  I can't actually see how this makes life any easier. Sure, no need to dunk the roller into the tray, but I'd rather do that than have to wash 2 rollers and bother with the emptying ritual that looks associated with this.

manual rollers are already pretty fast… painting a wall the majority of the time is spent on cutting the edges anyway…
