PC gaming can go feck itself. I gave up trying to get a video card and bought an XSX instead. What a great peice of kit this thing is.
I have several PC's with high end graphics and couldn't agree more (GPU prices). These day's, the new consoles have caught up to PC gaming. All you do is turn it on and enjoy. I purchased FH5 and have both on XSX & PC and the PC looks awesome tbh however plagued by crashes on PC (always updating patches etc). Not sure why negged but neg culture is very rife on this site

@vinni9284: I got a RTX3070 for a smidge under $1100 from PLE back in May, not sure if that answers your question?
@reactor-au: Yeah, I bought XSX for $749 and plays the same game with the same output graphics 4K60p HDR10 as your RTX and you still need to rest of the PC to play. I mean that you've spent $1100 only on a GPU (cheap in today's prices) that outputs the same. FH5 doesn't support DLSS. Then add another $500+ for the rest for the PC. Like the comment above. Is it worth building a PC for $2K if you just buy an XSX/PS5 for a third?
@vinni9284: As someone who was a PC gamer decades before I was a console gamer, PC has never really been optional. Just about all my mates from the days of the LAN are still on PC. I have 20 years of Steam games. High-end PC will always have better graphics / performance to console, games are generally cheaper, and you can mod a lot of games.
But I get what you are saying, I mean $1100 for RTX3070 was tough to swallow and anything more than that I would have stuck with the old 980Ti which is still boxed in the cupboard somewhere.

Agree 100%. However what would % margin now be with PC in GPU output performance vs console? Maybe 10% better on PC with 1000% cost vs console

Agree however if you buy a disc version of console, you can get many second hand disc deals cheap. Mod 100% for PC. Yes PC is def has more room from flexibility.
Edit: PC gaming was easy to mod before the internet/online dependence however especially for gaming, the *.exe of the gaming file patch/modded over-ride in the directory of C:/ wont cut it anymore by buying a $10 copied game disc from a computer swap meet and getting it to run as retail.

Yeah I agree it's a touchy subject. I didn't say it was better in fact a PC will always have the advantage in lots of areas. But I ain't shelling out two Xboxes worth of cash for a midrange card.
Yeah there used to be a pretty clear divide between quality, but now consoles can do 4k60fps, 120fps in some cases and they're just so cheap in comparison.
I have a PS5, oled switch and a PC and my PC is so much better :D

I remember this deal, it was September 2020 when eb games were taking orders right when the Nvidia fiasko started and everything went to shit.
EB games were officially offering this exact deal but with a trade bonus for old consoles.
People kept bombarding the servers at 9am upwards til 12 midday then the servers went crazy as boys started to rumour the net stealing preorders(or macros on full auto) but luckily for me I gave up, until everyone was either at work or coming home frustrated from the eb games sheer unreliable servers and poor captcha investments.
I tried at 5pm and bang my order went through, I was just curious didn't care at that point, then noticed a checkout box(that people were complaining about as the order went into limbo)and it went through, and yes it was due to people being frustrated ordering from work.

EB Games was offering pre-order for 10 December for the $699 2 TB Seagate Expansion card ($100 deposit).
Suddenly release date moved to 10th January should have realised was a mistake after date was getting V close.
Still listed as Click & Collect - weird really can't C+C a pre-order, I think?

For another $50 you might as well get another XSX and install different games
The better option is just to get a 4TB HDD for like $100 and use it to swap games in and out of the internal HDD. Takes like 2 minutes to transfer a 100GB game.
Yeah, BUT the 2nd console will still only have 1 TB storage.
(↓ agree much better & cheaper deals for plus 4 TB normal drives & can find networked ones too, so no need to plug into console).
I realise now that the C+C is just like going into store, putting down deposit & picking up when it arrives - so makes sense I s'pose.
Been having major probs swapping between older style controller when empty - light flashes slowly then gives up - have to re-sync with button on controller & console. (both have new update AND I've let their name be Xbox Wireless Controller dunno why? Double tap works IF controller has been re-synced 1st - might be the 3rd party battery recharger doing something weird).
Also reading worrying stories about broken buttons on X/S controllers (bought 1 b4 console & got one in box will have to test both fully b4 warranty runs out).
It’s been almost a year the console is out, shouldn’t be preordering this.
