Hi everyone. A nice Uber Eats promo just in time for dinner tonight. Increase starts at 6pm AEDT for 5 hours only. There is no minimum spend requirement, and makes no difference if you're a new or return customer for this flash promo. You get US $10 (~AU $13.20) cashback as a standard Cashrewards member, or US $13 (~AU $17.30) as an ANZ Max member (provided you pay with your linked ANZ card).     I ordered and I've never done a pickup, I assumed Paypal was the default, but it went ahead and I pay in-store.

  • Frustrating. Can't use their website. Doesn't show past orders. Doesn't show account credit.

    • Yes it does. Click on the 3 little horizontal lines at top left of page (next the the Uber Eats logo). All the info you need is there.

      • Not for me it doesn't. My "Past orders" shows a heading and no past orders. And I have credit on my account but it is not a payment option at the checkout (works fine on mobile app).

          Certainly working for me. Have you tried incognito? Maybe you have some weird plugin blocking it? Or maybe you're logged into a different Uber Eats account (do you have more than one?).

          • @tightarse: Apologies. My wife inserts a dot into her Gmail address sometimes. Either works for email, and most systems just disregard it. Apparently Uber Eats acknowledges it, and therefore we have two accounts for what is in reality the same email address.

    This promo is just another reminder of why UberEats is terrible now. Ordered around 6:15pm, which had an estimated latest arrival time of 8pm, then they cancelled around 7:55pm due to not enough drivers. Called the store and they said I can come in and pay cash for my order that wasn't picked up, even though they cooked over an hour ago.

        I read somewhere previously that UE still pays when they cancel due to lack of drivers. If true, that would mean the store gets paid twice if I had gone in to pay in cash.

          Even then, they are probably just breaking even! I heard that UE charges an arm and a leg, plus a bit more!

  • Is there a way to check which ANZ card you have linked or add another for CR Max? I go through LOTS of cards/accounts and it is hard to remember.

  • Tried adding my ANZ debit card as a payment method on UE, and got this:
    "There was a problem processing your credit card. Try again in a moment."
    Lol fail.

      had something similar to this. I was able to add an ANZ card but the payment failed. Then I tried paying with an ING card I had already added, which failed too. Then I ended up paying with my Amex which went through finally.

    If i order a potato cake for $2 and pick up I'll get the full $10 USD right? My wife thinks i'll just get what i spend (like its 100% CB). I think she's wrong

      You get the full amount. I ordered a spinach roll, but paid the extra $2 service and delivery fee, can't be bothered to pick up. $6.50 total.

    Ordered a 50c sauce from pieface for pickup with cashrewards max. Now the waiting game begins. Hope the tracking works🤞.

    • there's this restaurant i found you can order 10c tip, and i was tempted to order that for pickup and see but decided i'll just get food like its supposed to be.

  • If I schedule a pickup, do I have to pay at the restaurant or does uber eats take care of that? Noticed when I scheduled a order it didn't ask me for my payment details

      a) If you have Uber Cash (e.g. money added from gift card) that covers the amount of the order, Uber Eats will charge you for the bill after order completes.
      b) If you have zero or don't have enough Uber Cash to cover the order and your method of payment on your account is Paypal, Uber Eats will charge your Paypal a temporary hold of the necessary amount when you place the order. This temporary hold will finalise after order completes.

  • Ahh thanks, it seems my wallet had a PayPal payment source so it deducted automatically from that. I would have expected during the check out it would ask me which payment to use. Oh wells

  • So I picked up my order no problems and enjoyed my sushi but then Uber Eats tells me there was trouble with my payment method.. I literally can't pay by PayPal (won't let me remove it either to try adding again) and it's not accepting my card.

    How this happened I have no idea, it worked to place but now not to pay. Weirdly I can still seem to at least go to checkout on new orders. I am so confused.

    Just another reason I use Doordash lol

  • So I pre-ordered my meal for today but as required, carried out the transaction with Uber Eats via CR on a desktop browser during the promo period last evening.

    However, Uber charged my card today after my meal was delivered and consumed. I hope I'm still getting the $13usd with CR ayeh OP?

      Yes, you will still be getting the cashback as it's stated in this deal's description:
      "Cashback is eligible on pre-orders, but only after the order is completed without cancellation."

      The part about Uber Eats charging after the order is complete is normal and nothing to worry about, see previous comment

    Uber Eats cashback is starting to report through right now. It appears non-Max members are receiving AUD $12.92, whilst Max members that paid with a linked ANZ card are receiving AUD $16.79. If you've not received tracking yet, please allow another 48 hours as I'm unsure how they handle pre-orders. Have a great weekend :)

        No concern at all. Please read the bottom of your tracking email (blue font). Some cards may not have been matched yet, so could take a little time. If after 15 days it still hasn't updated, just let me know and I'll sort it :)

        If this was a Max boosted offer and you paid with your linked ANZ card, your transaction will be upgraded to Max cashback once we receive a corresponding card charge within 15 days from purchase. No further action is required.

  • Hi @tightarse, I pre-ordered for Wednesday lunch within the 6pm to 11pm window on my desktop browser.

    My linked ANZ card is not charged yet as I think UberEATS only charges my card upon delivery.

    Will my cashback only track (or the 36-72 timer for my cashback to start tracking begins) when the delivery is made on Wednesday and my card get charged?

    • Hi. Not entirely sure how Uber Eats treats preorders as far as tracking goes - I can only assume from the terms they report after payment has been processed. The 36-72 hours I’ve stated is not a timer, but rather an estimate based on previous tracked orders (we have no visibility on the type of orders members make). All I can suggest is to wait until payment had been taken, then allow 48 hours or so from then. If there’s any issues, please contact us. Thanks.

    • Similar situation with my flatmate. On Thurs 28 Oct she per-ordered a dish from Uber Eats via desktop browser for Weds 3rd Nov and hasn't received tracking for it also.

      Uber Eats didn't charge for it yet as there was enough Uber Cash to cover it. So they won't take the money until Weds. Whether that gets tracked properly or not we will have to wait and see..

          • @tightarse: Tomorrow 12pm noon will be 72 hours since the pre-order payment was made, so if it unfortunately doesn't track by then, I'll have to lodge a claim… Which will be my first claim..
