Lipton Bubble Tea 5 Pack $6.50 @ Coles

1370

I have tried a few different brands of instant bubble tea, this seems to be the best instant bubble tea in the market. The pearls are chewy and similar to those in the bubble tea stores.

As a bubble tea fan myself and I make bubble tea at home for 70c per 700ml with pearls per serve, I get my ingredients from happycupwarehouse.com.au

Though you're buying bulk, 1kg powder etc.
. But they are made in Taiwan and it's the original ingredients store uses.

    • They don't have the classic any more… also stay away from Mango powder taste like chemical mix

      • I agree, I got both the mango powder and mango concentrate, go for the concentrate for sure! Mango powder was really artificial :(

        Which one is the classic?

I wasn't a fan of Thai Milk Tea, but I purchased the powder and it grew on me and now it's my favourite!!!!!

        • They sold out some time ago and not restock, used to order the classic milk tea powder from them, end up order else where.

    • Ain't nobody got time for that!

I do lol, I love my bubble tea and I drink it nearly every 2-3 days at home. When you drink it as much as me, you will try find ways to bulk buy and save a ton of money! :)

    • Uh oh… you just opened a pandora box in my life…

There goes my 2022 NY resolutions LOL

      • It's the best!! Legit is exactly the same as store bought! I purchased my reusable bubble tea cup from cuppe.com.au.

I've been purchasing from happycap warehouse for like 3 years now and never had a problem with them! 😊😊😊

        • Hi I sent you a message I hope that's OK.

I've reviewed a bunch of bubble teas including DIY ones, looking forward to trying this. Avalanche is terrible in my opinion - https://thatbubbleteablog.wordpress.com/reviews/

    • Nice list.

Which diy one do you recommend from Coles or woolworths for someone who lives about 2 hours from any of these stores.

Great list to have when I'm in town but for someone who really can only buy from Coles woolworths or aldi what do you recommend?

Thank you! I haven't tried enough from Woolworths/Coles. I've only tried Avalanche and 9Cha, both which were not very good in my opinion. I'll look to try the Lipton and Chatime ones when I can, the Chatime Oolong Milk Tea could be a good bet given your limited options.

An alternative could be to make your own. If you have some black tea bags (English Breakfast, Ceylon, or Black Tea), steep in a good-sized mug for 5-7 minutes, add in two heaped teaspoons of creamer (non-dairy is better I feel), and then add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar syrup. To make the sugar syrup, an easy ratio is 1/3 water, 1/3 white sugar, 1/3 brown sugar, add that into a pot, bring to boil on a stove. If you use a cup of each you will have enough to last a while (store in airtight container in fridge). Use two tea bags if you want a stronger one. It's not going to the best milk tea you've tasted but it can do the trick, I give it a low-mid C+ on my rating scale. Considering most stores fall into C and C+ for me, I think it's a decent outcome.

The Lipton ones are so much better than the Avalanche ones. Their pearls are a terrible consistency and basically goo.

Bought the Lipton royal milk one at Coles today and made 1 cup straight away….. For $1 something per cup U can't go wrong to try out. I feel it's not as nice as the shops however for the price it's definitely good. So I'm happy for what it is and will buy more.

    • ITs enough to satisfy your craving if you want it at some odd time of the night or cbf going out to get it.

I bought a Coke can to get the same sugar hit hehe :)
And I guess a food/drink product not from pollution filled country .

      • Yes and coke is much healthier .

        • At least you know :)

Can confirm. I tried the Royal milk flavour today, I found it quite delicious.

    Anything similar from Amazon?

Lipton bubble tea kits are the best I have tried. The brown sugar flavour is just like the bubble tea stores and the pearls flavour is amazing. Chatime milk tea pearls or jellies are horrible, and Avalanche powder is just not it…I highly recommend Lipton.
