How to Find Chinese Furniture Suppliers during COVID?

Hi All

My business partner and I are thinking about importing some furniture and are struggling to find decent suppliers without the ability to travel overseas anymore. In the past we have attended fairs and things like that but a long time ago.

Does anyone know how people get/share these details now without the Trade Fairs?

    china bad

    • At borderline… bad?

  • Alibaba?

There's many articles about business people bypassing traveler limits. Just put down that you're doing business meetings and Australian gumit will let you leave/come back in easily. Downside is that you may need to do first/business class airfares.

    • And the quarantine.

      • ?

Did Morrison and his posse have to quarantine when they came back from the G7 terrorist meeting the other week? Just tell them you;re a politician and you should have no problems.

          Yes he did.

@Hardlyworkin: In a government approved quarantine location at his own expense or was able to lark around at home with his family?

NVM, looks like Morrison and 10 of his mates got to 'quarantine' at home while the the servants got stuck in a tiny room at the ANU campus.

Clever little virus that one, apart from all of it's other cunning abilities like knowing where borders are and what time of day it is apparently it can now tell the difference between the Hoi Poloi and plebs!

            • @EightImmortals: In the case of the PM, it actually makes sense. The security and entourage the PM has with them makes sticking him in a hotel room a much greater risk than having him at home. If the PM is in the country they're the PM, they need to carry out day to day duties. The lodge is a secure building too, they can completely control who comes in and goes out.

Curious who the other 9 are though, presumably someone with a lot of $$$.

              • @freefall101: Presumably. But if we can do without him at other times (funny how most of us seem to get through the day without politicians telling what to do and how we MUST do it?) then we can do without him while he's in quarantine, and there's nothing he can't ZOOM in to do from home that he couldn't do from the same quarantine facilities as everyone else. And it's not like the other govcorp VIP's were practising the mask-wearing and social distancing regimes they are forcing all their subject to do?

There's even some free global warming thrown in from their private Jet display to. :)

Oh well, hunger games and all that.

              • @freefall101: You're implying that quarantine hotels are not already controlling who goes in or out.

No wonder we have outbreaks due to shitty security and politicians doing it at home only proves that it is security theatre.

                • @orangetrain: Actually I was just trying to point out the double-standards between the muckity-muck and the oppression they are currently applying to everyone else. :)

Rules for them and different rules for us, it's been that way since the whole '2 weeks to flatten the curve' garbage started last year.
