Use 5 minutes, charge 5 hours?

      • then you got the faulty battery.

      • then don't buy fake battery from ebay or wish

      Its a brilliant saw
Can take it away for a weekend+ and cut all the wood a i need and still have battery left
      plenty of power

Maybe a bit light if your cutting wood for heating your house for a season etc

It cut through trees with 20 to 25 cm in diameter pretty easily.

I usually get exhausted before the battery, thus unable to comment battery life.

I did run into bar oil leaking issue; Unsure if all chainsaws are like that or just my unit.

Bought one of these last year for the same price at Bunnings. Good for small jobs and the battery lasts surprisingly well.

Agree… My only complaint would be the chain speed is quite slow so it's not that good on real small stuff…

Edit: also, it doesn't like undercutting,

      • True if your battery is at about 20% remaining power left, it would slow the speed down.

        • Even on a full battery the chain speed is pretty damn slow compared to higher voltage and petrol saws…

Off the top of my head this little Dewalt has a chain speed around 7.5m/s, a 54v Dewalt is about 15m/s, and petrol saws are around 20-25m/s…

With the low chain speed if you're cutting stuff under about 1", either pruning branches or cutting small branches for kindling, it tends to grab and shake the branch rather than cutting smoothly like a faster chain speed does…. If you're cutting at the base of the branch it's not really an issue but if the branch has the ability to whip around it will..

It's a great little saw but it has it's limitations, horses for courses…

So to be honest I like my Black and Decker 20v better. Lighter, cuts almost as well and you can get it for $130 from Kogan sometimes. Just wish we could get the black and decker 40v here. Twice the cutting speed and an auto oil feeder.

Black and Decker doesn't have auto oil feeder but also doesn't consume stood amounts of oil.

I should have bought the 60v when it was less than $300 from blackwoods.

  • Perfect for my halloween costume

  • 4ah battery ain't gonna cut it

I wouldn’t recommend cutting the battery either

isn't this for cutting chains not batteries?

Got one of these last year. Great for camping and cutting up small firewood. Battery lasts longer than you think.

I’m removing 30 year old bamboo roots at the moment. The 12v reciprocating saw can’t do it…too thick and hard timber with knurled and twisted roots to deal with. Would this chainsaw have a hope?

    • Chainsaw chain hate soil, tie a rope around it and pull it out with a vehicle

    • Are you using the right blad (pruning or demolish wood blade)? Use 18V or 54V, not 12V reciprocating saw.

    • chajnsaw will be blunt in no time I would suggest a Mattock and some/lots of Voltaren :) or a stump grinder
Note the last time I did it with a mattock I was about 16, I'm now 60 and still remember it was hard work

  • So a bricks and mortar store but it still needs to be posted out?

    • You clearly don't live in VIC do you because in I know Dan says we can't drive there

      • NSW you can't either unless within 5km for outside LGA or within LGA and for a essential reason only. Otherwise delivery is the only option.
