[Afterpay] Apple M1 24-Inch iMac Retina 4.5k Display 256GB 7-Core GPU $1614, 8-Core GPU $1899 Delivered @ Wireless1 eBay

AFTPY15

Lowest prices I have seen for these M1 iMac's to date.
15% is the biggest discount I have seen on a new release Apple range, usually they get excluded from storewide promo codes.
Even less with discount eBay GCs (e.g. Swap GCs from the Shopback app store). Yes they work, I have tried on another item today, as long as you leave a couple of hundreds left for Afterpay.
Similar quality 4K monitors alone are at least $1K! So for $600-700 extra over an M1 mini, you'd get the retina screen, magic keyboard and magic mouse, I'd say it is a better buy than the mini!

24in 4.5K Retina display
Apple M1 chip - 8-core CPU and 7-core or 8‑core GPU
8GB RAM
256GB SSD
1080p FaceTime HD camera with M1 ISP
1 Year Warranty

      the chin is ugly..
they should have made it slight thicker.. and no one would really care or notice

You might want to update your title to reflect it's a GPU difference between the two, not CPU, as you can see in the specs you copy-pasted.

      Thanks. Fixed.

Apple still insist on having 8gb ram as default.

I can work with smaller SSD but the RAM is the deal breaker.

IMO the more important difference between the $1,899 RRP model and $2,199+ RRP models is the ports. Cheapest has only 2 USB-C Thunderbolt/USB4 ports. That's it, nothing else.

The step up adds the extra GPU core but also a gigabit ethernet port (on the AC/DC brick for some reason), a headphone jack (on the side which wouldn't look good if you used it but still), and a couple of extra USB-C/USB3 ports.

Great point but small correction, base model does have the headphone jack

      • Oh cool, I thought it did but I dutifully checked the Wireless 1 listing which does not mention it so I assumed I'd been wrong.

They also throw in the fingerprint reader on the KB for the better model.

Honestly the ethernet on the wall plug is a great idea, wish they did that for laptops.

      • Agree, since the thunderbolt does both PD and data. Keep the desk tidy with one less cable.

        • Could we upgrade keyboard with Finger print at a later stage?

          • @berger: I believe you can just buy that keyboard.

          • @berger: Apple keyboards are very expensive. I'd guesstimate the Touch ID one will be $200+, much better to buy it now and get the other perks.

            • @Merlict: Once you go to $2k+ you can’t Afterpay.

I bought the $1899 model, I figure I could sell it for much the same price if I change my mind. Now I have a month wait :(

@berger: You can if you pay the portion above 2000 with eBay gift cards. Best to buy Swap GCs with 4% cash back. I believe you can still cancel because they have not yet shipped, and repurchase, but then you don’t know how long it take for them to refund to Afterpay…
Either way I think this is a much better bargain than the mini Mac. For $600-700 extra over an M1 mini, you'd get the retina screen which I think is worth over $1k if you buy similar aftermarket monitor, magic keyboard and Magic Mouse which are $300 worth.

@Buy2Much: It’s a good deal. I have a MacBook Pro and this desktop will allow me to do more for work and home. Some new features in the new OS got me over this line with this.

The screen size is handy, although bigger would be nice but I image the price of a bigger screen when released will blow my budget.

I will upgrade keyboard at a later date. Sell the one that came with it for a few $$ so the changeover won’t be too bad.

I’m happy, second time I’ve used Afterpay, purely for the extra deal discounts.

    • I watched a YouTube saying the base model has different cooling system that effect the performance of CPU and GPU in real world. ( Not benchmark)

  • You would have to be nuts not to buy the custom version with 16GB RAM.
This is how Apple with get people to replace these in a few years, certainly not because the CPU single thread performance is too slow!

  • Arrived today, expected mid July so pretty happy.

Now to find a use for it

    • Great stuff.
