate is an added bonus for Victorian Residents as our government is on a push for renewables to a certain extent!

Re the criteria for the Income Threshold, Solar Vic currently (till 30 June 2021) allows for customers to use either 1 or 2 of the last Notice of Assessments from the ATO. So for this Financial years Rebates (prior to 30 June 2021) you can use either FY June 2019 or FY June 2020 if either of those fit the $180k threshold.

Further to this the application is completed on the name/s of the people listed on the Council Rates Notice as the owners. Depending on if both home owners are listed or not on the rates notice some customers may fall below the threshold.

Happy to provide further clarification if needed please feel free to et in touch with us directly and happy to provide a quote. Please reach out via email, message or a call :)

        Cheers,

        “Aren’t committed to cause”

have an entire department dedicated to handing out money for these things

        Hmmmm.

    • +1

Can you please remove all rebates and put the actual purchase price, I find this kind of sales tactic misleading. Many of us are ineligible for a rebate.

      • +1

Sure, will update the listing for non eligible customers as well to make it more clear. We try out best to be very transparent and open with our customers to ensure they have all the relevant information.

        Cheers,

    • Hi Matt
can you match pristine solar and other solar panel sellers that do not charge extra for tiles roof and two storey house?

      • Hi Lindol,

We do not charge extra for tile roofs, our price includes installation on Single Story, Tin/Tile Roof in Metro Melbourne.

The double story charge is something that most if not all retailers charge, have checked the one you mentioned on Ozb and they also have variations for Double story.

Our current Lockdown offer is an excellent offer which even with the added double story charge would in most cases come out better than many other retailers.

Always happy to look at competitor quotes on a case by case basis and advise accordingly.

If you have other quotes you want us to look at please feel free to email them to: [email protected] and we would be happy to see what we can do.

    • Anyone in the know, can tell me if this is decent or not? (Brand, power, etc?)

      • +2

Ditto, I am keen to get a system installed however not sure if the proposed system and installer is good or is it worthwhile spending a bit more on a better system?

      • Goodwe is one of the cheapest inverters, less than half the price of Fronius/SMA.

Seraphim are one of the cheapest solar panels, about 30-50% less than a good brand.

In saying that, alot of it comes down to the installer and quite a few a pretty shit.

Solar is in a race to the bottom and the quality of the gear and installs reflects that. It should last 25 years, you'd be lucky to get 5 out of most systems. On top of all that a lot of these companies are run like a phoenix company so good luck with warranties.

This is my general take on the industry and I know nothing about the company on this deal.
