Was riding to work early morning and some driver decided to do a U turn and knocked me off my bike. Woke up in hospital and had try to contact the police to get other party details but they would not give out other party details but an incident report number.
What can I do to get other party details?

It's been a week since this was posted so thought I might make a closing post to my own topic. For anyone who is reading this and from the advice that I have received there are 2 ways that you can get the info of the other party if for some reason you weren't able to do so at the scene and the police attended the incident:
1. Visit your local police station and use the right combination of attitude, asking for a senior officer and filling out the correct form
2. Request the info through https://www.police.vic.gov.au/traffic-accident-reports (always try the first method first as this method have it down side)
Have you obtained the details yet? Which way?
I was able to get it through the first method with the help of an Ozb'er
Good to hear you got it sorted. Have you made contact with the other party as yet? Have they been co-operative?
Since I wasn't able to get their number for direct contact I'm in the process to get the bike evaluate, calculate the costs to send the letter of demand and hope for the best
