      Is it really a wonder?

The difference is that YouFoodz had a partner of the actual founder behaving like this.
If Jeff Bezos or his wife made a video mocking asians saying "OH YEAH SHA SHING OH YEAH SHA SHING… (profanity) ORIGAMI MATE" I would expect an outrage.
Quite a pathetic apology - not even coming the wife herself (The founder of YouFoodz made the apology on her behalf, perhaps because he thought it was more appropriate. But seriously…)

I think a more relevant question is, should a company be downvoted or boycotted because of one 'important' person's behaviour?

      • So almost 2 years ago they did a version of a south park skit and then apologised? Seems a lot of vitriol for a nothingburger.

        • +3

BeautKilla I think you’re missing the point.

      • You care about what someone that isn’t relevant in the company says over what a company is actually doing? Implementing systematic discrimination that actually impacts people’s lives?

I dunno, I feel like you can’t see the forest from the tree. The bigger picture surely has bigger impact.

        • +3

Cloudy that doesn’t even make sense. With that logic, any company founder can behave badly as long as the service they provide has nothing to do with their behaviour.

          Like this guy right?
          https://www.forbes.com/sites/isabeltogoh/2020/07/12/tech-ceo…

There’s always going to be that ‘bigger picture’. A more relevant question would be, at what point should a company be held accountable for what their founder or their partner does….

          • @Fliedlice:

A more relevant question would be, at what point should a company be held accountable for what their founder or their partner does….

Like when CrossFit booted the founder for similar behaviour??

  • I honestly feel like with these your best bet is the order meals that you could add some extra rice or pasta to bulk them out a biit.

  • btw apart from then being racist the nutrition is not great.

Thanks op. What’s with the triggered individuals in the chat?

CEO is a Queenslander, how are people shocked exactly?

    • You can't be serious, Victoria has such a problem with racism that they created an anti racism taskforce alongside more than $3.8 million in new funding for 42 community anti-racism initiatives.

"That is the job of taskforce, to explore the best ways that the government can tackle things like Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, racism, and vilification - the things that we know far too many Victorians continue to experience."

      https://www.sbs.com.au/news/a-new-anti-racism-taskforce-is-b…

I'm a Victorian currently living in QLD.

      • I'm pretty sure the general consensus is that qldrs are more racist than other states, doesn't mean the generalisation is right though, it is what it is.

The creation of a task force merely recognises the problem. The fact the task force didn't exist previously doesn't mean that the problem didn't exist, same goes for if another state doesn't have said task force, doesn't mean things are fine. That's a fallacy in logic.

      Isn't this statement racist?
Pot kettle black and so on.

      • I don't think you understand the definition of racist. No offence though.

        • +1

Modern science regards race as a social construct, an identity which is assigned based on rules made by society. While partially based on physical similarities within groups, race does not have an inherent physical or biological meaning.

So "Queenslander" can qualify as a different "race" to someone who chooses to judge them as being all the same.

Managed to order 9 large meals for $59 without requiring a recurring order. Thanks OP.

    • Same, not sure how that happened lol

  • I dont trust youfoodz.

  • I am confused. If I put in fortnightly does that mean I will only be charged $49 for the next 3 deliveries (4 incl this one) or do I just cancel this one straight away?

    • Just cancel after its delivered to be safe.

      • But am I able to have the next delivery priced at $49 too? If so I’d like to retain it

        • +2

Yes you will get an email saying your next delivery will be $49.

      • First time I'm ordering
        A bit confused
Can't tell if I'm on a recurring service or not
        How do you check?
        I'm assuming I'm getting 9x meals for $49
And not a weekly subscription for $49 per week

Also, my next avail date was 8 days away, which doesn't bother me

        • +1

If the total says $49 and it's not asking for a weekly / monthly frequency etc, you're good to go. Happened to me last night. Once you place the order, it will be under "Orders" and not "Recurring orders"

          • @Rod71: Cool thanks.
I thoguht I would check like that too, but it looks like placing the order didn't create an account for me

  • +1

Dodgy company. Don't trust them after my last order, which included a bonus $50 gift voucher which was invalid.

  • +2

Ironically the people who dislike the company should be buying the food because they are bleeding cashflow like nobody's business according to their last market update. They seem to discount way too hard to make money and their share price shows the lack of confidence.

    • Yeah they definitely ain’t making money at these prices

  • +1

    trash food. stay away

  • -1

    price gone up to 65?

  • -1

Ordered 9 for 59 last night lolz

For this price a dead-set steal. Fresh always tastes nicer than frozen. Some are packed with too much sauce or peas but I enjoy them as an easy lunch option for work.

For instance, tried THRIVE last week, they are double the price, smaller in size, and about as nice.

  • Shocking food quality. Shocking.

    • if you know any $5.50 food (carb meat veg) that as convenient as this, please share

  • ordered. 8 normal and accidentally picked 1 large pokebowl but after code, end up with exactly $50. why not. done.

weird i cant find an option on web/app to remove CC probably they dont store it? now afraid next month they will charge again even after i cancel..

from order history i bought 9 for $$39.63 on 2018. maybe new customer offer

Got my first delivery this morning, entirely edible and not terribly unhealthy food great work OP really appreciated !

  • Anyone know if that 15% off multi gift card available last week with this company in it at Woolies works with this ?

  • Will this deal qualify for the $5 Bonus Cashback on $30 Spend?

Funny how people complain about racism except when its against white people..then its just a joke / sarcasm. Btw I am Asian and was born in asia. But i hate how its only racist one way and not the other. Having lived in quite a few countries including a few in Asia before moving to australia, Australians and white people are the least racist race these days. Society in these countries have come a long way as has the culture and some religions. Where racism is frowned upon as opposed to some of the countries I lived in before coming here where racism was rife and completely accepted as the norm. From my experience, by far the most racism i ever encountered or witnessed was in Asia, definitely also some in Eastern Europe and some in Africa.

    • This place is full of Cotton Ball Club Member's who live with their Mums .
Not that its bad with how much is saved doing that :)

    • Thanks for letting us know your qualifications being Asian from Asia.

      • -1

Well you can be Asian and from another country / born in another country. Oh wait you are one of the people I presume…who believe you are what you look like regardless of where you were born or grew up in or identify as …

        • I don't assume anything. Same like I dont assume racism is only "one way" based on my personal experience. BTW I'm Asian hope this means something.

3 certainties in life: tax, death and neg votes on a youfoodz deal

As an asian myself, i couldn't care less how racist they were. I vote on the deal, not their ethics.

    • Is it because racism in Asia is rife?

      • +1

        in Australia too…

Thanks OP. Ordered 9 of the larger ones for $58. Cheers

  • spend your money else where

Hello Fresh to buy out Youfoodz.

Happy that I bought YFZ at their low point. Cha Ching!

    • +1

LoL. Oh no, what will the negative nancys do now?

      • They won't complain as Hello Fresh will be the new owner I guess.

    • Damn. I wonder what the strategy will be. I assume Youfoodz products won't be getting any cheaper in the future.

  • -1

ok almost gone through my 9 boxes
they are SMALL! just couple slices of beef.. duh.

far out definitely they are making too much profit
also doggy company, we cant cancel by our-self from website, no button to remove cc details.

i say rating is 4 out of 10

    • You absolutely can cancel from the website yourself. I've done it multiple times.

The meals are small because they're portion controlled and healthy. Get the bigger sized meals if you want more.

      scroll down, click cancel order

      • somehow, mine is under order not recurring tab. (therefore there was no cancel button only reorder)
even though i done it as recurring, and the staff told me via chat it is recurring.
        weird eh

      • Heh I tried to change the delivery date of my recurring delivery and when I try to save it, nothing happens.

  • +1

Good to see the mod’s taking zero control over the misuse of the neg vote.

  • Reminder to review/change/cancel the reoccurring order if you haven't yet. Personally I'm going to get 2 more orders at the cheap price before I cancel.

  • Reminder to cancel your reoccurring order because I have already seen my next one back to full price.

    • Is that the 3rd one? My 2nd one has come up as $49.

      • Next order, would be my 5th. Canceled.

  • Reminder to cancel your recurring order after the fourth delivery because I have already seen my next one back to full price.
