Upgrading Current PC to a More Faster System - Budget $800

So I recently bought a 3060ti and was wondering what CPU I should pair it with? I'm basically upgrading my whole system pretty much. I want to get peoples suggestions and opinion on what I should purchase as well as good prices for each component.

My current specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g
RAM: T-Force Vulcan 16GB 3000Mhz
Motherboard: Asus TUF B450-PLUS Gaming
GPU: (soon) 3060ti
PSU: Corsair VS550 80+
Storage: WD Green 240GB SATA M.2 & 2TB HDD
Case: Corsair Carbide 100R with 5 fans

    Budget?

I’d personally just go with 5600x or 11600k for gaming with a decent board. The RAM is fine for gaming and perhaps upgrade to a 1-2Tb SSD / NVMe drive for a snappier system overall.

Probably looking at $750 or so for those three components.

    5600x/b550 combo here for $600

      Budget?

      No…

OP clearly wants a "More Powerful System"

    for Gaming and Productivity

The two don't usually go together…

    • Lets say gaming

    • What if you're a game developer?

        I did say 'usually'…

Just like you and common sense looking at your post history

5600x + bigger M2 with the 3060 and keep the rest.

  • Grab a 5600X and call it a day - you're sorted.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/645395 - 5900x for $721, then pick up mobo for $200 (or less if you get a deal), a tad over budget but could be a good option

5600x and faster ram, so many people neglect ram leading to poor performance.

    • the difference between 3000 ram and 3600 is negligible, maybe 1-5% performance

  • Current motherboard will run up to a 5950x with a BIOS upgrade. So just grab the best CPU you can afford
