  • Thanks great… how do if find them.. i have favourites set so dont see other channels? :)

    • If u press “tv guide” on the remote they should be below your favourites.

  • Still says $6?

And in other news, Plex was released on Fetch yesterday :)

    • That's great.
      About b*** time!
I've been asking them to add it for the last few years. Their reply was always along the lines of "Nobody uses Plex… Never heard of it…"

      • +4

What’s Plex? I’ve never heard of it.

        • Me too @Ugly. I tried to open the app on the weekend and it didn't work.

  • If I get this does it revert to $6 next month?

    • not unless you subscribe. It should automatically show in your channel list.

  • +9

I going to post before crazy people start subscribing like last time.

The Variety Pack channels will appear BY THEMSELVES in your channel listings.

THERE IS NO NEED TO SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING.

IF YOU DON'T SEE THE CHANNELS, POWER CYCLE / RESTART YOUR FETCH BOX.

You will not be charged anything unless you do something stupid, like attempting to subscribe to the pack. Then you will be charged.

The reason fetch do this is so you can watch the channels. They will disappear at the end of the month by themselves, they are hoping you will miss the channels at the end of the month, so you will subscribe to get them back.

  • any cheap deals on refurbished fetch boxes ?

    • I purchaed a refurbished Fetch Mighty from their eBay store about 2 years ago and still going strong. Currently $279 vs brand new at $449, plus any potential discounts if you have ebay plus.

Fetch mini doesnt have storage for recorded programs if you need that.

      • If someone was no longer with Optus and selling their Optus Fetch TV Mighty box, if I bought it, would I be able to do anything with it?

  • +2

Yep… switching from Foxtel to Fetch TV (plus subs) is the best decision I’ve made. Fetch is far more reliable than any Foxtel box I had. Plus - it’s yours to keep!

  • What are the ads like?

    • +1

      Same as fox really

      • I've heard that Foxtel has more ads then shows.

  • What sports does Fetch show? I see no sports channels.

    • +1

ESPN has US sports NFL, MMA etc and some tennis. Bein has others including some tennis. Could be others but I only follow tennis.

      • Thanks Mauricem but I am a football (the four codes), cricket, athletics, boxing, golf and tennis fan. That is why I have Foxtel and Optus.

Just a note, any recordings on these channels must be watched before the month is up. They will be locked once the channels are disabled again. Learnt the hard way previously :)

  • Can you Chromecast recorded stuff from the fetchbox to other TVs?

    • Not sure about Chromecast but I was previously able to watch recorded shows in my other TV. I just saw STB as an input (same as HDMI). Downside is that I don't think you can press forward on the video (unless it is a limitation of my old TV). Sorry I can't test now as both the box and my old TV haven't been plugged in for months. Youtube, Netflix and Disney+ has so much content that I no longer need it

      • I can confirm that you can forward through on demand for all recordings.

This is what we do and skip all the ads!

        • +1

Oh yeah when playing in the Mighty box I can definitely do that. I was talking about playing it via my other TV's (not wire connected to the Fetch box) interface. When I access the recording, it actually looks like you're playing the video from a USB drive
