In Kmart Hornsby yesterday approximately 2/3 of the fishing tackle range was reduced or on clearance.
It looks like they may be discontinuing stocking fishing gear altogether which would be a real pity as they and Big W are one of the few places you can go and pay cheap prices for basic fishing gear. The everyday prices of smilar gear at places like BCF aren't nearly as cheap IMHO.
The number of rods and rod/reel combos on display was also about 1/4 of the usual number, and most were marked as on clearance (although not particularly reduced).
There are bargains to be had on hooks, sinkers and terminal tackle. Also on more obscure stuff like prawn lights.
I got a Force 10 prawn light ($20) and 100 chemically sharpened #6 hooks ($5 instead of $11).
If they are getting out of fishing gear completely expect big reductions in the next few weeks….
I do not know if this is a store specific change affecting just Hornsby store or if it affects all stores in NSW and/or Australia???
They are just clearing the current range and bringing new products, went to couple of Kmarts to get some cheap hooks.
