    • Are you in 'My Orders' in your Samsung Account?

Mine takes ages to load, says 'You do not have any items in your Orders' but then if I scroll down past that I can see my order with status 'Waiting for Approval', fingers crossed!

                    • @gaz3342: no confirmation email (however order details in Samsung account show order as dispatched)
no tracking link but can see it in my auspost account (linked to my email/mobile number) as "It's being prepared" so assuming just waiting on Startrack to pick up parcel, hopefully sometime today

              enjoy the phone buddy :)

          • @MikeMelbourneAUS: Great to hear! Startrack let me down today, didnt delivere. Hopefully tomorrow.
I didnt received any email neither, nor confirmation or sending back old phone email.
Do we only need to pay the tradeup amount without admin fee if we keep the phone?

            • @becool: That information is currently unknown. Some people have said you have to pay the full amount of the discount you received (which for me would be $905!) others have said it's just the trade in amount offered for your phone + $60.

            • @becool: Im not sure either about situation in regards not sending phone but would think its the trade in amount and maybe admin fee. Dont think they will take bonus amounts away.

              • @MikeMelbourneAUS: I tradeup my s9 worth only $30. Honestly I'd rather pay that amount to keep the phone for spare than sending it back to Samsung and it endup going straight to recycle bin.

                • @becool: Yeh just wait for email from Asurion and tell them you have changed your mind and won't be sending them your old phone and see what they say….

                • @becool: just got Samsung order email confirmation and email from Asurion about sending my old phone to them…

                  • @MikeMelbourneAUS: Same. And nothing in the Ts & Cs about how much you get charged if you don't send back….

                    • @gaz3342: Thanks for your query, if you wish to not return your old device you will be charged the full trade-in credit you received at checkout when purchasing your new device. After this it will no longer be a requirement to return your old device to us. You will be charged a $60 administration fee on top of the full trade-in credit for not returning the device. We hope that this information has been helpful.

                  • @MikeMelbourneAUS: Got mine too. T&C said you will get charge Non-Return Fee if you do not return your device. Does anyone know how much is this fee? If its small I may just keep my old phone for spare.

                    • @becool: $60
just waiting to hear back if full trade-in credit is just the amount of trade in without bonus amounts

                      • @MikeMelbourneAUS: Thanks, where you get this info from? Is it on Samsung website?

                        • @becool: i emailed them
                          this was there response

Thanks for your query, if you wish to not return your old device you will be charged the full trade-in credit you received at checkout when purchasing your new device. After this it will no longer be a requirement to return your old device to us. You will be charged a $60 administration fee on top of the full trade-in credit for not returning the device. We hope that this information has been helpful.

                          • @MikeMelbourneAUS: Ah thanks save me an email. I'm sure trade-in credit is just your old phone tradein value but please confirm when you do get reply from them.

                            • +1

                              @becool: will do

                            • @becool: just got reply from Asurion confirming its trade-in amount. mine was $110 plus $60 admin fee will be taken out of bank account after 14 days if you do nothing and not send device back

                              • @MikeMelbourneAUS: Thanks for doing this Mike! A lot on here have been wondering the same.

Won't be sending my S10+ back, pretty sure I'll get more for it on FB Marketplace than the $105 + $60 I'll be charged.

                                • @gaz3342: all good
                                  ending up costing $860 for S21 Ultra 5G 128gb
Seems like a pretty good deal :)

                                  • @MikeMelbourneAUS: That's bloody awesome deal for S21 Ultra. I was tight and went for S21. Small size fit me well

                              • +1

@MikeMelbourneAUS: Great thanks. That makes sense :) will Keep mine too for spare

                                • @becool: Just reading through t&c and I dont think they can charge $60 administration fee…

fail to return Your Existing Device to Us within seven days after the date on which You
receive Your New Samsung Device, You may be charged a Device Non-Return Fee in
accordance with clause 6.2(a) below; or

Device Non-Return Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the discount You received when
Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device
Online in accordance with clause 5.2 of these Terms and Conditions.

Maybe there trained to say that to scare people into returning it. If they charge me the $60 I will challenge it.

                                  • @MikeMelbourneAUS: I've found on google updated t&c
                                    same as listed on https://www.samsung.com/au/tradeup/

a Device Non-Return Fee and a Device Non-Return Administration Fee if You do not
return Your Existing Device to Us within seven days after the date on which You receive
                                    Your New Samsung Device.

Device Non-Return Administration Fee means a $60 administration fee which will be charged by
Asurion in addition to the Device Non-Return Fee.

But silly link of t&c conditions provided to me in there email was outdated so maybe that's there problem for not updating t&c in email link??
                                    Opinions guys?

So much mucking around… I would say wait for telstra day for 50% off s21 ultra.

  • +2

ouch.. I managed to add S21U with the $1000 discount earlier until payment page, but paused a while since i just bought a S21 base model last week (i prefer the ultra but too expensive last week). When I decide to put my credit card details, screen refreshed and the $200 and $300 bonuses are now gone.

no room for indecisive in OzBargain lol

  • Did they tighten up the trade in? S8+ with screen burn and cracked screen doesn't qualify anymore

  • Off topic except spen integration, any big difference between the S21 vs S21 ultra for light users? Thanks

    • Not that i know of, partner has ultra and I use s21. Except bigger battery abd good camera there's not much of difference i noted.

And for light users like myself and you i don't think ultra is going to make any difference. As a light user I was still happy with my s8 but due to ceased security updates and recent lucrative prices on s21 range made me do a switch.

      • I'm a keen photographer so yes s21 ultra does entice me to get it for the camera. However, i doubt it can replace my small ish apsc camera tho.

        • Sorry jumped the gun, assumed camera won't matter you much as a light user.

Although, my partner is really happy with her ultra camera. She loves photography too and when she's not in a mood carrying her other prof camera, she says camera on ultra is equally good and handy. She says she anyway have to carry a phone and if it comes with a pro camera then why not.

          • @Zapwap: Thanks for the info. And the ultra definitely has better cam than the reg S21 yea? Thanks

            • @Bargain-er: As far as I know, most people if not all bought ultra over reg s21 was because of the insanely high res photography. If you read reviews you'll find reviewers will talk more about how camera on ultra outperform any other phone camera.

So i guess yes, to answer your question, from my partner's personal exp, evident reviews, and comparison videos onine suggests that ultra surely has a better camera than reg s21/s21 plus.

  • +10

Alright one day that I don't check OzB one of the first things during the day, this happens!! Nice!

  • Yeah i only get like 770 trade for a s20 plus :(

  • whats with error message "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    • Try in a different browser

  • Wow OP is super lucky

  • Can you yugioh this deal to get a cheap Samsung fold/flip 3 by trading in a S10 for s21 then trade that in for the fold/flip?

  • Seems like I am getting it!
Anyone know of any good glass screen protectors that will work with the ultrasound fingerprint scanner?

    • I think it depends on which model you are buying. If you are buying the S21 or S21+, they use a flat glass screen, so most will work fine. I will normally look for one which is 'case friendly', so the glass isn't all the way to the edge and lifts up when applying a case.

If you are buying a S21 Ultra, it still has a curved screen. I have used many glass screen protectors on curved screen, but have never found one that is good. Most curved screen protectors only have adhesive on the edge and a centre dot adhesive where the sensor is. But it doesn't work well. I will just use a hydrogel screen protector. It doesn't protect as well as the glass, but it easier to use with the S-Pen and finger.

  • Has anyone been charged non return fee lately? Any news on whether the bonus was touched ?

    • Thanks for your query, if you wish to not return your old device you will be charged the full trade-in credit you received at checkout when purchasing your new device. After this it will no longer be a requirement to return your old device to us. You will be charged a $60 administration fee on top of the full trade-in credit for not returning the device. We hope that this information has been helpful.

      • I assume there is no mention of Bonus 🙂

      • I just said I have a bunch of Samsung devices (watch, tablet, etc - which I actually do have haha) and asked if they had any discount for repeat customers. She was happy to provide $100 off.

        • Awesome, cheers!

  • Just got an email saying that I'll be charged $65 because the phone j sent didn't meet the requirements. It didn't but sounds like that doesn't avoid the charge. Unsure if I'll get the phone back like I had hoped…
