I remember first being introduced to FM15. The amount of hours I played. I usually skip a year but for $9 why not.

I’m still going on my FM2010 save

      • I was a lot more into in FM15 and F18. I brought FM20, I'm like 150 hours in but I've kinda lost interest. I might pick it up again or just start with 21 or wait for 22

Wasted too many hours of my life on this. Fun, yes, but so hard to break the addiction!

      • I think I spent to close to 800ish hours on FM15. I split my saves between Portugal to learn FM for the first time and then once I understood everything I went to MLS (big mistake lol) and somehow got an offer in 3rd tier English league.

$4.98 at EB if you're lucky enough to find stock https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/pc/268048-football-manage…

Maybe price match at JB ?

Edit: grabbed the JB copy,l even though I'll probably never play it, ain't played football manager for years, nearest EB with stock in WA is 15hr drive north LOL.

  • Thanks I just bought it. Delivery is only $2 so..

    • Was it 2-3 weeks delivery for you?

      • I dunno but it was shipped about 30mins after I made my payment.

Have they toned things down in this version? Some of the more recent editions felt like having a second job!
For fans of the old school versions there's a massive Championship Manager 01/02 community and updated databases here. I've become dangerously addicted to it again!

    • You can delegate as much or as little as you want - personally for me I don't like the training and press conference aspects of the game so you can delegate those jobs to a member of your staff.

stupid question, I dont have a dvd player on my laptop, is it still possible to install it?

    • I'm with you, I have a desktop and I haven't used a cd or disc in like 5 years…

      • +3

I called jb hifi, they said no physical DVD, it is a key for you to redeem, all good :)

        • Why do they need to charge delivery then? Or worry about click and collect?

          Edit:
Ah, if Gustave, below, is right, that answers my Q.

        • I just picked up, you got the dvd + steam activation code

    • I also want to know the answer to this. I haven't had an optical drive on my desktops or laptops in the last 6+ years, but I am keen on picking this up for $9.

    • Absolutely. There's a Steam activation code as well as the disc.

    • Thanks saved me asking

  • Surprised they still sell physical copies - for those who haven't played in a few years this is probably worth getting as it adds a ton of new mechanics not to mention a very improved match engine.

That being said, FM22 is coming out in a month or so.

My favourite game back in high school/uni days and downloading it illegally on torrent :)

FYI - this is discounted because Football Manager 2022 is being released at the start of November.

Also, there are a few versions of the game - full, touch and mobile.

Mobile is a dumbed down version for mobile devices, whilst touch is almost like the full game just stripped back so it isn't as intense. I like touch the most because it is very similar to the traditional versions of the game for those who remember it from 10+ years ago.

    • I agreed that touch seems like the best compromise for a filthy casual like myself but ive struggled to find anywhere that sells it anymore - let along at $9. Any ideas?

  • Denuvo DRM…

    • Yarr matey

Don’t do it. If you want to have a real life, that is. It’s a 8-hour per day commitment, minimum. I'm 12 years clean - except for one Saturday last year. Did the CM01/02 freebie. Still ridiculously good.

Hahaha, I think this is what every player ("manager") feels when playing this game… It's seriously an addiction!!! So much so that I forgot that my real job isn't actually a football manager…

      • +1

The problem is that it actually becomes your real job; the other thing you do M-F 9-5 is just something you do for money.

I'm still occasionally playing FM 2005. Started the career mode that year and been playing that saved game file since then, it's a year 2100-ish in-game.

  • guys is this redeemable on Steam?

    • yes

I got a copy of this on Steam a few years ago - must have been cheap at the time. I don't think I got as far as starting the season proper; it was so full-on compared with the game I loved in the 00s. I just don't have time for the full version these days.

  • What a bargain go get it
