STARTUP1000P453

UPDATE 2: Credits removed from accounts.

It appears they will bill you the amounts before the subscription renews, if you don’t have a workspace balance. You can check this by going to the billing section and at the top, select View upcoming invoice. Be sure to downgrade to the Free plan or delete your account otherwise your card may be charged.

If you wish to delete your account:

  1. Log into your account on desktop web browser
  2. Go to Settings & Members (on left side panel)
  3. Go to My Account
  4. Scroll down and click Delete my account
  5. Type your email address to confirm

UPDATE: Coupon - STARTUP1000P666 expired. Replaced with working coupon - STARTUP1000P453.

  • Yeah pretty lame, I'm back down to $217, was originally $1700+

    • I am down to 0 was $100+ as well

  • +5

Great, so I wasted my primary email address, signed up and now have $0 credits.

Back to Microsoft OneNote / Trello it is then.

I deleted my Notion account entirely. Maybe in the future I can use my email address again to signup with a bonus code.

    • I did not used the $250 code so I have a balance due of $48 even though I cancelled my pro version.

    • Are you new here? This was always a gamble by the OZB population given Notion would have seen that they are now magically giving out hundreds of thousands of $ credit overnight and were likely to rescind most/all of it.

    • Always do the +1 trick ad gift card for these promotions.

      • What's the +1 trick ad gift card?

  • +4

Like everyone else, got the Kate email. Not sure whether they cancelled the full $1,750 worth of credit ir not (as you can't check your billing from a phone - bad design).

They could have easily turned this whole exchange into a positive by giving 12 months free to anyone who was going to have credit cancelled.

If I love Notion, and in a year it becomes indispensable to my workflows, then paying for renewal will be an easy decision.

    • +3

Too true. It seems like a shortsighted decision given it would cost them at best a few dollars in hosting fees.

    • They wouldn't. I received an invoice from them for $48, and has contacted my bank to decline this.

  • +3

Lol what a waste of time. Gave my details and credit card.

  • This will be beneifical for some. I just sussed through the settings page. If you are a student or an educator, you will be able to subscribe to the personal pro plan for free. You just need to provide your education email and it will work.

  • Can someone explain to me what workspace balance is

I'm sure 7 News will do a great story on your entitlement.

    • I see the Yank mindset is well and truly thriving in Australia.

    • +1

      lol. entitlement on display

    • I'm bummed about the news, but you wanting to sue them speaks volumes. You should drop ACA a call, I'm sure Tracy would get right on the case.

  • +1

And this is exactly why I signed up with a prepaid MasterCard lol.

Still weirdly got $250 credit which seeing as I signed up for yearly plan have 4.5 years worth of free pro left. By the end of that I'll either have forgotten about this entirely or have no problem paying for renewal.

  • How do we cancel this/stop them billing us next year?

    • Downgrade it to a free plan….

      • What a waste of time this was.

  • They removed my $30 sign up bonus from a few years ago as well…

    • +1

Sounds like great customer service to me. Did Kate from marketing give you the bad news?

  • +1

It seems that I keep my plan for a year (I chose yearly payment). Anyone can confirm that? Credit is now 0 but when I downgraded, it says that the Personal Pro plan will expire Oct 2022 and I haven't got any charge on my card (fingers crossed).

    • +1

Same here. Looks like it starts from next year.
      Invoice date October 2, 2022

      October 2, 2023 Notion Personal (at $48 per year) × 1 member $48.00

How do we remove our credit card details?

    • Unfortunately at this stage there doesn't appear to be a way to do so. Downgrade your plan manually to the free plan if you don't want to be charged at the next billing cycle.

Alternatively you could try one of those card generators online to see if that will pass but normally these days companies do pre-authorisation's which those types of cards fail.

As use of this code was only meant to be used as part of their Notion for Startups program, this "deal" should not have been posted as a code generally available for anyone to use.
