[QLD] Heinz Little Treat Baby Custard Pouches 120g $0.50 (Was $1.50) @ Woolworths (Select Stores)

50

I know baby snacks can get expensive! Personally I don’t buy these ones but cheap if anyone else’s baby likes them. Three flavours available.
Vanilla 6months+

Mango Vanilla 8months+

Strawberry vanilla 8months+

Weirdly enough even though it’s custard it doesn’t have egg in it, but seems to be mostly milk based.

Something I didn’t know until recently is that these baby food and yogurt pouches can be recycled with the lid on in the RedCycle bin. https://redcycle.net.au/what-to-redcycle/

  • Im confused with whether they are on sale, it is on the website for me, but not on the app. Might go and scan one at the shops today, be great if they were that cheap.

Btw, I think most long life and fresh custard (ie pauls etc) are milk based and dont have egg in them.

  • I don't really know why people still buy these given recommendations of no added sugar until 2 years old. I know they're convenient, but babies don't really these.

    • +1

I didn’t do any added sugar or salt when bub was under 12 months, and do very little added sugar now. But, you’ve also got to consider lots of the ones without added sugar including home made a primarily fruit based which is full of sugar. My kid eats a stack of fruit and it would be very difficult to get him to eat enough food if fruit wasn’t a decent part of his diet. When we were having difficulty getting bub to eat enough the doc recommended pediasure which is also full of sugar - we didn’t end up doing it but I can completely understand why people would. Sometimes you just need your kid to eat.

      • The thing with eating actual fruit is that you're also getting the benefit of the fibre, which you won't get with fruit-juice (commonly used instead of sugar to meet "no added sugar"). Yeah, some kids don't eat and sometimes something is better than nothing.

  • might be store specific. its not showing up with $0.50 at my local store.

    • I went to woolies this morning, its $1.5 where i am, no yellow sale tag (didnt bother trying to scan though)

  • Sounds like a few people are having difficulty getting this. Since it’s showing on the website, I think if it doesn’t scan right in the store you could show them the price on the website and they’d likely mark it down.
